Molly's bullet where better aimed than she had hoped as three of them hit home ..one shredding the Quatum Freaks left bicep , the second grazing its way down the freaks left leg opening a seven inch tear , the third hit the quantum gun in its power supply .. a mix of blood , flesh and bone painted the wall where the Freak had stood .....

... white light enveloped the Void Slayer , his flesh seem to boil .. but no scream passed his snarling lips .. near death the Slayer held on , pumping the trigger of his gun as he shoved it into the Tiger -Girls face , his eye burning with hatred so pure it alone kepted his ruined body fighting .....

From the Office building came the sound of walls collapsing and a number of windows blew out , adding flying glass into the melee mix ...

Still the few remaining freak continued the tactic of spending their lives to hold the heroes attention... ignoring the wounded Fire-Chucker .... they rushed those still on their feet ....

The Freaks when down like with ease , but then it became clear there was a brain behind the mass of metal death dealers , the freaks where cycling in and out of combat , giving themselves o recover some what and stay upright for longer .. this was not the normal Freak all-out style .. they where fighting to tie down the Heroes with their very lives ......

Back-bitez , said a very rude word , reconsidered his options and dived for cover around the buildings corner , thumping his Cloaking Device back on the made great strides to flee the area ....

Seeing Tiger -Girl had other fish to fry the Dark Tank continued his charge .. striaght into the office block where the whole melee had started , the remain Freaks , seemingly hearing a unspoken order closed the path the Tank had followed , forming up in a wall of spikes , edges , and lumps of deadly metal ... grim grins flash across the faces as the readied themselves for the fight .....

... eons of practice sent the Void Slayers body forward in a combat roll , as the Dwarfs claws split the air where his head had been ...he continued the roll and added a spin to once more bring his gun to bear .. the quantum array weapon spat its energies at the loaming Dwarf shape ...triggering a small device on his belt .....across the street one of the Freaks suddenly shifted out then back in to phase .. but the returning Freak now raised his new gun , now a Freak Quantum Gunner .. he to aimed and fired at the Dwarf formed Tiger -Girl .......

muttering another set of magical phrases the Dark Tank shot a black beam at the Tiger-Girl ((Gloom)) and with a speed unreal for such a mass of metal ,it charged , dark light blooming from each of it metal spike clad fists ...


meanwhile the Void Slayer picked his first trarget , drew a slow bead for a head shot , lined up and fired .......

Some few miles away a pair of mis-matched eye peeered at a flickering monitor screen , watching the unfolding melee , a twisted smile flowed across the eye's face as the Tiger -Girl vomited her lunch .. " so some do have a weakness "... " still cant leave the boys to get trashed " .. Plan B now " the voice ordered , and a number and varity of hands respond by flicking switches and twisting dials ......

Parked in a side alley across the street the brown painted delivery truck has gone unoticed .. and only a few stray fragments from the batle had marked its surface ......
Explosive bolts shoot the van's rear doors 30 feet across the road , squishing a Freak Chopper between itself and a wall... out of the smokey alley steps what at first appears another Tank Freak , then its eye socket erupt in red magical flames ....

screaming a series of unholy magical words it calls upon the dark powers ..unleashing a wave of oily tentacles ((Tenebrous Tentacles)) in to the gathered heroes....

at the same time , responding to the same Plan B signal the Sneaky Tank , Back-bitez ,drops his cloak firing his Sawblade ((Ranged, Lethal, Med Dam, Foe Knockdown)) at the now revieled pink-clad sniper-girl .....

A unseen by all a shape entered the street via the briefist of portals ... the Void Slayer flicked on his Umbral Shield , raised his Quantum Array Gun , selecting full killo-zapp power and started the hunt.....

