  1. The main pains in the posi are the cot ghost and valz. Clockwork aren't that bad. The ghost are weak vs nrg and so are clockwork. Valz are weak vs just about everything. I think elm/regen, elm/wp, elm/ela, and elm/fire would do good. At that level, heals would be ideal. /regen might actually be a tad better due to QR being available allowing you to take more attacks and not needing to try fit in stamina in at 20 and two heals with one granting toxic res.

If Jacob's ladder is more your style then use it. Chain Induction seems pretty nice, IMO. Especially if you're a Stalker. JL only has a 50% chance to crit from hide while CI has a 100% chance not to mention it's fast to use after a placate.
I dont think the problem is with it being different. Its that its the end cost of an aoe attack when its listed, mostly works as, and slotted as ST. I think a middle ground end cost is fair. Any other change would be asking too much.

Or maybe the scrapper's dmg is right and the tanker's dmg is wrong. If that's the case and they change it, I'm sure several tankers will start looking for you.

Seriously, you can't compare shield charge dmg scale to dmg auras. Shield charge is actually a summoned pet so the dmg of the pet's dmg will be the same no matter the AT. Hmm... is this also true for LR?

If I line up 5 guys for Jacob's Ladder, if the main target dies, the other 4 still take damage. Is it a meaningful debate to suggest that it's very tough to get 5 guys lined up? Sure. Is it that tough to get 2? Not really. 3? Maybe. But in either the 2 or 3 man instances, you don't have to make sure that your main target will survive your attack to ensure that it will function as an AoE. That seems like it misses the point of the power just a bit. I'm going to attack you, but I need you to be able to survive this attack in order to make it work properly. (Not to mention the fact that JL does more damage has a faster recharge, and costs less end than CI)

If a bad guy has a brawl's sliver of life left and I use TS on him, I expect him to die and the AoE to still go off. I don't expect to get shortchanged on the AoE.

This is especially true in a team situation when I can't control the amount of damage a bad guy takes. Suppose I've planned CI perfectly to where he'll have some life left and I'll get my jumps out of him and his friends, but at the same time I'm firing CI, someone else finishes him off with splash AoE damage. My AoE is still wasted. Because my AoE had to wait .5 s after hitting to then decide to jump. I'm not concerned with the main target die from my power or from my teammates, but rather that my AoE power didn't function like an AoE. I took the time and the care to do what I could to make it function, which is often a lot more than I have to do with other AoE's, but it still didn't work. Although my El/El scrapper is only 35, that's happened a ton in the 11 levels I've had CI. I'm already busy switching targets to try to use CI on a guy that won't die, and when I find one and press the button, he's either killed or hurt enough for CI to finish him off before the power is able to jump.
Don't forget that the starting attack can miss. Any other aoe that needs a target can still hit mobs in its attack range if you miss the main target. If you miss the first attack with CI, nothing to chain. Yet, you've just used an aoe's worth of endurance on an attack that failed due to missing one target.

Agreed, the attack is useful but I also think it cost too much. If it cost this much now, how much did it cost before the nerf a while back when it had more jumps?

    Jump 3: Accuracy - 1.25
    Jump 4: Accuracy - 1

To put it in perspective, attacks with higher than normal accuracy (Controller st holds, Tanker t9 attacks, etc) have a base accuracy of 1.2.
I thought the chains auto hit. Now that I know that they don't, I'm going to now start seeing shorter chains. I had a ball with it vs skyraiders and them FF gens in the faultline missions. Also was good for fighting tsoo to tag the hurricane using tsoo sorcerer by hitting someone not in the hurricane first. And now that I know its not auto hit, that tactic is going to fail when I go to striga island to fight Bannished Panteons annoying storm shammons. At least they don't teleport.
  6. Sounds like you had a productive weekend. I'm leveling two scrappers DB/Ela and Elm/regen. The DB/Ela I plan on leveling to 50 doing nothing but KHTFs. That one is on Virtue the other is on Protector. That reminds me... Virtue scrappers channel you say?

  10. Let's look at it this way and step back from the flames thrown because I can't co sign on half the reasoning because I play all 3 of ATs. I just happen to have more scrappers then the others. The OP is a "scrapper" player and wanted to know if they played red side, what AT would be the most like a scrapper. Meaning, what would be the easiest transition

Now, looking at the basic form of game play solo or on teams, this is a brute, plain and simple. My first villain was a stalker. Knowing nothing about the AT, I saw that it had the same sets so I thought it would be the same. I was wrong. When you learn to play a stalker, you can play one like a scrapper but it still wouldn't be the exact clone of your play style you had with your scrapper with the same sets. The replacement of most of the aoe attacks and taunt auras play a huge part in this.

With a brute, you can play it exactly the same. No adjusting to the different powers because they are the exact same. You can pick up right where you left off.

Its as simple as that. The fact that a stalker can or can't solo AVs (they can) or can or can't do the RWZ challenge isn't even the point. Not all scrappers or brutes can do those things anyway. The difference in the powers coin a different playstyle. That's not bias. That's a fact.

The problem is picking between those two. Both can soft-cap relatively easily, both have some different advantages...

