It gets real confusing when you think of it from RDJ's perspective. He's the dude playing the dude pretending to be a dude who's disguised as another dude.
  2. Saw the trailer again, this time before seeing Harry Potter in the theater. Didn't even notice it said Christmas the first time around, my bad. lol.
  3. To anyone dissing the movie because it's not authentic enough.... who cares? It's a friggen summer movie. Get over it. If the transformers fans can do it, I'm sure it'll be easy enough for you.

This trailer looked decent enough... though I'm not particularly fond of seeing RDJ in women's makeup for half of it. Still... the casting of Jared Harris for Moriarty was brilliant enough to make me want to watch this as soon as it's released. He's one of my favorite actors and possess the kind of intellectual look to pull off the role nicely.
  4. Okay, that is really friggen cool.
  5. Been looking forward to Eureka and Warehouse 13 coming back for a while. Alphas... doesn't sit right with me. I don't know if it's the name... or the concept of another 'Heroes'-ish show...
I will still give it a chance like I have so many other shows... but I'm not expecting much.
  6. I crashed while attempting to open my costume panel last night. Graphics were on full blast, so I got back on, turned them all the way down (I was about to go on a BAF run) and the game froze when loading the graphics.

Tonight I'll be switching to 11.2 to see if that will help.
  7. Any chance we could get Primal Earth Clockwork? Or perhaps CoT Demons? Or even, dare I say it, Devoured Earth pets?
  8. I got catalyst 11.5 installed and ran the game for a bit. Seemed to be running more like normal. I didn't see it crash, but that doesn't mean it won't later. I have more testing to do, but for now I'm cautiously optimistic.

    Thanks for the advice. =)
  9. I've tried talking with Tech support... they want me to download some software and only use it with my machine plugged directly into my modem. Since I'm using wifi for my connection... and it would be a rather large pain to drag this beast all the way back to the modem... I'd rather see if there are any alternatives to figuring out why the game is crashing more.

I'm running Windows XP, SP3. My videocard is an ATI Radeon HD 3870. Processor, Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz and I have 3.25 GB of RAM listed.

This machine has always struggled a bit when it comes to playing. I believe that's more on the internet side than anything else... and my crashes have always been pin pointed to the typical causes (ITF death valley, Trail loading and lag... Mapserver troubles... all which seems completely normal [They shouldn't be... but they are]). However... I've been crashing more and more lately... in places I've never crashed before. Loading Atlas, Talos, etc. Even worse... I've found I can sometimes crash my machine just by opening my costumes panel. 0_o

The only difference I can think of between before the randomness and after... well... there are 2. One was Issue 20.5 (I left the game for a few weeks, during which the issue was released). The other... I updated my graphics driver. I know ATI is notorious for releasing unstable drivers... I was hoping this isn't the case.. but these crashes are really getting on my last nerve.

Can anyone help shed some light on this?
  10. Dang... I thought you were going to talk about finally making Ouro a single, co-op zone.

Fair enough. A solid argument. While I believe that... impact a show had on it's watchers
is an important measurement by which to judge a program.. I don't feel it should be the only factor. I don't believe nostalgia should play that important of a role. Because people can be impacted by a show... who's quality was actually rather poor at the time.
Otherwise... the original BSG would be getting much more credit than the new adaptation of it.

*edit* Might I also add that... while it may not have had 30 years to influence it's viewers... it did make quite an impact. I've seen pages and pages of text filled with nothing but theory's as to the mysteries happening on that island. People didn't just watch the show, they obsessed over it.

Wow, I thought 4400 was really entertaining. And Heroes... well... it had it's ups and downs, that's all I'll say about it here.

Agreed. A list with no explanations for their choices is not a very good list at all.
  12. I'll just leave this here.

Time is a scientific concept. The subject of Time is included in many theoretical science studies. Traveling backwards in time is no possible (yet). Therefore, A fictional show featuring Time Travel = Science Fiction.

    This. 1000 times this.
SR is going to need more than just defenses to be something tolerable for Tanks. There are plenty of ATs that can hit softcap and most of them will have alternative mitigation for survival.

I'm thinking higher starting point and values for the resists in the auto powers... maybe higher HP too. They have to be careful, though. Too much alteration and SR will look less like SR and more like WP.

May I ask why you feel this way? Personally, I feel that Lost was one of the better written shows out there, let alone one of the better written *Scifi* shows. Their character development alone absolutely destroys half of the shows on your list.

Granted... most of the shows you listed are good, some even great. But that's how good Lost was. I highly recommend you watch the show before you spew forth more opinions about it.

The list goes on and on.
Also, thank you for this. You made me laugh pretty damn hard.
  15. I disagree with the people saying Lost doesn't deserve to be on the list. Clearly they didn't pay enough attention to the show in it's later seasons to make an accurate judgement. Yes, towards the beginning seasons it was more of a drama... but as they established character stories and gained more grounds on the over-lying plot... it absolutely can be qualified as Scifi. Time Travel, floating black clouds of destruction, ghosts, etc.

I haven't watched the original Prisoner or the new BSG (never really understood the hype behind this show)... so those are in question in my mind.. and SG1 definitely needs a spot in there somewhere. Other than that personal preference... the list seems fine to me.
  16. I might as well throw in my 2 cents about Keyes. Granted, I only played it once, during the beta... so if this have changed to make it easier/less confusing since then, let me know.

