Whoa! Lewis come on Grav is not that bad, it has 4 attacks before the AoE and the best gimmic power (Propell) of them all.

and if you slot it correctly, even that silly AoE Intangable is not bad (thin out the heard a little).

  3. Hey All,

Just folling around with a three team of EMP/DP's and I was wondering does the -RES stack with Chem ammo? so if I use that ammo and use the tier 2 attack and above will it keep stacking 3 times over from 3 different attackers? and does that stack with different powers? (ie, 3x from Dual Weild + 3X from Empty clips + 3X from Bullet Rain ect. ect. ect.?)

    Also,

what is the -RES % anyways?

Both are about as close to fire and forget as you'll get.
Was thinking the same thing actually, skipping (or atleast on a second build, I would take the shields on one of the builds if I Pug or something) and just running the PBAoE Shield and putting a field on one of the pets, which lends itself to a Fire/Sonic or perhaps a Earth/Sonic (Stony is supposed to be really tough).

    Quote:

Then since you could skip the shields leaves open a couple choice for maybe having some fun with a couple of Sonics less used powers Sonic Repulsion and Sonic Cage. Since your controlling all the characters much of the annoyance factor you might find on Pugs with these powers is .. well under your control.

Normally a Sonic Res build is a bit of an endhog if they try to attack while maintaining the 2 big toggles but obviously with 2 RA's running almost 24-7 on them any of Sonics end issues will vanish. With something like an aggressive Fire/Sonic that's a major downside >> keeping your blue bar full while running those toggles on top of potentially spamming Cages and running Hot Feet. But +1 Assault, 3 Imps, Hot Feet plus Disruption Field plus other Sonic -resistance is some seriously drool worthy damage output when you add a RoA/Archery and the empath buffs to the mix. And pretty much all the Fire/Sonic would need to do is move from A to B the rest is toggles, Imps, or the buffs and attacks your empaths are already doing. The only downside I see is either having to place the Field on an Imp, a vet pet, or one of the Empaths who'll need to get in the mix to get the Field on the foes.
Hotfeet would not be in the mix in my ideal usage, I would want fire for the pets but would prefer to stay at range, but everything else you listed here is what I would do, you might ask then why run Fire at all without Hotfeet, simply because I want the pets, I've done Plant a ton and don't wanna do it, so it's either Fire/Earth/Ice.

If you meant no Sonic Blast (vs Resonance) and want a defender >>> Sonic/Dark, thinking Liquefy plus twinned RoA's (and, of course, the hula hoop of death)

Next choice ... something Traps, maybe Rad Blast for lots of achilles and other procs, Seekers, Poison Gas, Acid Mortar, death.

And then there's Storm/something ... Freezing Rain on every spawn

Or Cold/something ... ditto only Sleet (and Heat Loss for more -resist)
Humm, there are some idea's, I am torn between a troller and a defender, a Plant/Rad would be really good, except I've played too many of them, I don't need the shields via Sonic (well, it's not really NOT needed, rather I just don't want to bother with shielding bit, mind you having resist to all rather then just S/L and something else would not be bad.), so I'm thinking rad, but not plant, Fire/Rad perhaps? I dunno. or Fire/Sonic.

Traps might be a waste as I am almost at Softcap with Fort/Man/Weave, so FFG would unnecessary, LOL what about TA/A?

Perhaps a Fire/Sonic would not be a bad idea in the end or a Fire/TA (staying with the Archer theme).
  7. Hey All,

Well, I am getting that urge again to start 3rd account, I'm currently playing a Duo of Emp/Archers and I was wondering who I should toss into the third slot.

So yes, I am dual-boxxing and will be tripleboxing to do this so I need a fire and forget type of character. I am thinking a Fire/Rad or Plant/Rad would do nicely but anyone have a better suggestion, my main is one of the Archers.

What defender is the most controllerish? I would not mind another defender.

Also, I am looking to increase the damage my Archers do, so Dark or Rad (not sonic SIGH)

MM pets do get a fair bit of aggro so they will die sometimes... Zombies much sooner. Since you DON'T want to babysit your pets, don't take zombies. They're less survivable. Take Demons or Bots. Since bots doesn't fit your theme, take Demons. The Ember Demon even gets an AoE pulsing heal at 32 (it goes off every 25 seconds, about equal strength to thermal's PBAoE heal). I am not sure if it would heal you... It has a 7 targets max, which I think intends to be the MM, but I am not sure what happens when the MM isn't in the area, haven't paid attention.

Anyway... Bots and Demons at 32 both get a lot of AoE damage. While you focus on the big guy, they can take out all the small guys.

FF is boring but you want boring, and since you don't want the MM paid attention to, it will help keep him alive if anyone does attack him. Thermal is a bit more active, but can mostly be ignored, used for spot heals and shields/forge, debuffs on big guys. Thermal user's only defense is warmth, though. FF MMs are less squishy themselves
Humm, I guess demons is more fitting, given my theme, I guess Thermal is the way to go with a WP brute. I do wish the Target of my Target thing would work, but I guess leaving them in aggressive (well, some anyways) will work as well, since the MM will be in meele range (autofollow).

Do Mobs attack the MM if the MM isn't attacking but rather the Pets are?

For a), I give a strong recommendation to /FF. Bubble up every 4 minutes and go. You can just bubble the brute if you want. Thermal would be quite nice too, with Shields+ Forge. Dark is an active set and I don't suggest that for what you're doing. Traps would be ok if you dual-box well (just hit 2-3 buttons for each spawn).
FF is an idea, I didn't like traps much when I tried it.

But will the Zombies/Demons attack what I (brute) am attacking or some random other mob? I want us all on one target I think (I might be wrong here)?

