Damage increase doesn't scale well against spawn size. A 25% increase in damage output may take you from an x4 spawn to an x5 spawn (no bosses). 25% improvement to your mitigation numbers (defense, disruption etc) can take you from an x4 spawn to an x8 spawn.
In dark's case you have an enormous amount of mitigation from dark pit, torrent, and life drain.
Either way, it's not my choice of mitigation-based set. Ice would be far and first. -

Is there a point to corruptor blast sets other than Fire?
Certainly. As someone who tends to solo a lot, and someone who even occasionally turns off xp in order to make sure I hit all the content I want, I value mitigation on my corruptors. When I made a /Sonic Resonance corruptor, I looked for a blast set that would help me cope with the real lack of mitigation in my secondary. Dark blast was perfect, offering both a -to hit effect, some controls (aoe stun and immobilize), and a self heal.
When I wanted to make a /Kinetics corruptor, I knew I wanted something that would allow me to stay within melee range of my enemies (to best leverage Fulcrum Shift, the heal, and the endurance power). Radiation blast offered a pbaoe blast, a targeted aoe blast that can be used in melee range, a secondary effect that helps my kinetics powers hit (the -defense) and a stun in the third blast to help put mezzing enemies out of commission. Fire blast actually would have been okay here, though the lack of mezzing powers or any mitigation would have meant lots of time running back from the hospital.
My main is an Ice/Cold. I made him before I knew anything about synergy in this game, but in retrospect Cold was only doable by a neophyte like me because Ice's mitigation carried me until Cold's late blooming awesomeness began to kick in.
Because I am concerned about character concept, synergy with my secondary, and soloability at all levels, I almost always choose something other than Fire blast. I do really want to make a Fire/Dark. Fire/Dark has good synergy and soloability, but I just haven't found the right concept yet.
The same goes for Radiation; the damage loss is not worth the -DEF.
Ice would probably one of the only contenders against Fire, due to Ice Storm and a good single target chain. Beyond that?
... Maybe Archery for some shenanigans with Rain of Arrows? Maybe. -
Right, you're more of a "Hit the bulk, move on" type. Which is fine. it arguably works, just Brutes don't have to compromise. But, for your accomplishment, some sacrifices need be made. A lot like Seeds of Confusion; less burst gain, but very, very efficient over time. That is how SoC works.

Also, PokeVoke, which is what you're referring to, isn't a natural AoE. I also do not think it applies to Patron Attacks. I'll double check later.

I am well aware that you have one of the best tools for farming to keep things locked down and to avoid runners, just it does not always work, I agree. Brutes have Taunt and Fences if they went Mu, and many do for this method of lockdown.
Do not say I'm playing dumb when your method of control and execution is left plain and bare. Unless you actually do not use Fences to avoid a spread. But...

So, this is either user-error, or just unfortunate circumstance. Regardless, it is there. And I know how good E-Fences are. I swear by them when able.
But, that is then, this is now. You had a method to prevent runners, it just didn't work as effectively as you'd like.
Melee MIGHT help you in a later date for this specific farm, but eh. Who knows? -
531029? Alright, I'll do a little browsing and see what you're doing. I have an Archery/Fire myself, and while it's no Mental, I can probably duplicate your method none the less. Drain Psyche is a powerful survivability tool, but it's not a necessity in farming I've felt.
Regardless, it does sound like Caves are not your forte', which is an amicable thing to admit to. Kudos for you, you've regained a bit of bowing grace. Everyone can use more of that. -

Where is the proof of a 1-50 in 2 hours, which is a claim people are still demanding but he refuses to back up. All we've heard is "Yeah he's fast", but so is a lemur compared to a turtle. -

