Quote:I can understand the Sash, but some of those Carnival pieces are beyond 'neutral' in the least, and the Imperial Crowns are pretty horrid. I can understand if it's a stance for the neutrality and acceptance of homosexually-open Males, but... let's stop for a moment and really consider that.If they add the boots without adding the missing male SciFi pieces, it will make one thing clear: those of us who want more parts for our male characters will need to get more vocal and organized in our efforts for (close to) equivalent costume pieces. Even after the Carnival of Light packs, Sashes, Imperial Crowns, and more have been locked from male characters while one sided developments towards female options continue, things have been pretty mellow.
I don't think I know a single homosexual male friend of mine who wants the Carnie Thigh-High Boots. I think what quite a few people would do is go for the transvestite route, and lead to even more displays of blatant 'trolling'. I am all for equality, however, but some things need to be considered from other point of views.
Again, how many men would wear the Carnie Thigh-High Boots, the Steampunk Bodices, and such blatantly oversexualized items for legitimate use, and not just to 'troll'? -

Quote:... By further cementing the mentality they need to be 'bad' Dominators/Controllers? Increasing their mezzing capability is going to put one or two of those three ATs into the dog house. It wouldn't even be complimentary, as Dominators and Controllers can AoE gimp a spawn out, while the blast would have... single target focused CC?Not sure if that's a jab at the blasters I use or a jab at soloing at x8 in general...I'll just say I rarely min/max to solo at maximum. I just make the character as effective without going out of my way to aim for performance and pick the difficulty to which offers a decent challenge and is fun.
As was mentioned, I could probably lockdown a +4/x8 spawn on my Sonic/Ice/Munitions if he was able to actually survive long enough to use his powers...that just requires building up survivability. The important point was he has the aptitude of mezzing many foes and then picking them off at his leisure. I'm sure certain combinations of Ice/Energy/ can do it too, relying on Power Boost to lengthen holds and using an epic like EM Pulse, Sleep Grenade or whatnot to trap many more.
It's just a matter of building a Blaster to do that...it just requires choosing certain powers and slotting them.
Where that leads to, however, is discussion of the effectiveness of such tactics on a Blaster. The powers work, but at a bare-minimum. They can effectively hold some *for a time* but the recharge of these powers are prohibitive or the duration is limited. I still think, if this is reviewed and revised, it will turn Blaster survivability around without straight up granting them armor...if armor is needed is a new matter entirely.
I don't know. It rubs me the wrong way to give them more of the core design point of two other ATs. Unless they just give the Blaster set Hold/Stuns/Etc the "Clobber Treatment". A far more sane alternative being the "Cobra Strike Treatment". -
As noted before, this is not exclusive to the Tanker AT. I understand your stigma toward Tankers not being "Superman" levels of overpowered, but at least be fair in noting Cimmys pretty much out damage nearly every AT in the game, straight up.

Quote:Actually, no. I personally tested Form of the Body with and with out the use of Sky Splitter. Sky Splitter being used is not an insignificant damage loss. It is detrimental to the damage performance of the set to use Sky Splitter with 3 stacks of Form of the Body, and you should avoid using it as much as possible. Now gimmicks yes having build up recharge is much better then a little resistance, but SS still has full crit damage as well, so the gimmick is not as big of a factor. Also someone else has mentioned that the lost of the damage buff, I will point out that SS does and extra 30 damage if used at level 3. I know it doesn't make up for the loss of damage on aoes, it does for single target attacks.
Especially true for Stalkers. You're far better off using those ATE crits on Precise Strike than Sky Splitter. Sky Splitter is a terrible attack. -
Concentrated Strike is firmly stronger than Skysplitter, and has a gimmick involved with it WORTH using. It is a very, very solid attack, and is actually top DPA aside from AS in Stalker KM. So, no. CS and SS are two different beasts. One of them sucks.

