haha our builds are almost identical except I took incinerate instead of greater fire sword and I took kick instead of boxing.
xDD
hm....does the extra health/regen really make much of a difference? I'm thinking extra resistance is always good....but the cardiac's range wont effect me. -
Quote:o.O I had a SS/shield beforehand, and I didn't really like it.2 problems: To get SD to be as defensive as fire defense (against their best farmable targets) you need more defense bonus sets, which would eat into potential farm-efficiency sets. (even if admittedly it is easier to slot 5 LotG into SD-based builds) Also, SS is better than fire melee for farming because of rage.
but also, I'm not geared towards one specific type of farm, in fact....I'm not even a FARM specific build.
I'm just able to farm extremely well with not 1 problem whatsoever. -
uhm...well, personally....I find scrappers are like a mini melee blaster, but I do find them less surviveable.
The way I've built my brute, It's almost indistinguishable from a tank(I actually almost made him a tank) the only difference....is that my brute does alot more damage, faster, and has sliiiiightly less HP.
I'm a fire/shield brute and I've tanked TFs just fine....it's pretty much the same as a Shield/Fire Tanker except that I mow everything down faster.
fury+ against all odds= my best friend.
Phalanx fighting isn't bad either :3
there have been situations where I've been outshined by tanks, obviously....but as far as survivability and damage goes, I'm on top.
I find it odd, however, that I'm still not as unhittable as my Fortunata. -
what the other two said.
Most.....very stable teams(not just people doing simple missions) look for very specific ATs...
people want controllers and doms for the HARD controls.
Tanks are...well....tanks.
Most brutes that have a good IO build are just as durable as tanks, and do hella more damage.
Scrappers too.
Defenders are always useful for buffs/debuffs.
blasters are pure damage
And I think the main thing is....chosing epic ATs, the arachnos ones(I'm biased I guess) are so much more superior compared to the Hero epics, that the hero epics just seem....bad. -
double maneuvers and assault= good.
double tactics is a bit.....eh.
I mean the bonuses are nice, but they shouldn't be needed at level 50.
At level 50, builds should be decent enough to where they don't need the tiny sliver of bonuses that tactics gives.
You're better off either getting one of the epic pools or medicine instead of wasting 2 power points on tactics.
if you REALLY like the bonuses of tactics, keep it. all depends on your playstyle. -
ahhh ok....
because initially I was leaning towards musculature, but with against all odds, I really don't need it...
and then I was thinking cardiac because it has the extra resistance buff in there.
so now it's between the recharge and the cardiac for me. -
ok so....I don't know how to post my build here, so I'm just gonna give you the stats.
with all my toggles running, I have 1.84/s end. drain. (including against all odds and focused acuracy) with 3.77/s recovery...so I should be pretty good on endurance.
melee, ranged, and AoE defense are softcapped, with everything else at about 20% defense(without putting one with the shield on and such.)
most resistance are also around 20%, smashing and lethal are at 48% resistance.
recharge without hasten is at 62.5% and 132% with hasten on.
my.....advice needed is, well.
1.] I took hover and fly as my travel powers, because thematically I like those better than jumping and stuff. will that hinder me?
2.] what alpha should I be taking? I'll be lvl 50 soon when the weekend hits and....I don't really need endurance....but I'm not sure if I shoudl take damage or...recharge or something else. -
my farming build is Fire/Shield/Energy Mastery.
I know I could have picked pyre mastery for the Fireball, but energy mastery made me a little more hardy.
what I do is pop build up, and then shield charge+fire sword circle into the mobs, which usually takes out all minions and leuts. Then I just quickly finish the bosses off. -
oh, also, What alpha should I plan on taking? I have enough recovery to never have end issues already....
-
k so I decided to roll a Fire/Shield brute....just to get a better feel of melee before I decide to tank it up.
So far, with the build I have, with hasten it'll have 142% global recharge.
I'm unsure of whether to take the grant cover skill or not, though. -
I've heard rumors that shield/electricity is a FANTASTIC tank build and I was wondering if I could get some of the pros and cons of it, and some general opinions.
Idealy if I make one, I'd want to slot it out, get lots of recharge, and maybe be able to spam shield charge/lightning rod. -
yeah I have that too, but no matter how many bosses I kill, my counter doesn't rise.
-
Widows can end up being superior to most of the other combination archetypes.
Also, are more versatile, the only real archetype with more than 3 damage types (toxic, lethal, psi, smashing, negative.)
Uhm.....team buffs, we can have double maneuvers, double assault, mind link is one of the best buffs for teams...Foresight is the best defense passive buff....
Fortunatas get the best single target boss stun in the game.
and well, soldiers I hear(haven't played one) are either single target powerhouses, or AoE powerhouses.
also, I THINK(not sure) that the arachnos maneuvers and assault are more powerful than the leadership pools, and also....soldiers get those nifty robots :3 -
I put damage on my blaster, because I figure in the higher tears, damage will be even more...and I don't really have a problem with recharge at all :3

My bio consists of The stats like his real name, height, eye color, etc.
And then the rest of it are key notes, not an actual story. A summarized note compilation of what's found on his Virtueverse(which I need to organize ><)
Recently I found that the powers I gave him are a bit OP, so I added in quite a few limitations that are rare among the people who RP as demons.
I'm quite satisfied.

while I'm asking stuff also.
Should my fortunata have foresight?
I took fighting for weave instead of foresight, and I'm wondering if foresight might have been more useful, even with minimal slotting on it? -
Alrighty so...I have my Fortunata nearly IO'd out fully....with it only missing one set, which is a purple one that I don't have enough inf for.
I was contemplating making build 2 a night widow....and while I know the basics, I'm not sure how they differ, and what skills are essential for the night to take.
if anybody could give me basic advice on how the build of the NW will differ from my fortunata, that would be fantastic :3
I'll edit this post with a build if I happen to mids one -
I like my main's name...except that it was 'Magisterium' before praetoria was created, and then when GR went live, I was forced to change it to Magisterum.
-
color change for fortunatas and SoA is kind of meh, it wont happen(anytime soon) because they want them to at least LOOK like the characters they ARE. An NPC arachnos wont be shooting yellow or green beams from their mace, you shouldn't be able to either.(in their logic)
I do, however, feel that we should have access to the alternate animations...Considering most of the Fortunata's skills are dominator/controller/psi blast skills anyways.
Color change, however...will not happen anytime soon, just as it wont for peacebringers and warshades.
Patron powers won't ever be customizable by color because unlike ancillary, they're skills that are directly attached tot he NPCs you get it from. Mako's sharks and Ghost's soul tentacles wouldn't just...change colors all willy-nilly, IMO. -
my blaster is fully IO'd out and has no survival or end issues.
also with the new alphas does hella more damage. My main however is a fortunata, I like being a brick wall of defense.
still, I love blasters, but then again it's my playstyle -
Radiation can also work for jubilee-esque powers if you mix very bright colors together.
-
I'm having the same issue, except that my client successfully downloaded a small patch
but it wont let me access the servers -
yeah when my coalition ran it, I had......prior events that needed to be taken care of out of game, so I missed it.
I'd definitely be interested if someone's forming one anytime soon. -
Well this couldn't come at a more opportune time
Magisterum was just featured in Europe's Out magazine: Hero edition.
So, I'm sure I'll have no problems popping up with him ^^
after all, Sentry parties are always fun.
see you there.