Smeg-face spun around the alleys corner and leaped over the piles of trash lining its floor ....legs pumping , blood gushing from his ruined arm .. Smeg-face sped down the stinking path and dived feet first down the sewer cover ,left open from the gangs arrival in town ...
once below ground his fear lessened and the pain of his shredded arm cut in .. crippled by the pain and blood loss he half fell half walked along the sewer tunnel .. only to scream in new fear as a hand fell on his shoulder ... "easy brother" came the metal voice of the Chief Swiper Dice-man .. " no worries we can fix that arm up just right .. ya i have just the blade for it , sweet surgical steel edged to "........Smeg-face screamed once more as his arms remains was hacked from his boby and the red hot flames of blow torch sealed the dripping wound .... * fades to black as the two figure disappear down the tunnel////....

you could almost here the air rushing in to fill the Freak shaped spaces left hanging in the air , as the gang members scattered in twenty different directions , each Freak having the same sudden desire to be a minimum of five klicks from here ... iron shod boots firing up sparks as they hit the road , giving a clear sign that the Freaks had kicked in their boosters in a effort to escape ....

meanwhile Smeg-face was getting a way too close look at the Tiger-Girls fangs , and having failed to remember any prayers , he resorted to a pure fear fueled scream .. escape over come any thought or reason , and he yanked his arm from the Tigers maw , the fangs ,tearing fesh , mussle and marking the bone , shredded the limb .. leaving the Tiger-girl with a mouth full of freak blood , reaking of chemicals and who knows what .. and Smeg-face with the needing a new arm .... still driven by the need to flee Smeg-face managed to leap the collapsed bus stop in a single bound .. and leaking blood everywhere .. he started to run south ...away from the worst day of his life ...

Smeg-face let out a small wimper , seeing the two heores bearing down on him , rapidly giving up trying to crawl throught the wall to his left ..he scrabbled ..crab-like behind the tempory cover of a ruined bus stop shelter... where was the rest of the gang when you need them ..bunch of scumbags ! clearly out classed he got his legs into run mode and made ready to make a break for it .....
Lady luck must have felt a litttle bit sorry for Smeg-face , for as he cowered ready to sprint away .. for a Stunner Chief , going by the name of Big-Spark , moved in from the right ,lobbing his Tesla Cage at the advancing heroes .. as he screamed a incoherant battle cry ...

Smeg-face , a Mad Freak Gunner , stayed slumped against the wall he had just been slung into ,his ears still ringing from the impact he could not hear what the girl hero was saying to the Smasher she was beating on , but he could still try and hurt her back , raising his SMG and with a snarl he yanked on the trigger , just as the hero girl ,shape shifted into a giant Tiger , over loaded in the fang departmnent ... even as the bullets headed tiger-wards , his lips started to form the classic ..OH shXt .. shape ,. as his dazed mind realized he needed bigger bullets ...

(( me thinks the heroes are having too much fun ))
A surge of electric power shot through his body , lungs clawed in fresh oxygen , glands flooded the blood with hormonal boosters , and his bio mechanical implants fired up to max power levels , the Chief Smasher , Grunter , slowly stood up ..grining as he noticed the female hero had not yet spotted him ... with manic glee he aimed his Cybernetic Hammer at the back of her pretty head ... setting the hammer arm to full power he unleashed the blow .....giggling ...as the huge mass of steel sped towards the girls skull ....

i think if your in the army your ment to shoot the stuffing out of them after all the country has spent billions on finding you some nice guns and bombs to play with ....

im prety sure beatings is still the reserve of the police ....

thats why we are talking about hero licences ... cos its a game .. just trying to be consistant .. no biggie

im sure you can make citizen arrests and such as a individual .. .. but the army as a organization can not be given such legal powers they have to have a law officer make the arrest ie PPD FBI et al .

does beg the question what is the legal status of a serving army member with a Hero licence .. which take precedents ..?

hehe yep under US law the army/navy /airforce/marines can not hold any legal arrest powers on US soil ( miltary base are excempt ).... except when deployed under a offically decleared state of emergency. which means the State Govener has asked the DoD for federal help and either the Prez or Sec of Def has issued a formal order to deploy troops ... or during times of insurection .... oddly the US coastguard are excempt from the Posse Comitatus Act as they come under homeland security .

i just didnt want to cramp the RP of the R.A.P.I.E.R toons with stuff that is totally unwanted .....

