It sits next to shadowy presence in the pile of.... things that just take up space.

Indeed. As much as I hate malta, like the masses. I liked that mission. Unlike those arachos missions that require to recue someone only for them to get killed by aoe splash before you free them or they get freed but get mauled by the ambush or decide to go charging into a mob like their me or something. Those are ones that need to be hit with a nerf bat. /rant
On a more related note. I decided to give in and run Riez with the relic build that's been on him since the days sic dervish was the primo pbaoe set and I didn't know what mids was. Gonna go for spiritual Wish me luck. -
I did the arc and one task force on my claws/regen last night (lgtf) and got 13 shards total. I used vanguard merits to craft a GM and I sloted a spiritual for the recharge. Have 5 shards and a hero 1 componet left. All I need is ITF so I can upgrade. I'm a little upset Riez (BS/Regen) is in the middle of an IO overhaul and is unplayable. Although I could use the old build but I want to break out with the upgraded one.

Quote:Actually, no one on my team got any shards that mission. For me, it was 5 on the first, 3 on the 2nd, 2 on the 3rd, 0 on the 4th, and 2 on the last. I think the last could have dropped more if we stayed for all the abushes and cleared the last room.Hmm. Maybe weakened Hami and his Mito friends are dropping regular Hami quantities of shards? That makes the LGTF quite useful
I was very surprised at how easy it was to accumulate shards. From the Beta chatter it sounded ike I'd maybe get a total of 1 or 2 last night, but in fact I got 20 from 5 TFs. -
I didn't get to play long. Only enough time for the arc and a non speed beat up everything you see LGTF. Got 12 shards from that. I crafted a GM with merits and coverted the shards for a spiritual. I have 5 shards and 1 Hero 1 componet left.
Tonight, the plan is one ITF and I should be able to upgrade to the uncommon. That is if I get the type of shard drop I got from the LGTF last night. After that, ill look for an Apex and Tin Mage. Then its on to the next alt. -
Quote:Yup. Its cool.Taking my Katana/Regen scrapper through Ramiel's arc, and I got to the Honoree/Holtz mission.
Cutting a swathe through the rikti spawns when I noticed something. Whenver you hit a Rikti Drone, there's a new sound effect. A sort of electronic 'chirping' noise, like a muffled R2D2 burble.
Didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes, so am I imagining it, or has someone else heard it, too?
I like it though -

I agree that the shadow shard should be co-op. However, this statement isn't true.
Quote:You can get them by doing tech nylar's, Pither, or one of the patron's arc (either sic or BS. I forget).its hard for villains to get the Rularuu weapons compared to the heroes who have like, 4 zones full of Rularuu minions.
A solo hero still has to wait till 40+ to get the weapons the hard way (Hunting 100 overseers). While a solo villain simply needs to do a short story arc at 35 (Technician Nylar in Nerva). -
Quote:Hmm... Maybe they should set up NPCs that allow you to type in passwords to unlock content. How about this. Go to the character selection screen, pick a character that hasn't unlocked anything, and press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Eenter.I'm sure this is old news to a lot of people, but some people don't read up on the details of issues before they're released.
Maybe I'm alone here, but I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE having to do missions to unlock content. It's probably the biggest complaint I have with the game. Capes, Auras, ITF, even Patron powers. It is so irritating to have to do a certain arc just to be able to go do some thing fun/interesting. I have like four level 50s who can't access capes just it's such a pain to unlock them.
I've been told it's a short arc, but I really don't care...Having to do it on every toon I want Incarnate access on would be so tedious. I didn't think it would be easy or quick to be able to become Incarnate, but having to do a story arc is just annoying. I don't expect to use the Incarnate system at all. -
RttC is the only power out of the choices you have that can slot that set that will benefit from all of the enhancing values. So, if you were to slot the full set, that would be best place based on getting the most out of the set.
Something to keep in mind, though, is the recovery proc won't work unless there is a mob around due to how the power works. Its not that big of a deal because you only need it on when using end and not standing around. Just thought I'd let you know before you look at your attributes and see it not being activated.
Another thing to wonder about is if it will stop working once you are out of range of all mobs due to the way they changed proc powers to turn off when the toggle is turned off. I know the toggle isn't off but it is inactive when a mob isn't in range.
Personally, I'd find another source of those bonuses and put the miracle rec proc in health so it will always be on regardless of what's going on. -
I laugh at this everytime I re read the first page.
-
I had a good time cutting thru the gauntlet known as Praetoria with a claws/regen scrapper. the attacks are flashy, fast, the end cost is low, and regen gets fast healing and quick recovery early. Add that in with inherent fitness and you ignore your blue bar with the exception of end drain mobs. Also, you won't be taking a pause waiting for something to recharge.
-
That's cool to know. Ill keep that in mind if I'm ever slotting for s/l def on an alt with elm.
I wonder why the ToD proc won't work that way. Or maybe it do and I'm just blind. I do tend to fade into scrapper lock a lot so it could be an oversight. -
On any other aoe comparison with dark O, I'd go with dark O. This time, I say shockwave.
I hate KB too but hate uncontrolled KB. As in somebody else KBing my target while I'm in the middle of an attack chain or I'm trying to hit a mob with spin and a in comes an explosive blast.
Shockwave buys time to recover in the middle of a fight, if needed, and its a cool looking finishing attack. Knocking a mob into a wall and them not getting back up is hard to beat. -
This. I have a dream to one day throw blinding power slotted with the confuse purple set on a mob and make them fall asleep, run in and smash the ground with my fist and make them drop. Then, they will get up and start to fight each other. Then I will laugh.

