Hi my name is Mike and I am an Artwhore. I reinvented the word in fact. I love seeing my characters portrayed by different artists and styles. In fact I have shown that time and time again. I have a gallery to prove it.

Lately I have had alot of "Bah he has enough pics of his character, he doesn't need anymore" replies when I inquire about art on some level. So I'll ask my friends here on the Fanart forum...

    How much is too much?

    [/ QUOTE ]

NOOOO!!!! Say it isn't so. This is like being told there's no Santa Claus.

Now THAT is a Pay-per-view I would most definitely watch!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's funny. I was going to add a Pay-per-view line on but I could'nt fit it.
  3. Thanks all. I apprecieate the comments good, constructive and otherwise.

Hey Katfood, your mailbox is full. You can get a full size version of the render here,

    Feral Kat vs Feral Kitty

Click on download to the left otherwise it's the same size as the image at photobucket.

    Much too dark.

I know stuff in poser tends to be very dark in general and that you're going for a darker lighting here, but you're losing all your detail in the washes of black. Creating silhouettes is a very neat thing to do sometimes, but here the background is too dark as well, making the edges disappear.

For example, the text above is nearly unreadable. As soon as it gets to the part above the VS sign, it becomes muddy and difficult to make out. In Feral Kitty's name, the Kitty part suffers from the same thing. We all know that it says "kitty," but that's only because we're extrapolating it from the info we already have.

Feral Kitty has a belt and boots in that pic. But you can't see them at all. Items like her claws make a good silhouette so you can still make them out pretty well, but items that are flush with the rest of her are difficult at best to recognize.

I'd seriously suggest taking this into photoshop or some other graphic editing software and play with the histogram a bit. It'll leave your dark areas just as dark, while pulling out a little more detail in your pic. I ran a version of it over with curves in photoshop and I can see all the wonderful things you did with the outfits, including the subtle way the mesh netting actually lifts off Feral Kitty's body. But you simply can't see it in the normal version.

Thanks for the input. Doubt I'll do any of that. I messed with the histo prior and just did not like what it did to the sky. I did punch up the color in the final image but it's dark for a reason. I realize people can't see all the detail but that's waht happens when it's dark. What I need to do is get better at working with light in DazStudio.

I will say this though. The image at full size is much sharper than what you see here. I don't know, something about reducing and saving as a jpg it gets really fuzzy....
  5. With the claws, as long as I'm not the guy that has to break up the phoney pre-fight hype the event "scuffle".
  6. Speaking of which, I may have to move this image to my DA account.... Photobucket gets bent outa shape about that sorta thing....
  7. I've had this idea to do a boxing type poster for awhile. Seems to me, if there are arenas and places to fight each other in matches, there has to be promotion, right?

I went with the really dark look because I needed to practice using low level lighting. The city in the background is actually five city models that can be scaled to life size and actually have complete textures. The amazing thing is they were a free download from Daz.

Lastly, most people that do female heroes in 3-D use the model Victoria 3 as their base. I tend to use Aiko 3 (FallenSkye being the exception) which is anime based. You can morph the head to be more realistic which is what I do. May be my bias but I find that the exaggerated, unrealistic body lines make for a better image.

So... Without further comment, here it is. Feral Kat vs Feral Kitty.

    Possibly NSW

  8. Thanks for the help everyone. Always wondered how people did smoke in Bryce. Don't have it so that idea's not going to work.... Like the last idea. I think I may give that a shot.
  9. I guess I'm wondering more about what technique people use. Do they use a filter or paint. I'd love to get a tablet. It's on my wishlist.
  10. dust and smoke? The only thing I've managed to do is mess up my image.

    Poser questions

Yes you can bring multiple figures into Daz
  12. Those are nice. I really like the flying one.
  13. Those are really good. Like em both but I think the sceond one is pretty cool.

    The Gift

    wow, that's awesome.
  15. As a refrence or do you actually work over the image?
  16. Even though I use Daz, I would'nt let the fact that it's free be too much of a factor. You can spend far more than the cost of Poser on figures and props even with all the freebies out there. The beneift of Daz being free is that you can try it and see it it's something you like. There's a lot of things that Poser does that I wish Daz could do so the cost is definately worth it.
  17. Very Nice. What program did your friend use for coloring?

    Poser help

I've always been somewhat envious of people that can make poser work. I use a different program and my poser excursions bring the terms "disastrous & joke" to mind. A guy who used to post here, Sartori? I think his name was helped me out with using poser(and another program) to make textures but that's about the extent of my abilities with it. Shame too, I really like the work people create with it.

Beautiful, but the woman in the video playing Missy K looks better

I'd have to see her in the same postion to fairly comment.... Purely for scientific purposes of course. The peice? Awesome work.