The Contagious Confusion proc lasts much longer (8 seconds at least?) when it does kick in, so it that has a decent duration.

Really, I'd only take the power to six-slot Coercive Persusasion for the bonus 10% Recharge and 5% Ranged Defence. And to look cool

I'd highly recommend Dark Mastery for Oppressive Gloom. That ticks every 2 seconds for a 9 second base stun. With two of you, even bosses will be stunned until they stagger out of the radius. I've tried this on a couple of Defenders and it works like a charm.
Dark Embrace looks nice IMO, and Soul Drain is a useful power for dual emps, who can easily survive long enough to get in close and saturate it.
    You made Rob said DrMike.....

Oh well, this is the honest advice I was looking for... DRAT, I will have to plug this new info into MIDS and see what comes of it... but again... DRAT.

So you think Dark is the way to go eh? lemme look.

BTW I am taking your advice on Thunderstrikes do you have any slotting (reasonably priced) for the AoE attacks? if you were gonna slot Archery powers how would you do it (...cough...need a build....cough)

I usually use it as a set mule, and minor melee minion defense, as they get confused walking into melee range for a short time.
Well, I would have 2 of them going at any given time so it's a Mag 4 (combined) rather then a Mag 2, I am hoping this would be the difference maker actually.
  12. Hey All,

So I am trying to decide what APP to pick, and Psychic Mastery seems the most "Controllerish" of the bunch. I like controllers but they are so boring to play, but getting a little control on my defender seems like a great idea!

Not only do you get a Ranged AoE Sleep, but a PBAoE (just when you need it cause I don't wanna the meele types hitting me) Confuse toggle. Now with my EMP duo I have really unlimited endurance and thats without the Stamina changes so toggles are not an issue but what I was wondering has anyone tried it and does it make a real difference, the AoE Sleep kinda goes against all the AoE goodness my Archers have, but then again a confuse helps alot but only if it will work. I guess I have been spoiled by Seeds of confusion a little and I am hoping this will be a little like that (outside of the Ranged/PBAoE thing).

So, can anyone give me a review of this power? Keep in mind I have a Duo so I would have 2 of them going at any given time.

And, if I could ask, what is the most popular or best APP/PPP (since we can do both now) and why?

Should be easy to swap the Thunderstrikes in and the sets I used out, you 'll just have plenty of ranged defense extra for any debuffs that hit (like Quicksand's auto hitting defense debuff) and a bit less health. With an exchange of buffs the duo would be soft capped vs "everything", capped recovery, etc., etc.. About as indestructible as Emp duo's can get. It's also very exemplar friendly with most of the sets functional at level 22+.

Geas of the Kind Ones can be toggled on to simulate the +recovery, +recharge and +to hit of having AB and Fortitude buffs applied to you (roughly). Defense values while Geas is on will be 10% lower.
But...But... you removed Hover/Fly.. YOU MONSTER!!

I'm gonna put this into mids and tinker with it, not hovering is gonna be an issue since I like to hover up and get out of meele range when possible (they hit too hard).

I do like fitting in Tough/Weave though....
  14. Hey All,

I am not the greatest when it comes to using Mids and slotting, I don't have the experience or expertise to do it properly. I should point out that I have maybe 1 or 1.5 Bill for both toons, so I am not looking to go SUPER expensive.

I've included a sample of what my build is the slotting levels are not correct as I just added slots as I went along, you'll notice I left out a power at level 35, I have some slots left over for that power, I cant decide what I want, Stunning Shot is an idea but if you look at my APP I will have a AoE sleep at 41 so I am not sure I'll need it. Ranged shot is another option, once I get RoA I will stop using it until I get the AoE sleep. There is also Combat Jumping for DEF or the Rez, I am not sure.

Please feel free to mix and match sets, the only one I am sure that I want is the Thunderstrikes that I have in the powers it can be slotted in.

This team is a Emp/Archery Duo so I will have perma Fort and all the aura's on both toons (and AB at 33 I think I have to do the math) so that explains the lack of EndRedux in any powers (and now, with I19, free unslotted Stamina LOL)

    Thanks!

    1) Being able to tell your detective or contact (red side or whatever) what foes you wish to fight so you don't have to abandon/select/abandon till you get who you want.
    2) Tell whatever detective that your talking too (or contact) that you wanna use him/her instead of the one that the game assigns you.

    Also,

This change is great, there are a few characters that I gave up on cause the run till stamina made them no fun to play, forget the nay sayers!
  18. Humm see to have found a flaw in my great plan.

Looks like the Zombies do not target the target of my MM (which is my brute), I want to play the brute and have the MM as the backup so they should be on the same target but when I have the Brute targeted the MM's pets say no target... Any ideas?
  19. This is a long overdue and fantastic change.... Current Dev team, where have you been all my gaming life?

    - Abandon Radio/Paper Mishes (Check)!
    - Fixed (as far as I know) OSA Bug (Check)!
    - Custom Color powers (Check)
    - Stamina for everyone CHECK!

  23. Hey All,

I'm looking to pair a Scrapper with a MM and I was wondering since I have no real experience with MM's which set would have the most Melee center'ed pets to rush in and join with the Scrapper?

Also, which secondary would you suggest? I am thinking that FF is an obvious choice, not sure how well Pain Domination fairs, the buffs dont seem as good as Emp (well, except perhaps the tier 9).

Any suggestions? which pets and what secondary to go with a Scrapper?

Done that, it actually works well, once you get the hang of your cones, I played it till about 40 or so, then my Altitus kicked in and I did something else.

You'll do great damage and having Fort up all the time plus AB plus all the other Aura's is great, the Sleep power that Sonic has comes in handy as a soft control too.
