He's on the EU servers so to be fair Barrier, he won't be teaming. I think you need other players to do that.

I started on the US servers and i've been back for a stint recently. I'm well aware of what the servers are like.

I've never, ever, ever, ever, ever had trouble teaming on Freedom. No matter what toon or level, there's always a space for me.


And if there wasn't, there's 600 people to choose from when i start building my own team. 600 > 130.

The just shy of 900mb i17 patch replaces current stuff so the total is still only 3.1gig. Just a FYI

And that is '-project EUCohTest' for the EU folk reading who want to skip the updater too. Seeing as the EU version won't even allow the patch to be downloaded at the moment.

I'm not going to lie to people about how fantastic Onion is. I'm also not going to ignore a request for help/information when it's something i know about.

Don't get me wrong, i'd rather Onion be full every night but that's not going to happen. And a US sub is better than no sub at all don't you think?


I'm not saying the US servers are perfect. Yes, there's a hell of a lot more players but there's also a load more farmers/nubs and generally annoying people. It's stuff you put up with though knowing that you can at least get a team together that isn't the same 7 people every night.

You are correct about being the only seller. But that's not a problem as there's lots of low level recipes with just one for sale, which you buy on your US account.

You then list it again for 5 inf, then buy it from your EU account for 1bil or whatever you want to transfer. Just bare in mind you do lose a bit because of the market fee.

Most US servers are busier than Onion no matter what the time. And if you're just after population, Freedom or Virtue are your best bet.


There's no way to apply a US code to your EU account so you literally have to start from scratch in that sense but it's a lot easier when you have the inf to fund yourself unlike when you first started on the EU.

To get a US code go to the PlayNC store, click on the CoH tab and pick your choice of game (GvE, Mac or Architect) which will be listed in Pounds/Euro's depending on where you're from. Just below the "Buy now" button there's a link for "US version also available".

As long as what ever you chose to buy is displayed in Dollars, it's the US version.

Everyone still with this exact issue do this.

Go to notepad or any other basic text input program. Don't enter anything into the file, just save as "cohupdater.exe" (without the quotations) and put it in the folder with your updater.

Run the updater that was causing you the problem and it will rename the text file and change it to another updater. Should be problem solved.

I have absolutely no idea what that means. I've only got a limited amount of knowledge about this and i've never come across that error before. I've just had a quick scan through this thread and it looks like you're the only one getting that error.

I think the tech team are going to have to help you with that, sorry.

If at the moment, you just want to connect so you can play for now (short term fix) you could use the US updater (which appears to run fine) to download the game.

You could then copy the files to your EU folder and do the updater by-pass method to at least get you in-game while you're waiting for a response.

Right, lets try something.

Delete the cohupdater.prv and any other updater that isn't the one you're using but keep the .dll

Run the updater again. It may appear to still not be working (disappears for awhile) and then see what it says.

The problem we have here is that it didn't affect EVERYONE. So while yes, it is affecting you, it's not like NC just sent out a poor update. There's obviously something that conflicts on certain set ups.

So yes, it is up to you to get it working as they aren't psychic and don't know what YOUR issue is. If you have sent a ticket then you will get a response soon enough.


When your updater crashes, does it create a file called "CohUpdater_UI_Win.dll"?

The support staff are still working, submit a ticket.


If it's not working correctly now, it'll continue the same way until it is sorted by yourself. NC have finished updating the updater.

The updater is the only way to download the game. There's no direct link.
