While Praetoria is harder, I'm thinking a lot of the difficulty is overstated. Even before the inherent fitness change, it wasn't really a problem to go from 1-20 with very few snags. With the fitness change, it's even easier. In a lot of ways, it makes the early game less of a mindless push and is more involving.
I'm going to have to side with EG on this one. -
I asked mostly because some of the content of the MOTD changes earlier was REALLY not suitable for a public channel. I had to close out my tab from earlier due to some of the MOTD's posted. If things like that are going to be the norm, it's best that the channel be private, otherwise petitions could start to fly like crazy.
And really, who would want to be banned for what is otherwise a really dumb joke? -
What about all the obscene MOTD's? Will they be there too?
Because they got pretty out of hand earlier. -
Quote:Proof that the mods don't come here.Dear fattie with a gun,
How retardedly lazy are you? It makes zero sense use archetypes as the common denominator for setting DR limits.
How ******* retarded can you be?
If you wanted to level the playing field, I shouldn't be able to get as much defense on a (now useless) /sonic controller as say compared to a /ff controller. And that means you need to index DR curves first to power sets, and secondly...
...to team size. Not a science. We suggested it about 25,000 times during i13 beta. But your team is bad at this whole "making a game for pvp" thing.
and you guys are lazy.
and that's why I'm not resubbing.
go back to killing boars in wow.
******* pve-er.

Ice/SS is so fun, it should be illegal

GM Lloyd is a pretty cool guy. He fixes game problems and doesn't afraid of anything.

Quote:That's not too bad of an idea, provided the rate of decay wasn't too steep.I've seen decaying buffs in a few other games, and generally what that means is the buff starts at a certain intensity, then over time drops in intensity. For instance, imagine if a Forcefield bubble is full strength at first, then over time eventually degrades to nothing. I've seen this both as a gradual shift (at each second it's fractionally lower than the previous second), and as 'stairstep' reductions, dropping some particular amount at specific intervals.

Like Emil said when it tried out that gun in Robocop.
"I LIKE IT!" -
Quote:By that, do you mean an across the board duration reduction for buff powers in PvP, or rather the more of a particular buff you have on you, the shorter that buff lasts? One of the things I suggested to alter the tactical equation of gathering for buffs then scattering to leverage them was to make all buffs decay in PvP, so that they could retain a significant percentage of their strength, even stacked, for a short while, but not for long periods of time. This would encourage meeting engagements where combat would happen when there was a high density of players, and buffs worked better when used during combat and their activation costs would have to be paid, rather than away from combat and essentially eliminated. It better balanced stand and fight as a legitimate tactic to scatter and spike, which opened the door to reexamining tankers in teamed PvP rather than attempting to balance everyone around tanker survivability generically.
That would have either taken additional tech or a lot of extra work to redo the buffs for this kind of effect. I was told that would be impractical to attempt. I will now stand here and whistle to myself, because that's the extent of what I'm currently allowed to say about the subject. -
Quote:Very much this. The thing is Posi, DR really kills any buff classes. Its not so much who can buff the fastest, but who has what buffs active. And right now, any buffs (even self buffs) are about useless.
While i understand that DR allows you guys to give us massive PvE powers without affecting PvP too much, it really makes about 80% of your ATs and powersets useless in PvP.
Rather than "who can buff the fastest" it's now "who can spam damage the fastest". At least before, the buffs gave a wider variety of AT's and Builds a point in PvP. Now, they might as well just grab another blaster. -
>_> you're a bit late with that one BBM.

Blazing Aura is garbage in PvP, as is Burn. Blazing Aura will have about 1 chance to check against a stalker before AS fires off, and has to do so against a stalker's considerable AoE defense. Burn requires you stand in one place to use, which just paints a huge bullseye on your back.

Nobody uses personal interest anymore. Development would be better spent elsewhere.

History has shown that to not work out so well. Quite a few events have been shut down due to test server down time, even with full awareness of the red names in charge (more than once, an event even had a stickied thread by a community mod for over a month and the server was brought down without warning). It didn't matter if it was run by the PvPEC, Test Ladder, etc.