Which do you think would play with the +8/+0 mob groups better? If both have soft-cap I would assume the shields for the damage. On the other hand SR has better defense debuff resistance and can hit the softcap just a little easier. But it offers no offense at all except the quickness ability.
Oh that's easy. If you plan on keeping spines then /SR is your "only" option between the two. Can't use spines with /SD.

I have 3 stalkers and 2 brutes. I know exactly what I'm talking about. Its true that stalkers have the same power sets as scrappers but the powers are different a in most cases force a different play style.

An example would be a claw/dark stalker. Can you sit there and tell me a claw/dark stalker will play more like a claw/dark scrapper then a claw dark brute would? How about a DM/ela? In fact, even some sets that stalkers have that brutes don't have won't even play like scrappers. Spine/dark stalker vs spine/dark scrapper. Not even close to same play tactics. Just because stalkers have the same power sets in name and they fight in close range, don't make them play like scrappers.

I can take my DB/WP brute and DB/invul scrapper and use the excat same fighting style. I can't switch up and do the same thing with my DB/nin stalker.
  13. Like everyone else said. Brute is what you are looking for. Brutes have most of the same power sets that you are familiar with plus a few more. In addition, furry is a justifiable reason to stay in scrapperlock.

I was afraid of that. The elm/regen is at 22 now. Looks like ill have to up my game in the market. I see 4 purple sets fitting in there. Time to become.... Ebil. In any case, back to the drawing board for that one.
  15. Any input on any of the two builds at all? Been looking at them for a few and can't figure out how to push more def into either of them without altering the concept too much.
  16. I can only pick 3? But I have 10... Ok. Here goes.

1)Would have to be my first 50 ever. The one that went threw the most trial and error. The one I figured out what contacts I liked, what travel powers I liked, and what pool powers worth it, and what IO sets are helpful. All of this before I knew anything about Mids, a test server or paragon wiki. That would be my DM/Regen. Don't sleep on it, people. That combo rocks.

    2) Would be my global name sake. Made due to the desire of not missing and ended up being one of the hardest hitting scrappers I have. It was my 4th 50 so I didn't have much trial and error and pretty much knew what I wanted and needed to do. (Still no mids, test, or wiki) That's my BS/Regen scrapper. Nothing like a good head spliter to make them remember who you are.

    3) Is just level 40 right now but it screams fun all around. DB/Inv. The pure flashyness of Dual Blades combined with toughness that is invul. The strong taunt aura allows me to do use my all time favorite tactic. Corner herding then the sweep combo. Its all about the "Slash! Slash! Slash!" Every time I do that, I get that ECW theme song in my head "Let the bodies hit the floor". The best part about it is they can't hit me. (Unless its psi but I have toys to help with that bothersome hole)

The combo I couldn't grasp was claw/dark. I tried several times but I just couldn't get into it. Its strange because my claw/dark stalker rocks. It seems it would make sense that the same set with a dmg aura and an aoe attack added would be better. Oh well.

I got mine from the link in the thread on the titan site. If you got yours from the same place I got mine, I have no clue why yours is doing that. You should post that issue on the mids bugs page on the titan site.

If you made that build with the unofficial version, even though the official version will open it, it will show up like that. Any build you made with any new power or power set on the unofficial version, has to be redone on the official version or it will read as the buggy build that is caused using the unofficial version. I had to delete the old mids, the unofficial mids, and any builds I made or altered with the unofficial version that had new powers.

  20. Should have asked this on the brute board. I know one of them has to have paired a weapon set with ela.
  21. On my DM/SR, I took FA then PP and slotted it with miracle +recovery, miracle Health, and P shifter + end. Took CP at 49 and left it with just one recharge. With DC and stam fully slotted I really won't need CP but its there just in case.

Same thing I was thinking. Also, not everything has def debuffs. Not to mention the fact that if you don't get hit in the first place, you won't be debuffed. Auto hitters are another story.

Agreed. Def + res + heal/regen + ability to drain end and cause -rec screams all kinds of win. If I wasn't so gun ho about defying the odds with DB/ela, I'd roll a BS/ela. Or maybe a kat/ela since I don't have any kat scrappers.

Dang it! Must... Not... Roll... Another... Scrapper...

Go spines/elec and enjoy the customisation and fun
Conserve power on ELA is as pointless as aid self on /Regen. Power sync takes 30 seconds to recharge with 3 recharge SOs and lightning reflexes. If you cant keep endurance for 30 seconds with stamina and energize, you need to reevaluate the slotting of your powers.

I just had to point that out. Everything else is true though.

In that situation, it will be like FA. The difference is Ela has a higher res to s,l,e,and psi. Neg is about the same. Fire is lower, of course. Toxic res can be gotten with healing flames on FA but can only be gotten with power surge with ela. So, in theory, with the higher res to most dmg, you have a little more time to hit energize on ELA then you would have to hit healing flames with FA.

The question is, is your heal and added regen with energize going to be enough for you to take the next onslaught of attacks? Personaly, I'd make sure they all be dead before I find out the answer. Or drained of all their end.
