I got on test and rolled an elec/regen and a DB/elec. The elec/regen is goning to be a challenge. I like challenges. The DB/elec is going to be a monster!! Except vs valz. lol Toxic dmg is a PITA!! At least they are weak vs... hell everything. The kicker is i wont see them again by the time I get energize. Until then i'll just have to get them before they get me. Not looking forward to positron TF. Cant wait to do synapse and the Katie Hannon TF. Wait a sec... You will be abe to a) exemp down and keep powers up to 5 levels your combat level and b) get XP while exemp. Guess ill just wait to lvl 20 to do positron.

Quote:Who ever here that is going to play their high level scrappers on the "treat me as 1 person. Reconize me for being able to fight 0 levels higher then me mob. No bosses while solo" setting say "I". *The sound of crickets chirping echo over the board...*Well if you are farming or in a group I guess another -10 resistance wouldn't be that bad;
Im just saying. This new diff slider is going to change the way we all play the game. Granted, it may have been somewhat less usefull before this change. A power such as melt armor is going to come in handy in any situation a scrapper runs into. If it as as strong as the troller's and corr's version, in the hands of a scrapper, it really would be OP. The tanker version could use a buff though. By the way, what is the -res % of every weapon scrapper's favorite proc?
Back on topic. New body mastery power, pointless for /regens and most /WP builds. Could be of good use to the other toggle heavy sets reguardless of how they are slotted. The power may even open up other end game options. (I trying to be optimistic about this power. Please no replys saying how useles this power is forcing me back into my "We should have gotten Shadow Meld" mode).
I have a queson for the /regen players, though. Would you consider PP as a lvl 49 power if you take body mastery and have another place to put the res/def IO? Unslotted. Unique or +end proc mule or otherwise. -
Ive crit an entire chain on a stalker when im on a large team (3 or 4 in a row not including a hidden one). something ive never done on a scrapper. Also, ive been turned down for pug teams more with my scappers than with my stalkers. Always wanting blasters for dps. Ive heard this argument about people not wanting stalkers on their teams. Ive even gotten tells from friends shocked that I was on a team with my stalker. I guess I just have more luck then others if there is a such thing. Salkers are far from weak and do more then just AS. Anyone that think otherwise is missguided and anyone that plays a stalker as such is doing it wrong.