I'm going to be using the spiritual tree on several of my scrappers. The heal is not like the 4th numina bonus. It works in heal, regen, and +hp powers that can be enhanced with heal enhancements.
My SS/WP/soul brute on beta is rounded out nicely with it. Its going to look real good on my DM/SR scrapper as well as my /regens, my DB/ela, and my fire/fire scrapper.
The nubers work will have to be done with the others to figure out what will be needed the most. I know I can get them all but I want to know what works best so I can get that one first. -
Dang. 20 50s to choose from. It took some thinking but I'm gonna have to go with Riez my BS/regen scrapper. I haven't updated his build in a while this is perfect time to. I will be using the spiritual tree, of course.
-
I have a few scrappers and brutes that couldn't fit in more then foc acc due my need to mix min/max with being flashy. This will allow me to get the other two powers I wanted and well as something else.
Also, all those alts I rolled that had SS because the build was too tight to get leaping pool will be getting SJ... too. That's gonna be a blast.
Might pull a few KB protection IOs from my fire/fire scrapper and claw/DA stalker (got 3) and just have one and acerobatics.
This also opens up room to get opressive gloom on my claw/DA stalker.
In other words, unless you have some desire to just totaly change your slotting and build to add in powers that need slotting to be effective, this a total win in my book. Although, I would not complain if they happen to decide to add about 3 to 6 more slots. -
From my experience with SS/WP brute, DB/WP scrapper, and DB/WP brute it comes down to the PPP/APP. For SS/WP, soul mastery takes it over the top for AOEs.
I tried soul mastery with DB but the redraw is so annoying even with using the soul mastery aoes first.
In the end. When you use AV + Sweep, you end up using more attacks and doing more positioning to get the same outcome of jumping in the middle of a mob and firing off Dark Obliteration + foot stomp.
Not to say that cutting up a large mob with your blades isn't satisfying.
As far as weaken and empower, I had weaken and empower on a high level and found that I was forcing myself to use them. The time attempting them could be spent using sweep and av. Its not hard to run either of those back to back.
I look at it this way: Why spend time trying to lower their to hit when I can knock them down and stop them from attacking all together? Or why waiste time with two un buffed attacks in order to get a long buff when BF+AV can be run over and over thus staying buffed? -
I have it on my plant/rad/earth troller. Fun power. Even if you don't spend most of the time close range, anyone that runs up on you unexpectedly will pay for it. Stacks well with EM pulse, too. Just watch the end bar.
-
I have ToD in chain induction on my elm/regen. If they follow the same rules, it will only check the first target. I say this because I've never seen it proc on any target but the first.

I have one maybe two alts I plan on making a big change in the build that requires more then 10 IOs to be replaced. So, ill be using the i18 respec to pull some. Then the i19 respec to pull the rest and to get the free fitness. Other then those situations, no builds, respecs, new alt rolls, or playing with low level alts till i19. Although, I may have to make an exception and play with the low levels douring the invasion event next month.
