I have a little issue with Vertical Sync capping my FPS.
I know V-Sync caps it to the refresh rate but for some reason, my FPS is being limited to exactly half the refresh rate. I normally play with 75hz which is giving a 37.5 fps. I tested with 60hz and it's 30 fps.
Because the values are exactly half of what they should be, have i missed something?
I'll be posting up the CoH helper and hijack this stuff shortly.

I've got an annoying, but not important BSOD problem i was hoping someone could help me with.
Every time i shut down or restart my PC i get the pretty blue screen. This is on a brand new HDD with Win7 64bit. I know it's a driver issue but i still only have the bare essentials installed which is why i'm confused.
This is the error i'm getting
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 2057
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 1e
BCP1: FFFFFFFFC0000005
BCP2: FFFFF8000336AB2A
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 000000000000004F
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\020911-30373-01.dmp
C:\Users\Rent\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-59561-0.sysdata.xml
And the WER-59561 file is here. I just don't know what i'm looking for. (hosted on fileserve in wordpad)
Any help would be appreciated. -
I think i have the GFX solution covered for now Fur nes. The GTX 580 isn't that much faster and certainly not faster enough to justify the cost.
I would prefer to stick with Intel really but i guess i could give AMD a consideration. Especially if i can't get hold of the 2600k instead of the 2600. -
After your reply i decided to research some more. The ASUS mobo's that are still up for sale (P8P67 for an example) are going to be "okay" to use because of the amount of SATA ports it has. At least 4 of the 8 won't ever develop the fault due to a 3rd party providing the controller, not Intel. It's not ideal but i can work with that.
So just in case anyone else was having the same concerns, if you use less than 4 SATA devices you'll be fine with an ASUS board. A lot better than being stuck with two. -
Hey guys and gals.
I'm in the process of upgrading my Processor, Mobo and Ram but i'm a little hesitant due to the recent Socket 1155 Mobo's being recalled.
The problem i have is that over here in Old Blighty, i can still get hold of the socket 1155 boards and the Sandy Bridge chips quite easily. I WOULD like to think that if the products are still up for sale they would be okay but i know what our retailers are like.
I'm currently running with an E8400, GA-EP41-UD3L mobo and 4gb generic ddr2 ram so aware pretty much any upgrade to a i5/i7 and a decent mobo/ram will be a good thing but what would you do for the upgrade?
Chance the socket 1155 stuff or go for something else?
Just to guide you with your choices, i will be using this PSU for now as it's still relatively new and successfully powering a MSI GTX 480 so i'll trust it.
Cheers for any replies. -
I'd slot Levitate for damage and use it as the first power in your chain tbh. If your target gets KB'd then great, if not, you've got an extra 100 or so damage which is delayed enough to hit with Dominate/whatever as a "proc".

I was hoping this link was going to be of that. You didn't disappoint! -
Just so you may be able to narrow things down a little, i've got a GTX 480 running 260.89 drivers. I did have 260.99 but it made all my text super small and was unreadable.
I'm running with everything on max which gives a decent enough frame rate while out doors. Using your comparison, i get 40 fps jumping through GV. Capped at 75 in mish due to vertical sync.
Maybe try those drivers? -
Quote:We use Arena chat for anything PvP but it's not the most populated section of the game so chat will be quiet. Still worth adding the chat channel to a tab though and if you do want to use it, it's /ac
Now I did notice that you mentioned pvp, I'm not sure which channel they use, though.
My advice for PvP is don't enter till you are fully capable with the game and your Character, whatever that might be.
Also, be prepared to lose and take broadcast chat with a pinch of salt. -

There's still a decent amount of PvP'ers on Onion, we just have a hard time getting them together. If you've got most of your PvP'ers on Onion though, give me a shout... I'm always up for arena stuff

Quote:There's PvP on defiant? Tell me where and when and i'll be there.
I have a psy/nrg on Defiant and its not as expensive a build as most and still has HP cap and does alright. I know Defiant isnt regarded highly for its pvp, but there are a few of us they take it seriously and build toons for it. -
Quote:And why would you add KB protection to a Regen? Total waste of 7 slots and you're telling him not to enhance more than 2 attacks?
I added some thoughts to your build and some kb protection (only 32)
Wow. -

Quote:Y'know, assumptions make @ss's out of people.
My first thought when 'Open Beta!' came out was to get in and try and add feedback, testing and bug hunting. Y'know, what Beta is for? And what I try and do every Beta I'm in?
But, obviously you know my own mind better than I do.
So what you're saying is, you're not in the "most" category? I didn't say all, did i? No. So behave. -
Will that one be on Onion Scarlet, or another on Defiant?
-
Don't worry about it Av, most of the complainers are no doubt only complaining because they can't test out respecs before launch.
-
That's fine Scarlet, i was just looking to clarify.

Quote:Great news: I'm now able to confirm that the winner of each contest will win a costume power code of their choice, in addition to gold titles for each contestant!
Just out of curiosity, doesn't that mean even though there will be two teams (Aussies and Poms) only the highest killing player gets a reward?
