Quote:Also my build's have 2 Fallouts and 1 Vengeance so I am diversifying a little. Also I rly think you have a point, there is one thing that makes synchronized builds better (as far as bonuses goes): they allow to synchronize power usage.
If you say for example that taking instead of Recall friend vengeance, then ok. ( Because it won´t change the recharge times of the powers). -
Quote:Have you considered diversifying your builds some? Some powers become far more powerful when stacked, like AM, Choking Cloud, Leadership and most AoE controls. But in some cases, multiple copies of the same power is redundant. Do you really need all three characters to have Hover, Fly, Recall Friend and Mutation?
Frankly, you can get by easily with just Super Speed and Hover -- skip Fly. (Heck, with the Raptor Pack and the temp Jet Pack and the Jet Pack you get from the Positron TF and the Zero G Pack, you really don't need Hover, either. Take Combat Jumping for the immob protection.) Let one of your characters be the 'porter with stealth. The others can then add a little bit of diversity -- Spore Burst, Spirit Tree, EM Pulse, Tactics are all powers that might be useful, even with only one or two.
Local,
As always your points are very valid but here is the thing (I'll put it in lists cause you like lists)
1 - It's much easier to play with all the same powers because if not then it's alot of different key combinations, I'm already having two different power sets to deal with (Archer and Troller) so it can be a headache (my fault cause I have more then one character).
2 - Mutation and recall friend are my backup's since I never know who will die and usually if one goes, more then one follows and I like having the ability to do everything with everyone, makes things faster.
3 - I thought about getting group fly, thing is sometimes they get stuck behind buildings (auto follow is messed up in this game) and well, you can see the problems it will cause.
4 - The Sleep would not work well on this team cause of all the AoE, but I get what you mean.
5 - I can't get along without fly, it's like CJ for others, I just can't.
What your saying is very true and I am running Tactics on one of them, it's actually 3x Maneuvers, 2x Assault and 1 Tactics.
Thing is, that running 3 or 4 (I bought another account, god I am dead) toons at once is a different beast, moving the mouse across three screens takes alot of time so I don't like to do it, so I'm stuck to using the keyboard to do everything, it has it's limits.
Thanks though Local, your right of course, but it doesn't work for me too well. -
Yes Legal, no exploits or bugs or whatever.
I got another account and decided to level up a character on it to match my current characters, I'm well past doing an XP pact and want to level her up in AE to catch up.
What I would like is some general advice on how to build a map/mish to max exp during a run, I'm not looking to goto 1-50 in AE or anything like that and I wonder if I should just do my regular radio mish's and park her at the door?
Anyhow, what map would you suggest and how to build groups? should it be all LT's and Bosses or ?
Oh, I should point out that the team I am doing this with is a pair of Plant/Rad's and a Rad/Archer
Thanks everyone and please no flames, again I am not looking for exploits or anything like that, just want to get this other toon up to scratch and go back to the streets. -
Quote:Thanks for the builds, I am at work so I can't look at them yet but I will when I get home.I made 2 builds (for the Controllers and the defender) so you can get an idea of slotting... personally I would not take hover and fly, but good, I let it in. But I changed Vengeance with lingering radiation. You won´t fight AVs without it....
Turn off AM and turn on Accolades to roughly simulate tripple AM (ok, here you are +10% above)
With the maneuvers from the other chars you should be softcapped to ranged. Since you want ranged, go for it.
Charge with your Controllers, lock the enemys down, drop EF, Go in, 3 CCs with holdprocs should hold everything, Souldrain on defender, Rain of arrows.. next spawn.
As for this...

Btw: Can you post your Multiboxing software?
If your using 3 computers and 3 accounts (or whatever, 1 computer per account) you can get along with just Synergy with the Broadcast patch, found here.
http://www.fundamentzero.com/index.htm
This is from Dr.Mike2000's sig. on the left side is a picture of "City of Heroes X2" click on that and follow the instructions, it's pretty easy.
If, like me, your using 2 computers and three accounts you need also install software that will send keystrokes to the different windows, I am using HotKeyNet, which is free software, you have to write your own scripts to do it, so my advice is to have one PC per account, much much easier. -

Hey Guys,
Ok, here is the truth, I SUCK at slotting characters, simply because with my advanced Altitus I have never gotten a character high enough to bother, but my all Rad team (a Rad/Archer and 2 Plant/Rads) are holding my interest longer then any other team has and it looks like this will be my first 50's.
With that said, I'm looking to max +DEF with my build as I have tons of +End and +Recharge with 3 AM's and Hasten up all the time. While +Def is the focus any other benefits would be welcome as well.
Here is my current build, I have left out the slots, if anyone would kindly suggest what I should slot my powers with to help survivability I would really appreciate it. Feel free to move the powers around and add whatever slots you want, I am not married to the APP I have chosen for this team, since the Plants have a AoE confuse (With seeds) I decided to mirror this with my APP choice, but if you can think of something better