The problem with the Keyes trial is:

    1. The trail is way too complex. People love to rush the trials... and because BAF and Lam are quick and relatively simple... people are understandably irritated. This also means that the confusion new people experience with the trail is multiplied by 10. When you don't know what's going on.. and you're pressured to accomplish certain tasks quickly... it sucks. Not only that, but even explaining the tasks... it makes it difficult to understand what they mean... simply because... it remains a vague concept until one actually experiences it. For example, I received a Temp item and had no idea where or how to use it. For a while I actually thought the item was causing the random pulses because I got hit by one and died shortly after getting that temp.

    2. The rewards you get for the trails are GREATLY undervalued. I enjoy a challenge, but if I'm not rewarded for it... I fail to see what the point is... other than that fist initial challenge of completing it. Because we managed to win on that run in Beta, I no longer feel the need to even bother with it.

I dare say this is more useless than a Hami raid. At least then you have people who are dedicated to explaining what needs to be done... the tasks are relatively simple, and people (most of the time) don't try to rush it. Hell, you even get a better reward at the end for your effort. At least if you don't get the HO you want, you can sell it for a good amount of inf. I guarantee you if Hami raids offered Incarnate rewards (threads merits or otherwise) people would gladly do it over Keyes.

Keyes is not a trail, it's a Task Force disguised as a trail and it's so not worth the effort.

    Durarara!!

I only caught part of one episode. Was anyone else reminded of Paranoia Agent while watching this?
  18. I decided to make another Arc to leave behind while I take a bit of a break from the game. It's not perfect.. and it rather short... but not bad for only a days work I think.

    Arc ID: 504662
    A Tale of Two Universes
A Praetorian Hero names Checkers McGavern has an unusual request.

Please feel free to check it out. I'll be back in about 6 months for more changes and to see how it's done so far. In the meantime, stay cool everyone. =)
  19. Oh, okay. Thanks Afterimage. I must have skipped over it or something.

Great gag, devs. I'd love to see more stuff like that.
  20. I don't remember what the tip was specifically called, but the mission I got was "Plant explosives in order to destroy drug labs". I believe the story was about how the 5th Column were spreading Fixadine on the streets.

  21. The enemy you see in these 2 images is no dead. If the screen had captured the target reticle, you would see his health at just below half and recovering.

This is during a tip mission in which I blow up a drug warehouse. Whenever I encountered an LT enemy, he would attack like normal... but once his health reached a certain level... he would stop attacking and just drop to the floor. I could still hurt them... but I kinda felt bad and didn't kill them. All 4 LTs in the level, including the boss, did this. I didn't see anything mentioning it in the mission text... And usually when this happens the enemy turns friendly and you can no longer attack them.

So, is this a glitch or just an awesomely hilarious thing the devs set up?
  22. What makes the Bane shine is also what helps it get killed. Your high damage makes the AV turn to you and go 'You die next'. However, if this isn't solo... and you have a tanker who can do the job properly... that extra damage and de-buff/buff really helps the team out. And let's not forget your pets... although they aren't as useful against AVs.. unless someone has Barrier or something.

Honestly though... this is almost like comparing apples to oranges. Even though Banes have maces... the closer comparison to a Brute would be a Crab... simply because they can be as survivable as any Brute (except for a good WP or any Stone, obviously). They get a great heal/+hp, they can reach defense soft cap, and easily obtain resists in the mid 40s.

Of course... I say all this only knowing the way my Soldier plays. I don't have a Shield Brute, so I can't make a direct comparison....

Enough to offset the lack of AoE?
Banes have absolutely incredible spike damage potential... Possibly the second best, beaten only by Stalkers. Actually, Bane could be considered a rather interesting mix of Stalker and Brute. A little mitigation mixed with impressive ST damage per attack.

In most situations, not really. However... the difference will probably show itself in some of the harder 50+ content. I can remember my soft-capped Bane having a particularly difficult on an STF against the AVs. He got one/two-shotted pretty regularly.

It depends on how good you are at controlling how often you attack. High recovery doesn't mean you can spam your attacks more often... it just means you recover that lost endurance quicker. It's a small, but important, difference.

I actually have 3 builds for my Soldier. Bane, AoE/pet machine, and Pseudo Tanker. Crabs have impressive survivability and decided to try and exploit that.

On a side note... Are we going to completely forget about the added Toxic Dot in most of the Banes attacks? I mean, I know it's minor it most cases... but I think it adds to one of the reasons why you should go with the Bane over the Brute.
  24. No real animation = teaser fail. They just wanted to show off their pretty little cast.

Conroy is getting up there in age... and this is a younger Batman. I can accept his absence. However, the inclusion of Cranston is almost as good of a deal for me. The guy is a great actor and an excellent choice of a voice actor.
  25. Or how about making it so you can get the beacon without that badge?

I rather like the idea of an exploration badge you need to do a raid in order to get.

You know another thing that doesn't make sense? I was able to get every exploration badge in the game except for one in Atlas Park. The reason? I have to go through the elevator door leading into the Hero-side Recluses Victory portal room and my toon was a Rogue. Access denied.