That's... fairly awful, for all the gloating. Even with his excuse of "I had runner issues", which cements that he has a massive farming weakness that Brutes (And Dominators, due to submission powers) don't have. All things said, I'm glad there was further testing involved to prove these claims.
1 hour and 52 minutes is terribly slow. I've had lazy farmers who are mostly there to crack jokes while killing spawns beat that. No idea what Screwdriver was doing wrong, aside from lying through his teeth about 1-50 in 2 hours (Proven now this was a lie), but wow. That's terrible for a single cave.
Never the less, I'd like to bring that to attention; a bold faced lie in one of his major claims. Since him and plainguy seem to think I'm a liar and like to attack it like a Mega Atheist toward God, this is just a 'true lie'. Me? Never claimed a single thing. This? Proof Screwdriver is fibbing.
What else is he lying about, I wonder, in his list? Probably a lot of it, or at the very least, any suggestion that he can do ANY of it in any reasonable timeframe is right out the window.
But we knew this already from his GM soloing video.
All in all, good job, Cag. That's an impressive time for a Cave run.
Screwdriver, that's pretty bad. Even if you get the Taunt Aura from Melee, you can't rely on it to boost your speed in any significant margin, due to it's radius and upkeep. Especially when your original claim was so bolsterous, I am forced to point this out.
Could I beat 1 hour and 56 minutes on my Scrapper or Dominator? Probably. I might do a run and see where I fall in, but this isn't my field of expertise, nor do I care to turn this into a further competition debauchery.
The fact is, you've been exposed on one count of your original listing as a blatant liar. This brings your entire list into question of not just legitimacy, but practicality.
Shame on you. The only excuse I can see if this isn't your choice of farming map. If so, what is? You need to start supporting your claims now, more than ever. Instead of attacking other people asking for proof.

Very clever people get paid a lot of money to use maths to figure things out that they can't pratically test themselves, then when the technology is created to perform them tests they are more often than not proved correct.
Maths is a fundamental underpining of life and particularly a computer game which is basically just a spreadsheet with pretty pictures in front of it.
I agree that just because maths says it can be done doesn't mean that any particular person can easily do it, I probably couldn't copy your blaster build and do the same things as you, but I would still know the build was capable of it. Just like when I theorise a build I know what it is capable of in advance of trying things, even if I know I have to push my limits to actually achieve it (Or find out that I am not as good as I think I am and fail).
Reppu not having the ability to practically prove something does not make it false. And to account for player skill the only real way you would know is to make one yourself and dedicate the same time you did to your blaster, because if Reppu did beat you it could be that he is a better player, and if you beat him it could be because you are the better player.
I don't think anyone is trying to say you didn't do well, but honestly if it was the best build in the world you wouldn't be able to move for them, and I hardly see any archery toons since Shield Charge came out and showed everyone that in a fast team all RoA does is corpse blast.
In the end, I'm not being baited by him. He won't get what he wants because he's going the wrong route by it. And in the end, I proved with math what he needed proven with execution, long before the execution was right.
A well-built and played Dominator WILL beat his Blaster in almost every single field, while also covering fields his Blaster cannot. This was proven. This was proven by math, and supported further by execution. And really, I'm glad you've further pointed out what others have been doing for pages now; I proved my Character. I just chose to be a funny with it and allow Screwdriver to continue to flip his lid and systematically destroy himself on a scale of 'public and social grace', while also being complimented by previous adversaries of mine on how I've been doing this with tact and grace. Mission Accomplished.
This thread has been over for a long time. I won in EVERY possible avenue, if we're going to keep pretending this is a 'competition'.