Hey Folks, (Warning LONG post), I posted this origionally in the Controller forums but since the first character is a defender well....
So since the game is down for 12 hours (/shakesfist), I thought I would post what I am running now with my all Rad team, my setup is 2 computers running three accounts, the Rad/Archer is my "Main" character with the two Plant/Rad controllers on auto follow, and I pass the keystrokes from the Archer's account to the computer running the two controllers.
So here is what I have:
Level 48 Science Defender
Primary Power Set: Radiation Emission
Secondary Power Set: Archery
Power Pool: Speed
Power Pool: Flight
Power Pool: Leadership
Power Pool: Teleportation
Ancillary Pool: Psychic Mastery
Hero Profile:
------------
Level 1: Radiant Aura
Level 1: Snap Shot
Level 2: Aimed Shot
Level 4: Fistful of Arrows
Level 6: Accelerate Metabolism
Level 8: Hasten
Level 10: Blazing Arrow
Level 12: Hover
Level 14: Radiation Infection
Level 16: Aim
Level 18: Super Speed
Level 20: Explosive Arrow
Level 22: Fly
Level 24: Maneuvers
Level 26: Assault
Level 28: Mutation
Level 30: Fallout
Level 32: Recall Friend
Level 35: Enervating Field
Level 38: Rain of Arrows
Level 41: Dominate
Level 44: Mind Over Body
Level 47: World of Confusion
Level 49: Ranged Shot
And the two Plant/Rads are pretty much identical except where noted.
Hero Profile:
------------
Level 1: Entangle
Level 1: Radiant Aura
Level 2: Strangler
Level 4: Roots
Level 6: Accelerate Metabolism
Level 8: Seeds of Confusion
Level 10: Hasten
Level 12: Hover
Level 14: Radiation Infection or Enervating Field
Level 16: Maneuvers
Level 18: Super Speed
Level 20: Vines
Level 22: Fly
Level 24: Assault or Tactics
Level 26: Carrion Creepers
Level 28: Mutation
Level 30: Vengeance
Level 32: Fly Trap
Level 35: Enervating Field or Lingering Radiation
Level 38: Recall Friend
Level 41: Fire Ball
Level 44: Fire Shield
Level 47: Consume
Level 49: Choking Cloud
I'm only level 35 so far so the choices that I listed after that level are what I am planning to take, although with the defender I am not sure which APP I really want, I used Psychic Mastery in this example because it's seems like it would be a good idea to have some overlapping control's if need be.
You'll note I have RI selected on all three and EF selected on two, with a LR tossed in mostly for fun, my attack sequence is generally (and I'm stealthed with SS+IO mind you) is to toss out a Carrion Creepers, wait for everything to bunch up and attack them, hopefully the pets have run in at this point as well, then Seeds and at that point, depending on the group (how many +2's there are) I will launch the debuffs (I start with two RI's and a EF and if it's something really tough, the second wave is two more EF's and a LR).
I didn't take EM Pulse on any of the characters because I really don't think I need a END Draining hold with all the control's I already have, and 2x Chocking Cloud (or perhaps I might change the Archer's 49 power to that as well) should do it.
So I guess if you had this setup what powers would you have taken? there is some redundancy in the picks since the general idea is to be self-sufficient, I should not need a tank with the Creepers and the Pets, if anyone dies there is someone to Rez or Fallout/Vengeance, if only one character survives (usually the main if I have to run) then anyone can teleport the rest of the team to a safe spot and rez. I have hover (and fly) on all to stay out of Meele range, Hasten/SS allows for perma 3x AM and Perma Hasten with SS+IO for stealth.
What would you do different? And if anyone has some slotting suggestions I am all for it, other then the Stealth IO and a Karama: Knockback Prot and a LoTG Recharge I have none.
Also, would you bother with Maneuvers at all? I could run 3x Assault and 3X Tactics instead, With this setup I have 3X Maneuvers going with 2x Assault and a Tactics going, when I slot Hover for +Def and Maneuvers I get around (at level 35) about 18% Def to all, should I bother?
Here are the data chunks, first the Archer then one Plant.
Thanks All.

Thanks All.

