People underestimate just how GOOD Static Field actually is, even many of the ones that like it.
Besides being a sleep that reapplies it self, it is also:
A 40% movement slow
A 30% recharge debuff
And something that helps low level characters a LOT
1.88 end (Unslotted) returned per enemy per tic.
This with the general consensus of a 4 sec tic rate is 0.47EPS per enemy.
In comparison unslotted Stamina is 0.42 EPS. -
I have just rolled the same combination. I got tired of the sluggish animations of stone.
Electric Control and Icy Assault works nicely together at capping out the recharge penalty on enemies.
Static Field is a pretty good recharge debuff at 30%, combined with the 50% of Chilling Embrace it will cap out +1's.
If you then add in Ice Sword Circle(Or other AoE's with recharge debuffs of atleast 10%) you will cap out +3's.
Ofcourse all sets with Powerboost works nicely together with the end drainage of Electric Control. -
I found that you only really struggle as Elec/ before getting Static Field.
Once you get that you go from having trouble with 3 +1 minions to getting hit once maybe twice from double that amount of minions. Once Static field runs out, everything will be drained of end and you'll be able to mop up the last few left standing.
Static Field also returns a lot of end if theres a decent amount of targets. -
Quote:Mind is good for soloing because it is good at all stages of the game.Plant

Not sure why Mind ranks so high on so many lists, it's not that great at soloing on a dom until 32 and even then it's still beaten by other sets. You can solo with anything, but best? I don't think so. It needs too much recharge to be top tier and other sets are top tier right out of the box.
Fire can be unsafe even on a troller so a dom is going to have it pretty rough if any mistakes are made farming solo.
Grav is just horrible. I'm sorry, it is. I know some people love it but it's a very broken set imo and under performs compared to every other control set in the game. Stay far far away if you value your sanity, unless you have some sort of concept you just have to try.
You start out with Mesmerise and Dominate from level 2.
You can now render any 2-5 mob spawn powerless while you have one held to wail on.
You can Hold - Sleep - Hold a boss to get them held without taking more than a single shot at you when Domination is down.
Early access to a single target Confuse.
At level 8 you can get Mass Hypnosis, which means you will have a whole group controlled for you to hold one to start killing without them ever taking a shot at you.
That's all you need until your powers mature and you may want to start doing a bit of AoE damage.
At 26 Terrify opens up, an Cone fear that does pretty decent damage while also soft controlling everything it hits.
And that is what makes Mind so good for soloing, the only real rivals for early reliable control is Plant with Sporeburst and Earth alternating Disorient and sleep.
/Edit Ofcourse Electric Control have now proven to also be a good soloing set, with an excellent pulsing Ground Target Sleep. -
While I cannot back up my claims. (Stupid faulty hardware eating my videos and screenshots) Arcana is (as always) correct.
Powers have always started the recharge after the animation. It has been that way since atleast the last couple of beta builds before the game went live. -
Not really, the Hadoken is holding the hands steady while gathering energy between them, then thrusting them forward to release, theres no attacks in KM that does that.
It's all Tai Chi moves, which Water Bending is based on. Making them look a lot similar. -
Quote:KM does look a lot like water bending if you turn it blueI just have a lowbie Kin/Dark in Praetoria, but he works well so far and it's nice having a solid ST chain at low levels (need to tweak the color of his attacks to get them to look right, but I'm going with the idea that his attacks are water based by using power customization, which is nice... never liked the "powers of the underworld!" feel of Dark).

Quote:... Ice Storm is in Ice Blast, you know the Blaster Primary power set.Yea, my ice/ice blaster is overpowered too. I got a stoopid Blizzard AND an Ice Storm, even though ice storm is in my 2ndary, i think it does WAY too much damage with my stupid Aim AND Build Up.
Not to mention that it does less damage than the Equivilant in Fire Blast, due to also giving -10% recharge. (Interesting that 10% recharge is worth a 7% damage diffrence) -
Quote:The regen cap is quite high.I went with a Regen/Recovery theme also with my set bonuses. Regen is 3.08 without baddies helping Rise to the Challenge. My EndRecovery is 4.52/s. Total hit points is 3147...not too far off the cap. Build available upon request.
I'd love to hear how people are getting numbers like 476% and 565% without RttC. What sets do you have and how are you not hitting the regen cap?
Starts out at 2100% at level 1 for Tankers and ends at 2500% past level 20.
Scrappers have a higher cap with 2200% at 1 and ending at 3000% past level 20. -
Thats pretty cheap for a capped build. Mind posting it?

It also allows you to get up holds on a boss without being in domination. Hold - Sleep - Hold, most of the time it will happen quickly enough that the boss doesn't even get a shot off. -