Yes. There is a dmg cap. I just don't know the number.
Fire/fire is a thing of beauty. I too will miss bof even though I don't have an issue hitting multi targets with it. For i16, ill be loosing BoF, foc acc, conserve power, and laser beam eyes for char, melt armor, fire blast and fireball. Hmm I may keep BoF for the extra recharge with positron blast slotted. Bah now I gotta wait for mids to update to see what I'm going to do. -
I will not comment on epics at this time. I will comment on born in battle requirement change, tier and defeat badge requirements lowered, and... being able to use the Greater Fire Sword for fire sword and fire sword circle. That's quality.
I looked at energize. It seems to heal for the same amount as reconstruction but has twice the recharge time. With the regen effect being enhancable and lasting for 30 seconds, it might help the set take the alpha. It kills the need for aid self for sure but I'm guessing its going to be like having FA with a slow recharging healing flames. At least until it gets IOed.
I will be skipping the tier 8 power for the first time ever on a scrapper when I hit 26 on my elec/regen. Looks like a good level to start the fighting pool.
All in all. This issue looks promising. The 5th are back to fighting council on the streets. Boss farms are dead. Accolades can be gotten easier. You get more merits for story arcs. Master of ITF challenge badge has been added.... The list goes on and on. Simply beautiful.
I didn't mention the difficulty slider because I figured that win goes without saying. You know, we being scrappers and all. -
There is a set in the acc def debuff catagory that has def bonuses. I can't remember the name but I used it on my SD/SS/pyre build to soft cap. It will need two more slots in melt armor. I'd just 6 slot it and put the -res proc in. Having that in an aoe is never a bad thing.
-
In other words, you want to replace the best self heal in the game that doesn't have a + max HP effect with what pretty much is dark blast's life drain? Nah. I like it the way it is.
-
Quote:I would have, but I've been playing on my dark/sr since double xp weekend and will most likely continue to play it till i16 go live. So, I'm going with something different. I picked /regen because:Well judging by your avatar...i wouldve assumed you were going to go my route (Elec/SR)
1) its been over a year since I've leveled one.
2) I have a feeling its going to be one of the lesser used combos when i16 go live. (Don't want to be like everyone else with spine/ela and elm/SD)
3) I want to see what I come up with leveling with my new outlook on set bonuses thanks to the boards.
DB/ela because of lightning reflexes and unlimited endurance. Although, that would most likely benefit a brute more, I want it as a scrapper. That would make scrapper number 10 -
Quote:When was leveling my DM/regen (my first alt to 50), I didn't know anything about the fitness pool or understood the advantages of set bonuses. I was running intergration, sprint, stealth, tough, and weave. I got a lot of use out of dark consumption. At times, I would turn tough off to save endurance. I later respeced out of fighting and took fitness to see a difference. Later ended up respecing out of dark consumption.Anybody tried it as a replacement for Stamina and found it works for them? Did you have a lot of toggles? How much +Recharge or other set bonuses did you have?
The good ol days of mission grinding and street hunting and not knowing what PL or farm meant. -
I will be making an elm/regen scrapper and a DB/ela scrapper. Both will be leveled the old fashion way since they both have sets that are still rather new to me.
My elm/nin stalker is still lvl 12 and I deleted my axe/ela brute before it even got power sync. (Too many nightmares with alpha taking attempts.) I hope with energized, my experience be a little- no a lot different.
I see my first test being the Faultline AVs followed by the Striga arcs and then the red caps in croatoa. My fire/fire scrapper survived this stress test. Let's set what the new /ela can do. -
Quote:By the time you did all that, half of the mob could have been dead using the same amount of endurance. That idea sounds good but wouldn't perform the way you think it would.I don't know something about jumping into a spawn, hitting Invoke Panic then hitting one boss with ToF and the other with Intimidate just sounded really cool to me, but as someone else pointed out Scrappers aren't Controllers. It probably just had more to do with me never seeing a use for the presence pool and finally seeing a use for it that would make me a unique snowflake :P
Kind of reminds me of how I thought my kin/dark defender could drop any mob with Fulcrum Shift +Power Build Up + Black Star. Reading how the powers work made it seem like a good idea but it didn't turn out the way I pictured it. Instead of dropping the mob, they droped to about half HP. At least their to hit would be in crapper so I wouldn't get killed from it. I waited 41 non PLed levels for this combo to be dissapointed.
The point is that it "looks" like a good idea but in practice, it isn't. Not to mention the slots you would have to put into this for it to even be semi effective vs "flipping out a killing them" making them fear for their lives anyway.
If you are adament about trying this. Do it on a 2nd build slotted with SOs or something instead of your endgame build so you will see for yourself and at the same time, won't be hurt by it. -
Ahh. So true. That's what I get for posting half sleep. Stuff slips my mind. How could I forget the goodness of ball lightning and... Damn I can't remember the other two. I guess ill edit later. I'm sure someone will refresh my memory.

Quote:Well, hibernate is a tanker power given to stalkers. Brutes get a high dmg ST and several aoes. Stalkers get a moderate dmg ST attack, a ST hold, and a snipe. Scrappers get a ST hold, moderate ST range and aoes. That puts scrappers in the middle so anything the other ATs get short of the high dmg range and the snipe is pretty much doable.I don't know why people think that Scrappers are likely to get what has gone in Stalker pools. Scrappers and Brutes have much more in common. Shadow Meld and Hibernate were given to stalkers to let them be a little more defensive, Scrappers don't have a defensive weakness the way Stalkers do.
Stalker's defense is far from weak. Low hit points yes. Weak defense no. -
Quote:I agree with you about the whole set mule thing and having to take boxing/kick to get to tough and weave. However, weave stacked with other set bonuses helps a lot. I have two regens. One with fighting and one without fighting. The one with fighting can stand and fight more due to the stacked defense. Its not super high but enough for attacks to miss for regen to do its job. The other regen depends on intensive recharge for clicking heals.I don't really agree with using an attack or click power you never really plan to use as a "set mule". Auto or toggle powers sure because you'll probably be using them alot, but if I'm not planning to use Boxing 1) taking it in the first place seems like a total waste of a power choice, 2) putting precious enhancement slots into it just for set bonus seems that much more of a waste.
*shrug*. Taking the Fighting pool just doesn't feel "right" to me for some reason...
I do respecs every issue and try different concepts. So far, the fighting pool concept has been the most surviveable. I still loath adding that pool due to the need for kick/boxing. But I can't deny the fact that it helps a lot. Maybe i16 will give scrappers a shadow meld clone and I won't have to touch that dreaded pool ever again. -
Quote:I don't see a problem with the powers. Just please tell me you aren't waiting that late for dull pain. That's going to hurt. That's a pretty interesting way to look at Resilience, and looking at my power selection there's not really anything else I need or feel that I'm missing, so I might as well take it at 49 I suppose.
About Dark Consumption, I guess I could slot it as an attack but the guides I looked at for DM have said that the long recharge makes slotting it as an attack pretty pointless, though they may have been talking about SOs and generic IOs and not sets. I could take Shadow Punch instead but I'm not sure if that would be overkill or not seeing as I have about 4 other single target attacks (Smite, AS, Siphon Life, and Midnight Grasp) and I'll also have Dark Blast by 44. I could take Hover instead of AS I guess and take Shadow Punch but as a Scrapper I don't know when I'd ever utilize Hover.
I guess I'll post my build just so you know where I'm coming from but I've only done my power selection so far, haven't gotten into slots yet.