My fault, my fault, when I said Stealth I meant being stealthed somehow, in my case it's SS + IO not the pool power, sorry for the confusion.
I guess I wanted to know if for the most part it stays useful cause I remember how disappointed I was with Invis when it started to be useless and frankly my team needs it.
Thanks all! -
Quote:Never thought of that at all, perhaps I should slot my Creepers with it too so I can stand father off and wait for the mobs to circle inFew new thoughts on your problem: If the enemy group is not clumped as for example nemesisgroups, you could solve your problem very nice with these changes to slotting: by lvl 32 you can slot lvl 35 enhancements, and with the premise that you should sixslot your main controllsource (when IOing at 50 5 would be enough if you don´t want extra ranged defense), you can slot seeds as followed: 2 acc, 1 confuse, 2 range and one confuse/range from the perplex set ginving you: 76% acc, 54% range (near capped), and 59 confuseduration giving you: 129% base accuracy, 77 feet range and 59 seconds of confuseduration. 77 feet with a 60 degree wide arc should a hit everything and their mother
Quote:One problem can not be solved by that: Caves where mobs are standing on stones or behind stones etc.here the PA is rly making a little difference.
One thing: Don´t be shy to use enervating field. Since a hate the longish animation time of RI, EF is dropped rly fast and provides two very good effects: Enemy damage is lowered, and Your damage (3 EFs..holy god) is improved (especially on bossmobs).
For better control while trippleboxing i suggest:

Also, I gave my wife a hard time when she bought a $60.00 mouse before so I don't think I will be bringing that monster home LOL -
Quote:Well, I pass all my keystrokes and the mouse can move around across all PC's but I only click on one screen at a time.Ok, now I know where you come from, writing from work, so can+t go to much into detail: How is your Hardware setup, 3 pcs all enabled to synchronize your buttons? Mouse is not synchronized but able to go to another screen?
Quote:Some answers: When stealthed, the mobs attack your pets (and if I+m not wrong completly, have to test it later, the produced aggro can transfer to the holder of the pet).
I don+t think it+s needed to use tough/ weave.
Designate the Healpower to one additional button of the mouse. The heal is good when 3 of htem fire in the same time. tripplestacked AM with hasten should be good recharge for anything.
Another Idea would be, since endurance should be no problem, take Chocking cloud, and after the initial doubleseed go into hand to hand combat: Since most mobs rush after their initial ranged attack into melee, they will get into the gases of Radiation (RI, EF, CC) and locked down to eternity. with three CCs running, (lockdownproc is avaible from 30) they should be held very good, even bosses.
Yes, if you are running +4 level content, tone it down to +2 or +1. The masses will give you better rewards.
Thanks for all the advice, I was thinking of getting CC as well, just I remeber it was a pain when I get mezed (even if it's only for a second with 3x AM going) and having to start it all the time.
Kinda wondering if I should get 3x CC or EMP? -
Hey All,
This is coming from a long time Everquest I player who's dev's had a strange idea about risk/reward to say the least, which in that game by the time you got a cool/good power it was usually given 5-8 levels to late.
Invisibility was one of them, by level 30 or so everything saw threw it (or it's cousin Invis. Vs. Undead) and was pretty useless. So with that horror in mind my team of all Rads really relies on stealth to be able to set up all our attacks (seeds, Creepers, ect.ect.) and I just wanna know other then a few exceptions does stealth remain useful from 1-50? regular content of course, not PvP.
Thanks! -