What I meant before was, for the testing I did, Double Hit outperformed the flat stacking +Damage. If you read the entire thread and saw I said I had been testing Titan Weapons specifically, you would know I corrected myself.
I restate the following: Radial Assault vastly outperformed Core Assault on a Titan Weapons Scrapper, in my testing.
Why I have to state the obvious because of a wicked troll attempt, I don't know. Clarity?
Clarity.
PS: I liked Clarity. She was nice. -
... with the 'top chain' of Radiant > Blast > Bolt, and trying to factor in Perma Inner Light, but not factoring in Perma Heel Procs because that's beyond me at this hour, I'm getting around 140-150 DPS with out Reactive, but factoring in Musculature.
I'm probably horribly off here, because LolPeaceBringerMath. But 140-150 pre Reactive is pretty "meh", especially with a claim as bolsterous as "Only SS/TW Brutes beat it".
A LOT of sets beat that. But, do correct me on the actual total DPS of that chain, please. PBs aren't my cup of tea. -
32 is the second tier equip. 26 is the Boss Pet.

Already been reported on. It's a side effect to an exploit fix. Just stay tuned.

I forgot the EXACT global recharge needed, (It's a lot), but the top chain is Rend Armor > Follow Through > Crushing Blow > Arc of Destruction > Follow Through.
The absolute best you can do. If you hit Build Momentum you simply toss in an extra Crushing Blow and a Whirling Smash to avoid messing up the following chain. This does take around... I think Follow Through needs around 90+% Recharge and then about 170-190% Global Recharge ontop of that. Actual numbers are somewhere on the forums. -
Defensive Sweep is garbage for an /Inv. It's Garbage in general but not the point.
Take everything else. Skipping any of the other AoE's is Missing the Point, and you need Crushing Blow for the ST Chain. -
Quote:Never claimed it was, but I could have been more specific.Right, your test definitely shows that Radial wins for your attack chain, but the question is whether that result can be extrapolated to all powersets. Since TW is unusual in ways that directly affect how much it benefits from doublehit, I'm not at all convinced it is representative. A Gloom-less SS brute might not do so well with doublehit, for example, since only two attacks in the set are really slow, and one of them (Foot Stomp) has an aoefactor of ~3 that penalizes its doublehit effectiveness twice (granted, the brute's lower damage scale might still make Radial more attractive than Core). A Dual Pistols character might also gain less benefit, since HoB is such a key power, but doublehit caps recharge at 20 seconds for its damage calculation (and caps it before applying the aoefactor penalty, which is quite large - 4.75 - for HoB).
Altogether, doublehit damage on HoB should be, according to the City of Data formula,
(0.8 * 20 + 1.8) * 2 * 107.09 / 10 / 4.75 * 0.4
= 32.1, regardless of AT.
Whereas +75% damage from Core adds ~130 to HoB with Incendiary Ammo for a Corruptor, more than four times as much. A Blaster would gain a yet larger benefit.
For Titan Weapons, yeah, Radial definitely wins. For other sets with mostly long-recharge attacks, too. But that's not every set, and double-dipping on the aoefactor penalty might mean Radial generally loses for AoE powers. Needs more testing. -
Quote:I don't like the idea of Core being Always Better Forever, anyway. I am happy to see Radial being superior in some aspects, although I'd prefer they were 'even'.The cycle times definitely are keeping the proc rate high (pretty much 100% across the board as Hopeling noted) and the high base recharge powers keep the bonus damage of double-hit high. That said, if you could maintain the stacks of Core, it should still be better (maybe, I haven't really checked how awesome double-hit gets at the 16 second and 20 second recharges).
This leads me to believe maintaining stacks of Core could be an issue, although it may be particular to TW or even to your specific chain.
Cool info, thanks.
Either way, the tests don't lie. The Core test, even with keeping the stacks rather consistent, was an inferior run to the Double Hit test. -
Quote:Because Stalkers beat you anyway and they don't even get Titan Weapons?Doesn't it seem highly unlikely they will let this stand? I mean, they may for a while, but ultimately it will get "fixed" like Enyzmes etc. With the chain you posted my TW/SR already was doing like 350dps and taking pylons down crazy-fast. If I add Double-hit procs per your description it likely will make heads explode.
Also Crab Spiders do it in a fraction of that time.
And Illusion Controllers.
Regardless, with Musculature Tier 4, Double Hit Tier 4, and Reactive Radial Tier 4, I can mow down pylons in around 2:10-2:20 depending on how nice misses/crits are. Shrug.
411 or some such DPS.
And no. It's too late to nerf Titan Weapons now. Set needs IOs to sustain itself anyway, or a crap ton of outside buffs. Stand alone, with IOs, or during the level process? It's a rough sell.
Reap. Sow. etc. -

