You might have missed them, but you already have dozens of winged demons running around shooting smoking skulls from their hands, opening portals to the netherworld and healing you with dark clouds. You might have even noticed some scrappin' some bad guys in your travels, or shrouded in flames tanking several dozen evil doers. Open your eyes and you might realize you have been fighting crime with undead and demonic heroes for ages.
In general demons don't come from hell, nor are they associated with religion or evil. Most of them come from an alternate dimension called the netherworld. In fact some of Paragons greatest heroes come from this dimension.
You might also consider what happens when The Circle of Thorns summons a demon into a hero. Is there a chance he might win out over the demon and yet still need to share the same body? What happens when the Vaz resurrect a hero, is he evil, or does he fight the urge? What happens when Portal Corp opens a portal into the Netherworld and its greatest hero steps through, is he evil just because he is a "demon"?
Anywho, all heroes are not born of butterflies and fairy-dust. Many of them are born out of hellfire and brimstone, tossing out righteous fire and flame to subdue evil in Paragon City. -
Quote:Not to get totally off topic, but the early WAR scenarios are designed to be simple one or two button mashers while you get used to the flow. It would be like rolling a level 10 hero into PvP and saying you only press three buttons.. no kidding, you only have three powers.I dunno about Warhammer Online being that great. I've done the trial... it's basically a less cartoonish WoW and the PvP... well I used an archer and just pressed buttons and got the highest kills for the map... I really didn't try at all or know wtf I was doing.
Once you hit higher levels you have a crap ton of abilities do pull from depending on your situation. -
There are a huge number of heroes that get their powers from demonic sources (Spawn for one), use demonic magic, are witches or simply are demons themselves.
In game you have been playing with demons and demonic heroes since day one. Do you think all of those horned, bat winged guys shooting smoking skulls out of their hands were fairies? One of the main heroes, Infernal, uses demon binding.
There is no hell/heaven in city of heroes so your good/bad concept doesn't work. Most of the cities demons don't come from hell, they come from another dimension.
In any case good and evil are seperated by a grey line, and regardless of were your powers come from, it is up to you to decide how to use them. Don't be surprised if that flaming demon charging at you throws down his claw to help you up and kick some bad guy butt. -
Of course anyone can get a pick up group, the OP seemed focused on TFs. Burst damage is great for knocking out bosses while everyone else cuts down LTs and minions, but when your're taking on AVs and heroes burst damage has no place in the group.
Are stalkers useless on TFs, no, but the group is better served by nearly any other archetype or powerset. -
All defender sets get tedious if try to do everything, all the time, to everybody.
Not everyone on every team needs every buff all the time. Most teams can get by with a couple of heals here and there, some teams need the auras and buffs on certain people, and some teams just need it all.
Know your team and put out effort relative to need. -
Claws has a few very small claws that might be acceptable. When you get to your power color selections some sets can be set to minimum effects which gets rid of all the coloring.
With GR right around the corner you might also consider going rogue with a super-strength brute. Weaponless, but unlike martial arts, the sound and look of the attacks leave you feeling very satisfied. -
I assume you ask for heals as you need them and then thank the healer each time they heal you. You also ask for the tank to taunt each mob and thank them afterwards.
As a member of a team you are expected to support that team fully, that means you speed boost. If for some reason you don't SB for character purposes then thats a different story. -
I love making original characters, but I also enjoy seeing just how close I can get to characters already out there.
With the long wrist blade model and ninja run you can bring some Assassins Creed to City of Heroes.
