Keep in mind, the -Fly is mag 1.6, so Hover will essentially laugh at it.

It also comes in very handy for ambushes. Drop it at a corner and watch them act like buffoons running back and forth on the patch as you take them apart.

A lot of people underestimate the mitigation values of caltrops. You can turn an entire spawn of enemies in an AI-addled mess. They spend more time trying to get out of the patch, and less time trying to kill you.
  4. Melee vs Melee duels usually end in a stalemate unless one person decides to just sit there and take it. In that case, build for a lot of recharge and procs. Elec melee isn't too good for PvP (aside from stalkers), so you'll need all the help you can get when going up against a big bag of HP like a tank.

    Elec/Elec advice

Here's one I just tossed together. No purples involved. It doesn't have the faster recharging energize that you have, but it's pushing around 40% S/L defense and should be a lot cheaper to build. With Power Sink, you really don't have to worry about endurance problems, so building for that isn't going to be as useful to you.
  7. make an Elec/Therm corr and just punish the hell out of his blue bar.

    PvP stalker

The DM/WP would be a cheaper overall build to make. You can cap your own HP easily, you get some resistance and a decent heal as well as perception. Slot up your AS and learn to use it well with even fast moving targets. Have a good follow up attack ready (Spirit Shark is popular for this), and most of all, don't get discouraged. Just have fun with it.

For a sense of perspective, have you looked at the PvP guides in the forums: Player Help >> Player Guides >> Guide to Guides.

Basically any guides regarding PvP you'll find here are the forums are essentially useless. After i13 hit, most of the information they contain no longer applies.
  10. If he's in a leveling pact, that'd do it. Look under your friends tab. The fourth listing there would be the Leveling Pact list.
  11. It comes and it goes in waves. Everything you've described has happened before and will again. The trick is to keep on playing so long as it's fun. People you RP with may leave, and you might meet new people to fill in the gaps. Just roll with it.

  13. Good news and bad news. Good news is that you won't need stun since just about everything suppresses your opponents anyways. Bad news is none of your stuns will last for squat. You can still make your stalker work quite well in PvP, so long as you have a good handle on timing your AS and follow ups. Mako's patron pool is quite popular for Spirit Shark, which does a ton of damage and makes for a nice after placate attack.

    Electric Tanker

I'd go with Super Strength for secondary. Electric can do fine so long as you build for decent recharge and HP bonuses, as well as remembering to pick up enough KB protection.

    Also, where'd my CHF go? ;_;
  15. You're /SR. Lucky is one of your powers

    AS-Less Stalker

This isn't quite accurate. When stalkers were introduced, they could either get crits from being hidden or if an enemy was Slept/Held/Feared. Just after Issue 11, the devs changed the ability to get crits to a base ten percent outside of hide and with another three percent for every teammate nearby. They also raised the melee damage modifier, and changed AS so that it has a higher base damage scale, but lower critical modifier. AS is doing the same damage when hidden, but more outside of hide.

    Tanker EM vs. SS

EM being nerfed because of PvP is about as likely as the devs rolling back the i13 changes next week. Melee was an overall weak link in PvP and EM was no exception. ET just happened to be that broken of a power. However, putting it in line doesn't fix the design flaws with the rest of the set.
  18. Colds wreck any regen that isn't smart enough to know when to phase and run. Luckily, that's 99% of all scrapper players.
  19. That's for all tier-1 tanker attacks now. It's part of the changes to Gauntlet that came not too long ago.
  20. Also, with a little recharge, you can stack Rage to offset the defense crash. This helps a lot in avoiding a bad situation.
  21. First off, Ice is a defense set, not resistance. You'll want to build towards your defenses first. Lucky for Ice, you have a very handy endurance utility, so you can supplement your mitigation with Tough and Weave without sweating the end usage. If you really want to go the extra mile, fit in the medicine pool for Aid Self. Combat Jumping is a nice little addition to your defense, as is Maneuvers if you can fit it in.
  22. Mirror Spirit made me laugh entirely too much
