  1. I hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna hijack this thread for a bit... rather than create another.

I have an Elec/SR brute who is well over softcap. I took him on an LRSF, thank God it wasn't a Master run because I must have died 5 times during the last fight. I even died with Elude and cold buffs on...

I tried to keep my Darkest Night on Statesman, since he's the last to die and the debuff would effect every Hero in the group. Is there anything else I could have done to keep from getting owned so hard? Or should I just chalk it up to 'the pitfalls of the set' and move on?
  2. If all it does is push something... wouldn't it be closer to a 'pusher beam'?

Hell, I'd take this as a step closer to creating light sabers, not tractor beams... Especially is sleestack is right and it heats up the air around the object.

Let's extend this to all Spines animations. I don't like the whole 'Puff of green toxic crap' that spills out. I was particularly disappointed to see it was still happening... even after we were given the ability to customize our power appearances.

    This looks familiar. Also, hawt.

Well done. You win the thread.
  6. Could we please have another look at the Super Strength alternates? They just look awkward.

I'd love to see animations more like the Ghouls. Ghoul Rage is really fun to watch (shaking violently, glowing eyes, etc). I would really like to see the SS attacks changed to fit this style as well. Instead of rearing back and throwing a right cross... the character could pump their fists down quickly, look into the sky and quickly throw a punch.

And along with what some others have said (and maybe something I emphasized on another post... can't really find it at the moment though), Animations made to better fit specific origins. For example... Tech. An Earth controller could bring out a handheld device and press a button in order to 'activate' earth cages. An elec blaster's Zapp.. he could press some buttons on his arm and a riffle pops out of his shoulder, and fires. This could be geared specifically to take the same casting time without the boring 'stand there shaking while the power charges up' animation.

Don't like that at all. You see her riding away with her friends at the end of 2... with that dude saying 'Active her' (or something like that) and you see her eyes change. It's in a city setting. Then at 3... we see everyone in an open desert setting? We already knew she was a living weapon, so what was the point of 2's ending other than to be a cliffhanger for 3?

I don't know... there's just wasn't an cohesion between them... and felt like a massive middle finger to the viewer. Or, at the very least, showed the writers aren't very good at connecting the dots.
  8. ....Does this movie series have some sort of favorable B-movie vibe that I'm missing?

I never really liked the games... and haven't played them very much at all. I saw the first movie and thought it was decent. Saw the second movie on TV and wondered what horrible atrocity I committed to deserve such punishment (though I did like the actress who played Jill). DVR'd the third movie and was left wondering where the connection between 2's cliffhanger and 3 was... Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure I watched it all the way to the end and yet I can't remember *how* it ended. It must have bored me so much that I just blocked it out of my mind.

Now there's a fourth movie and I'm absolutely stunned that it even made it passed the concept stages. Granted, I haven't seen it... but I've seen the others and I can't imagine this one being any better or worse.

As far as I can tell, there's no real story holding the series together other than 'Virus breaks out/zombies rule the earth' and 'Alice is a clone supersoldier dealio'. This also makes me wonder if there's ever going to be any real resolution.... or if the series will just run out of money and stop producing films.

Agreed. I'm not happy about this, but I've actually been that kind of person before. Cynicism is contagious.
  10. lol. I can't believe there are people complaining about getting improved performance and more build flexibility.

Wwaaa, Im tuffer then joo. I dun neid know stinken sta-men-uh.

Congratulations, you won the game. You're awesome, the bomb, etc. Let's face it, there's nothing wrong with making the game slightly easier. It's already a hundred percent easier than most MMOs out there. This will make it one hundred and one, instead.

Now. If you'll excuse me, I have to go solo an MoLRSF on my petless MM to show just how much more awesomer I am than joo.
  11. I honestly considered going petless once. Was teaming with someone last night on my level 40 Necro/Poison. My pets died so often.... and so quickly that I stopped using upgrades on them because it really only meant 3 extra seconds of survival for them. I joked that I might be more helpful if I just concentrated on healing him (a fire/shield tank) and debuffing.

I never really looked at the difficulty setting they had set up... Or maybe it's a bad powerset combo, or bad slotting... but I was really hurt'n on that run.

  13. Look again! Homer is now Vega!
  14. Let's see.... Another glamor filled 'pretty people with problems' series with a slight twist?
And you say it's a CW program? You must be kidding.

No thanks. This is not my Nikita.
  15. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just some coincidental matching... but I'd really like to see the following 'fix' take place.

Upper body: Chest Detail: Jewel + Aura: Alpha: Chest

I have a few more images, but photobucket is being an idiot right now and linking the original images instead of the cropped ones.
You can see them here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6-14-30-44.jpg
    And here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6-14-30-49.jpg

It really seems like these 2 should fit together, and they almost do. The aura is just a hair off... and if it could get moved so that it's in the center of the Jewel chest piece, I'd really appreciate it. =)
  16. Hhmmm.... not sure if I can recommend anything in your preferred category of music... I can recommend some of my personal favorites, though.

These aren't exactly the most obscure groups, I know... Thought I'd throw them out there anyway, just in case.

    Gagasaurus Rex

Huh... not what I expected. I read that as Gag-a-saurus Rex. Not Ga-ga-saurus Rex.
I think my interpretation is better...

Maybe not at first, since you wont have anything to compare it to as it's your first character in a while. After a point, though, you'll get tired of your secondary being so utterly useless and you'll start looking at every other Brute secondary with envious eyes.
Ya know what's funny? I pretty much did the same thing with my SS/Invuln. He's sitting at 30 right now... has been for quite a while. It's my first attempt at Invuln... and hearing how ubar the set it, I was pretty disappointed that he wasn't doing better at that stage... so I left him and finished leveling my Elec/SR. lol.
  19. Hhmmm... quite a few options to choose from. Thanks for this thread. I don't live near a book store and always wondered if the Super-hero fiction trend ever lasted beyond 'The Death and Life of Superman'. I'm probably not the authority on good writing, but I always thought it was a good read and wanted to see more.

Interestingly enough, I just started an SS/EnA brute. He's only 5 at the moment, but I love the character concept and the combo seems interesting. I may have to rely on Footstomp to survive more, but still...
  21. I predict... there will be a blooper clip on the Season 1 DVD where Chiklis says "It's clobberin time" accidentally.
  22. Everyone on Lost got screwed. Even though The Daily Show probably deserved to win, I would have liked to see Conan win... if anything... just to see what he'd say, and how NBC would have reacted. I watched the Colbert Report a few nights ago... and it looked like their writers won an Emmy. I guess it wasn't aired?

And... Honestly... Madmen gets too much credit. Yes, it's a good show, but it's no Lost. Oddly enough, Madmen won all the awards except the one I wanted them to win.... but that's only because I wanted to see Christina Hendricks bounce up on stage. WALK! *cough* Walk on stage.
  23. Oh, alright. I hear the Droid X is pretty good, then.

Yeah, I can't really afford the 30 bucks a month right now (going to college and jobless at the moment) so... needless to say... I was pretty pissed off when I found out I wouldn't be able to get a Droid.. or 90% of the other phones Verizon offers.
  24. Interesting... you seem to be in the same position I was in last month. 2 year upgrade from a Voyager Phone. Seriously, that's just eerie.

    Anyway....
I'll tell you this right now: Don't consider a smartphone unless you are willing to pay the outrageous fee of 30 bucks a month for their mandatory data package BS. Yes, there's no way around it... even if you have a wireless connection at home and intend to us it for most of your online use. It's still mandatory.

Someone really needs to regulate these a-hole cellphone service providers.