Quote:level 32 stuff, so Council, Freaks, CoT that kinda stuff. What are you fighting?
Unless Rad was nerfed hard, if you throw Rain of Arrows and Carrion Creepers into a pot of triple stacked AM and triple Rad Debuffs, enemies will be "whiffing" as they melt before your eyes.
Trying coordinating between the three of you by opening with Radiation Infection followed by Enervating Field on the hardest target(s). Also try to stack AM when possible so you can get a hefty recharge and damage bonus. Liberal use of Lingering Radiation will easily floor enemy (no AVs) recharge and movement rates.
Ill/Rad is great, but I think a shift in play style will salvage the time and effort you put into your heroes.
Good luck!
I have perma 3x AM at all times with near perma Hasten (it's off by about 5-10 seconds max) and my debuff routine is two RI's with a EF tossed in, problem is that if things get around the anchor and are not debuffed I can't take the pounding, we're really Squishy, and I have 3x Manouvers and hover going too.
I'm doing something REALLY wrong here, I dunno, it might be a limitation of 3 boxing as everything is funneled through 1 target rather then hitting three different spots at once.
Here is a question, if I am stealthed and my pets are not will they attack me or the pet first?
Also, I wonder if I should take Tough/Weave and just get some more Res/Def?? -
Quote:I umm don't have spore burst, I have never ever taken it.If you are having trouble with two plant/rads on the team I don't think replacing 1 or both with ill/rads is going to solve your issue unless your issue is specifically taking out AV's.
Heck even if you were facing a group of AV's the two planters could sleep the whole group of them with spore burst and do singular pulls. And with 3 rads you shouldn't be having issues with single AV's.
I think you should post up the plant/rad builds you guys are using. Something seems really off in your experiences and I'm doubtful an ill/rad will resolve your issue.
My setup is my Rad/Archer (main) with two autofollowing Plant/Rads. So (stealthed mind you) I walk into a area and hit one of the creepers at max range, if it draws all the aggro (like I prey it does), then I seeds and AoE and it's pretty easy.
I admit I'm a little lazy with tossing the debuffs, since things are not always in anchor range, it's funny cause if the seeds hits I don't need the debuff, but if it misses then usually everything is so scattered that the debuf doesn't work that well LOL. -
Quote:Fortunately you usual reluctance to say something like "Learn to Play" was able to be overcome in this instance
but I have one question. How in hell are you wiping so often?... 3x radiation infection, 3 times enervating field, 3 times healoptions. 2 x seeds for even boss control on even nemesis? I´m normaly not rude and say things like: learn to play,I would not want your head to explode
Quote:but with your former setup i don´t see reasons to wipe. Rad with plant is so effective in producing mitigation and damage (death is the best debuff), it´s unfunny.
I think I am set to +2 or +4/6 heroes so perhaps I should tone it down a bit -
Thanks Milady's Knight,
I just wanna get a team to 50 for once! -
Hey All,
So I'm looking to level a team of three Fire/Kins and I'm looking for some advice.
There are plenty of build threads around so I am sure I know what picks to make and so forth, but, thing is, I find that around level thirty or so it gets harder to level and I sometime (like usually) give up on toons and I don't want to this time.
So with that said, any tips, survival tricks I should know? I usually set things to 2/6 as I level up, but I wonder if that is a mistake with this team? I know my plant/rads get into trouble and this team is not nearly as safe as that one, so before getting my Imps who SHOULD take care of most of my aggro problems (I hope) what is my best bet? how should I set my difficultly?
I was thinking of slotting my Fire cages and Char as damage powers (ie 2 (or 3) acc and 3 dam and maybe a endredux, keep in mind that as of level twenty, all my toons will have perma 2xSB on all of them so blue bar will not be an issue, and as of level 22, perma hasten too). I know Cages is usually not slotted for Damage but remember I will be hitting the mobs with three of them at once.
Also, was thinking of taking Ring of Fire till I get father along for another attack, I suppose after Hot feet I wont need it, but??
Could use any advice, who should I fight? who should I avoid? I know the council is a pain for me cause there are just too many of them and I'm too squishy. -
I'd go Rad/Sonic myself.
With Sonic you get -Res (extra damage) along with a cone sleep, depending on your groups play style it can come in handy.
With Rad you get a heal, debuffs, AM, Slows, a rez, Exploding teammate corpses! you name it, and if you want a single target heal get the med pool as it seems that's all you want to do anyways, then put the heal on auto, put your brain on ice and play away. -
Thanks guys!
Yea Local I have read your guide, I dunno if I will just restart my team and make it 1 plant/rad one Ill/Rad and a Rad/Def or try to PL a Ill/Rad. Seems like the thing I need to add to my team.
Thank! -
Hey Folks,
Ok, here is the scenario. I have a all rad team of 2 Plant/Rads and a Rad/Archer, now that they are in their 30's I am finding I wipe alot because even with the tools that Plant brings (Creepers, seeds, pet, ect.) my guys are really too squishy and if they ignore the creepers (and it happens) or the seeds miss or whatever, my team is face planting.
Now I had an idea to swap out one of the plant trollers with a Ill/Rad mostly cause I will have more then enough recharge to make PA perma without having to get any sets (3X AM ftw).
My group has SS/IO's for stealth, so how will PA work with that? and will they run into melee and keep things off me? what I want I guess is a tank, without actually getting a tank
Could this do it for me? cause when I do PUG and get a Tank everything rushes to him/her and I can stand back at range and do what my team does best, but if they notice me...well... not so much.
Sidebar. I find that creepers is a little too inconsistent when it comes to distracting them, sometimes they all run into it (sets up a area to Seeds then Roots and AoE to death) but sometimes they ignore it completely, I always try to place the seeds right at their feet, am I setting it wrong? -
Hey All,
I use 3 accounts all the time and I am considering going the DB/WP scrapper/Xtoon/Xtoon trio again.
But who to team with?
I did a Sonic/Sonic Def once and that was pretty good, but I am wondering who to toss in the third slot, I could get silly and use a FF/xx Def or xx/FF troller or even a Fire/Kin I can't decide.
SO... if your me and you have the accounts and no life and wanna get a team up thats strictly PvE and perhaps AV's (or not) what three toons would you pick...And why?
Keep in mind that the other two are on auto follow and ideally I don't have many click target powers for them.