Sorry for not having any color coding to make it easier to read but I can't get it to post colors properly for some reason. -
Resilience is a lvl 49 power at best. The one thing going for it is if you use a wakie, you won't need a breakfree to kill the stun effect. And it cuts down the stun lenght of romi's rez in ITF. You could use it as a set mule for the res/def IO if you don't take tough. Then again, you can also put that in MOG or reconstruction. If you happen to be short on slots and have every power you want, by all means, take it for the mule.
If you have stamina and QR, dark consumption is almost pointless as a recovery tool in most cases. As someone has said already, its a decent attack right after soul drain. I've hit 200 vs lvl 52 slammer bosses (numbers buffed with soul drain and fulcrum and no dmg slots). It takes pbaoe sets with some very useful bonuses thus opening up IO build options. That's how I see it anyway. -
I play tanks also. If I see someone drop, I look at what happen. If its because they went on their own, accident or not, I just say, "oops... I'm over here" and keep moving. They didn't cause a team wipe or massive chaos then its all good. Rez them and let's move. That diva attitude was uncalled for.
The only thing the OP did wrong wait that long to kick him risking the chance a key contributor or contributors might quit because they didn't want to be on a team with drama and it might of looked like the OP was taking the tank with an attitude's side. I've actually seen something similar to this happen. Everybody quit the team one by one and we all ended up reforming without the hot head and the co-signing leader. -
I too will be joining this channel the next time I get a chance to log in. I just hope this don't cut in on the amount of entertainment the thread provides me while I'm at work and can't log in the game.

Quote:That's was fun times. Even the all scrapper 8 man mothership raid. The thread is on the new forums. I was all geared up for the khan tf but i16 went to closed beta and killed that. For now. But that ITF we did rocked. There was an entire thread on this on the old forms on test we did back to back all scrappers TF's on test
We cleared the ITF 1st and the next week we did the STF even with the repairmen bug and completed it all with no nukes or Shavian
It was the STF we did everything normal teams would not do. Let me see if I remember them all:
1. Destroyed all the cables while still in basement.
2. Was fighting COT and vines at the same time.
3. Took out ice minstrel while we were still being attacked by some of the ambushes.
4. Aggroed dr aeon too early.
5. Battled GW in melee range!
I loved every bit of it! We are not normal teams. We are scrappers!
I'm going to find that thread for when open beta starts to see if we can get that khan TF replaned and/or an ITF replay. -

I was thinking dissapointing. Mind you, I could find use for the power if it turned out to be a regen/recovery passive. I would rather it be a def power like a clone of shadow meld. I find it cheaper to slot for recharge exclusively then it is to go for recharge and def. This would work well with /regen and res based sets. Unless the 5th power in darkness mastery is shadow meld. If that be the case, then I'd be able to deal with that. Even though I'd rather have to get foc acc or conserve power over pet gaze or torrent. But that's just me.

My first was also Manticore in the Mender Silos TF on my DM/WP. It just happen that way. I had no idea what that TF was about, I was just bored one day and thought I'd give it a shot. Doing mission after mission blah blah then I get to this mission with the cut screen. I find him and see the Hero tag. I'm thinking "aww crap. I'm still on invincible". Too lazy to quit, leave the zone to lower the diff, and start all over, I just laid into him. I noticed the lack of dmg I was getting and his hp dropping slowly, I figured I could beat him. I did use a few reds though. After that, I was hyped up. I went in the next mission and saw silver mantis, clicked SOW, charged her, then clicked the go to hospital selection. After trip number 3, I came back in and took a look around then hit the quit TF button. Lol. I haven't tried to solo an AV since. Funny thing though. I remember the manticore automation in the rwz arc being a PITA on a team. This guy was a pushover.

sounds like a def or res buff. most likely a def buff. thats what im hoping anyway. on a 2nd note, i wonder what the other new pools for the other ATs will be and what will the new power for Dark mastery and the tanker's nrg mastery be.
-
between blaze mastery and the new power in body mastery, I'm going to have a lot of GFC up for sale and I'm going to miss foc acc...