I actually have a screenshot of the Dominator's build right now, but really, I think this is funnier. Why correct it at this point? I find it more amusing for people to keep saying "Zomg Reppu has NO CHARACTERS. Although ignore the Scrapper by the way the Scrapper means nothing".
... Scrapper farms decently well too but not the point.
Nah. Let's keep this one going for as long as it can get. I'll eventually get bored and post the Dominator screenshot. Or, you know, log it on and dance somewhere.
Additionally, even if I went ahead and corrected the screenshot, and by this point it's infinitely more amusing not to, I still won't race Screwdriver. He knows the farm better, and he farms for a 'living'. I do it when I've got nothing better to do, and have run the Atta Map maybe... once? And I couldn't stomach how repetitive it was.
He can have the title of 'I farm better'. God knows it's nothing to brag about.
PS: They both realize the 9+ Pages were me posting about a theoretical Dominator I never claimed to own, correct? I think I have to keep mentioning this. I never once brought up the viability of my own Plant/Dark/Ice. I've retired her and usually only bring her out when I want to see Carrion Creepers explode an enemy group. I juke characters PROBABLY once a month. It sustains me. And the Paragon Market at this point, yeesh!
Again, you can't 'catch me in a lie', when I never said I claimed what I was theorizing in the first place. And yes, that means I broke Screwdriver's 'rules', but I have no reason to follow his rules over the forum rules. Kindly avoid telling people they can't post in a section, Screwdriver, if they don't do what YOU say. You are trying to pass yourself off as a moderator, and that's a bannable offense.
PSS: It's here where I'd like to mention one last thing, since I'll probably check in on this thread maybe once a day to get a chuckle out there. Everytime I log into my account, hit up my character selection, and see my Dominator, I do two things. One: I laugh everytime her existence is disputed. Two: I throw her back into the abyss and work on Other Stuff. But, none of this is actually important, and I shall tell you why;
Screwdriver may be the better farmer, but in the end? I'm the one who is sitting back and smiling to myself. Why? Not because he is getting some sort of happiness out of spiting my own Dominator, for one reason or another. No no, that would be crude.
My happiness comes from the fact that, no matter what, I have never actually attacked the viability of his character, only the title he claims it has won. And yet, despite this stance to be at least marginally kind to the Hindenburg that this thread has fireball'd into, it amuses me that common human grace is absent in his responses to me. And that lack of grace is why I will refuse to reveal my Dominator, in all her glory, to him.
Not because I'm afraid of her build, far from it. I get PMs asking for builds, on the forums or in game, more often than I have been able to keep up lately (Which I also do not charge for, much like my 'powerleveling'.) No, no no. I'm simply waiting for Screwdriver to have a bit of tact, a bit of grace. A tiny bit of restraint, so this fireball may crash and burn, until we get on with our lives.
So long as you continue to Charisma Break, Screwdriver, and plainguy continues to totally flip his lid even after I've been more than willing to disprove him (And have, with out needing him to bother logging onto Virtue. Maybe I'll post my Stalker next? Staff Fighting sucks but she makes it work, baby!), you two are infinitely more amusing to keep on a rampage, than to actually educate and serve.
Because to do the latter would be a service, one neither of you have earned, or unlocked through the Reppu Market.

Simply put, plainguy? You're free to log on Virtue and drop my global a message. I'll gladly do any Emoted Dance you'd like with the Scrapper, or the Dominator. Or any of my Masterminds. Or my Stalker? Take your pick.
Admittedly, the Dominator is /not/ Accoladed. I never found the need to do them. Nor did I claim she was Accoladed. Yeah, they help in performance but /shrug. The other toons have the accolades by merit of needing them for a bench mark. The dominator never had that bench mark to be met.
The only other aside with the Dominator is not having her Gladiator +3% slotted right now (It's in one of my other projects right now), so I'd have to eat an Unslotter to fill that void back in. Otherwise, tl;dr let me know when you want to see the toons.
And, no. Doing the 'farm races' is against my stance. I do not farm to race. I farm friends for prestige and nothing more. And, let's face it; Dechs and I are not friends, so it was not falling in my criteria.
But, again, log on Virtue, hit my global up, I'll log on... the Scrapper. Most expensive build by far and is the proclaimed 'project' with one of my Glad +3%'s. Stalker too. Masterminds are still slotted decently although the AI glitching is making me consider full-stripping...

I'm curious to see the impact that the ridiculous amount of confusion has on rewards earned, since quite a lot of his confused enemies seemed to be defeating each other. My Dominator can also do +4x8 DA, but I guess being +3 Helps with that. Still, it's fun! More people should 'farm' DA. -
And about 9 pages worth of that are defacing your claims and your personality.