Please make Default Tyrant a lot harder. Increasing his regen by at least 25% and increasing his damage by twice of that should be sufficient. As well as increasing the AoE radius of both his Fist and his Lightning Bolts by 100%.
I need more tears of failure to feast upon.
Quote:It's working. It's an oddly-coded level shift that doesn't appear like that. But it's working.I don't think we can agree on that. As it stands, it is a needless wall that occurs late in the trial. I don't think the requirement should be to ensure that 1/4 of the league has strong debuffs.
Oh, and something else that needs to be fixed:

Quote:I do not believe this is true. My testing indicates that Core is almost always better for most characters with a damage mod of 1 or higher. I am really baffled how you managed to get more mileage out of Radial on a scrapper. What was the attack chain used?
Corruptors are lower than mod 1 and could be better off with Radial, BUT, Scourge makes it tricky, IMO. All of the bonus damage you get from Core is doubled with Scourge. None of the bonus damage from double-hit is affected by Scourge. And outside of scourge, Core is not too far below double-hit. Depending on what content you primarily play, it may be worth getting a slightly smaller bonus on regular spawns in order to get that really juicy power against tough opponents.
Titan Weapons: Rend Armor > Follow Through > Crushing Blow > Arc of Destruction > Follow Through
Add on a another Crushing Blow + Whirling Smash if I used Build Momentum.
Consistently superior damage with Double Hit.
Might be due to the fact Titan Weapons base animation times are slow as sin? Either way, it was a GLORIOUS display of chain procs. -
Quote:Why would Aim matter? Double Hit is based off base. And even then, considering +DMG also applies to base, there's no logical reason that Double Hit would ever lose to +DMG, seeing as +DMG compared to the scaling of Double Hit evens out roughly considering damage scaling.Even if i cant fit Aim into my build? still double hit over stacking?
If you need a rough comparison, consider Double Hit on most powers to be a Purple Proc+ proccing each and every attack. Should give you a good idea of how powerful it is. -
Even on a Scrapper, with the best damage modifier in the game, Double Hit strongly beats out the flat +DMG stacking. I don't see any reason to take anything but the Double Hit route on any AT seeking Assault.
For the record, it was about a 10-12 second difference in Pylon Munching time between the two. Significant.
Double Hit Assault > Stacking +DMG Assault. -
Because they don't want you having the option of taking the same power, twice.

Quote:I always shook my head at that inherent of the Blaster AT. "You can use your 1st and 2nd Primary Power, and your 1st Secondary power while Mezzed!" while mostly every other AT has "You practically cannot be mezzed and can use ALL of your powers! YAY!"Why do Brutes get an inherent damage buff power. No other archetype gets to have such a huge damage buff without having to take a power.
Blasters can shoot with limited attacks while mezzed. No other archetype can do that. Why are they allowed to do that if no one else is? Because they needed something, and the devs wanted to give them something unique.
Let me repeat: the devs wanted to give them something unique. Why does anything get to do something no one else does? That's usually the reason why. Whatever we do to Blasters, being something unique to them is very high on the list of things that should happen. If its something anyone else can do, or everyone else can do, its probably not worth doing for Blasters.
Sure, though. A Defender, Controller, and Corruptor are just sitting ducks when mezzed, but... in the case of the Controller and Corruptor at least, their inherents are just so beyond superior. -
Just to note, Illu/Rad couldn't farm, but it would fill the majority of my 'other list'. That being said, no need to revive old hostilities and skirting insults, considering every party involved.
Let the thread die and let's all move on toward i23 things.
