  1. @Death: ok so I should get confuse? I actually had an extra power I was unsure of what to get :]

    uhm..I'm thinking about dropping soul tentacles and possibly getting gloom for another ranged single target.

    for dominate, I put thunderstrikes in it because I like to think of it more like subdue, an attack that just happens to also have a hold, and not a hold that does damage.

    I was unsure of mental blast verse the telekinetic blast, but I figured mentle blast, because of the no knockback, would have been better?

    and I'm also looking at the basilisk IO set you were talking about, gives the same bonuses as thunderstrike so I might actually go for that xD

    and I'm not gimping him by slotting for onto ranged defense, yes that's my highest defense, but all of the defenses, with a 2nd maneuvers, go to at least 38%, and with mind link well above it.


    @phro: I just don't like perma-mindlink, it's a preference. and I do use my toggles, what I meant was I wanted to get it as high as possible WITHOUT them so that when I use them, it'll push it further.
  2. so I'm finally leveling my fort to 50.


    I have some questions.


    Idealy, because of my play style, I want as much ranged defense as I can get, preferably near softcap without the toggle buffs on, or as close as possible.


    I'm just...not sure which powers to take exactly.

    I know I want to slot my ranged attacks for thunderstrike IO sets...

    not sure about my defense powers. is weave and the double maneuvers even plausible? will that suck up too much end?

    I don't need perma-link and I don't need super omg recharge, either. I want my defense.

    I skipped over haste because I actually really don't like to use it. Even on my blaster, I just don't.

    I must warn you, you'll probably get a few people nagging you about your character being from Japan. [Japan doesn't exist in Praetorian earth anymore, only in Primal.]

    ^-- the above is because Praetoria's city is supposed to be the last city on Praetorian earth, which is why it's a 'utopia'. Then again, they never clarified if it WAS the last city, or ONE of the last cities.


    Pilots....sonic might be good and say it's like...concentrated air pulses or something?

    energy blast Recolored with orange and red(what my praetorian uses) looks alot like Solar-energy blasting, which would work for someone who takes to the skies often.
  4. The Lightning Strike initiative [Shameless pluuuugggging]

    Is fantastic, I joined it, and there's more than 3 people on every day, near constant opportunities to RP, everyone is really friendly, oocly and ICly have great senses of humor and are nice for the most part.

    We only have one grumpy IC person, and he's a praetorian.

    uhhhhhm. Events and stuff are regular, and sunday nights are SG nights, which is cool ^^

    The palladium sentry, is also very nice but has to be applied for in order to GET an interview.

    uhm....I came back also, like Lady, to re-realize how open the RP community is, because...well, it really is the ONLY /good/ superhero MMO on the market still, and always has been. So the lore is open to have so many possibilities that it makes it just fantastic.

    yeah, and no they wont let you roll an actual villain with hero AT's and vise versa, because then what would be the point of even having seperate AT's in the first place :P

    Praetorians= can be any archetype without being a hero or villain.

    I'm interested to see what new praetorian content they release for the higher levels when they merge the worlds for everyone :'D

  8. Yeah there's really no point in logging in.

    Globals are completely down, and it rubber bands so bad that I literally can't get 50 feet away. I'm standing right next to a badge and have spent 5 minutes trying to get it, but it rubberbands me back to where I logged in =.=

    My character Magisterum, is...well, is personality is based off me, and I gave him my german herritage.

    He also happens to have a pretensile blue, fuzzy barbed tail, and before he learned to shapeshift, his skin was also blue and fuzzy...

    He doesn't teleport, and doesn't have yellow eyes or blue hair, but I guess you could say right now, he worked his way up to being a homage to Nightcrawler.

  15. Thematically, thugs could be used from a vigilante standpoint....good without being TOO good.

    And, in cannon. Desdemona went heroside, and Infernal is heroside, and they both use demon summoning...I think the cannon storyline is that demon summoners bind the demons against their will, so... a Hero who can summon demons could FORCE the demons to be good.

    Necromancy...well, the zombies can be forced to do good...but the liche is always evil so idk.

    Idk...I'm tempted to roll a Hero-side MM but I know that's going to be a majority now.
  16. wanting to make me a corruptor for GR.

    my main is a blaster...Fire/MM, which I love.


    I already have a blaster build that would give softcapped Ranged defense, which is what I want because I play quite like...well...a blaster, I hover above the enemies and stay away.

    I'm wondering...if It's viable to Softcap ranged defense on a fire/kin corr or a fire/rad corr?

    and how much in general it might cost to softcap them? If it's too difficult, I'll probably just make another fire/MM
  17. Thanks Silas I'm not gonna follow your build completely, but I jotted down a couple of the things from it which will generally give e a much better idea :]

    I plan on TRYING to get it as close to softcap as possible without any buffs, and then having the buffs be a bonus.

    I'm wondering, should I put anything special in stamina? and should I put a numina's cova in health for the defense boost?

    aaaaaand should I put any zephyrs in my travel powers?
  18. I don't want to rely on perma-mindlink...

    I don't neccesarily want to rely on any buff at all, , I just want to have softcapped ranged defense without having to give up anything much for it, and I don't want to be bothered with clicking away at a power over and over.
  19. ok so I'm working on making a fort, well...right now it's a NW for leveling, and it'll be a fort soon, 19 levels to go :3


    but uhm....I'm wondering...

    I want to softcap my ranged defense, and still manage to do reasoneable damage with all my little psi powers.

    I've already decided on taking hover and fly, just because it's a better playstyle for me, and I have maneuvers.

    what other power pools should I get? I have fitness of course, for health and stam, not sure what else though.

    and do I softcap the ranged defense excluding the maneuvers buff? so that there's an even higher defense buff? or do I use the maneuvers to get to the softcap.

    So far i'm thinking of using quite a few thunderstrikes in my single target attacks, posi blast in my psychic scream.

    not sure what to slot on anything else though.

    Stalker v. Widow

    I prefer widows, and only for a few reasons

    yes, team buffs, yay.

    Initially, the widow is much more versatile, in that...well night W vs Fortunata w.

    both can have some psi attacks, which is cool, and they have both ranged and melee attacks.

    stalker has more crit, but I think in the end, widows are a bit more surviveable, and easier in the end to softcap without having to run as many toggles.

    widows are more of an aoe thing though
    and fortunata are akin to a blaster/controller/tank in some situations.

    really depends on playstyle, but on a team, and sometimes solo, in my opinion, widow trumps stalker.

    hey hey now, I recall sometime last year there was an SG called "The Fallen" that were a group of vampires whose leader was originally from a different planet, they were a bit more on the human/demonic side, but if I recall they had a solid story and were amazing group RPers....I kinda miss them.

    I remember they used to have public disputes with one of the lycan packs.

  24. I think I 'm gonna roll him as a Fire/rad after all, I was playing with one today and like the buffs/debuffs a little better for my theme, plus it's easier to get the color I want on rad.



    I was wondering if someone could help me convert the build I made into a fire/rad build?I think the fire part I had pretty decent, but I'm not sure about the /rad part of it.

    but the build my friend made for me, sacrifices having the power haste, but...still has some pretty good recharge, and might sacrifice a tiny bit of recovery, but it's softcapped and managed to keep a very high damage index.