I am going to assume that R.A.P.I.E.R has to abide by the Posse Comitatus Act which prevents the federal military from carrying out any law enforcement on US soil ie search, seizure, and arrests ..

now just need to work out how the alt earths are going to react ....

i was more thinking or the wider status of R.A.P.I.E.R ...

any member ..one would hope .. would be judged on their own merits... , as i seen have happening at GG .. i mean they will have lives outside R.A.P.I.E.R wont they ...

having read your ..in the newspapers.. post on the founding of R.A.P.I.E.R.

how do you envisage/want the rest of the RPing world interacting with the event and ongoing exsistance of R.A.P.I.E.R. ?

do you want us to treat you as another hero corp and in effect ignore you ...leaving you to RP internally

or do you want the RP world react as if it is a real world event ... ie the global out cry at the USA's unilateral action ... how the civ lib lobby would react ... how heroes and hero groups would react .. particularly those from alt dim's

i ask only in the interest of good RPing.. as im sure you have seen how the army types have found a chilly reaction at GG over the past few nights .. dont want to spoil your RP by unwanted RP reactions to the R.A.P.I.E.R. toons .

so please give out some guidance on how you would like to be treated ....

the scope for themed heroes and even themed teams is , well to quote Loup , astronomical ...

rp plot line that can be played out for real ...with a real chance of failure built in . .

constant battles with your Heroes or Teams fluff Bad guys..

agrees with wolfram ... i work with two people for whom english is a second language , and they do not drop in words from their native tounge .. EXCEPT when talking about their homeland or their mother tounge ..both are fluent in english and and they use english words , ..yes i cant tell their homelands from their accents , but the same can be said for another work mate fron Newcastle UK , who has a very thick accent and uses certain words and phrases from the Newcastle area vocabulary ..

use of regional words and phrases is a very good way to flavour ones speach ...but it is like speaking another language , you must know how it works and be able to think in that way to carry it off ...

having had the pleasure of a number of IC chats with Jean-luc ..i am always impressed by your abliity to be so consistant and yet inventive with language ... i must admit to being total ungifted linguistically , and can only speak english , bad english and total gibberish .. and so make sure thats all my characters attempt .typos permotting ..

i find for those that do have the talent , using even only a handfull of other language words does really help to flavour rp IC chats .. it help remind one of the cultural origin of that character .

so if you can please do .. .. it is appreciated

Soap operas should use hero character in CoX, in our real world we have soaps based on police fire hospital rescue services , army ,navy ,airforce, intel services, CSI teams
every thing is exploted in the name of TV ratings ..

and it would be totally beliveable for superpowered people opting to be a TV hero rather than a on the street hero ..think of all the savings on effects !!

As to comic book i think in CoX they would fictionalize the heros rather than use real ones ...think Roy of the Rover , a footbsll comic hero , ..

However i can see some heroes guesting in both comics andTV shows .

What would be real fun to RP is .."What a hero did to me" .. a Jerry Springer exclusive tonite on Fox

is not Caladbolg belived to be the origin of excalibur via the early welsh Arthur tales ?

the problem with excalibur is seperating the myth from the later fiction write about Arthur et al , i mean Geoffrey of Monmouth book as much new fiction as history or recounting of myths

one could pick a varity of excaliburs depending on which tale one says is canon .. Arthur or CoX

hmmm .. ponders ...thinking about mythical swords given that in the pet hate thread not keeping to CoX cannon was a comman pet hate .. what myths are clearly in-canon , and are any clearly non-canon .

excalibur is in the canon .. does this mean Merlin exesisted .. or is the Arthur Myth reconised as a fantasy story grown from confused history ramblings ?

Zues is in , so all the greek gods? what about the Norse , the Inca , the Thai ?

are real world fantasy legends and lore allowed in-canon ...ie the sword Stormbinger ? , the lord of the rings swords ? .

is there any canon agreement on what is in , where the line is drawn ...or can it be in as long as it doesnt break any exsisting canon ?
