Got to watch a couple of these last night. REALLY need to get something leveled on Freedom. I'm working on a Fire/SS taunt bot, but who knows how that'll work.

I'll probably be doing the same. I have a EM/WP stalker and Psi/EM blaster, but both are just sitting at 4 since I made and never used them. Virtue just isn't the same without LoT and the Ducks.
-
Once I get the urge to start playing again, I'll have to get something PL'd on Freedom.

Quote:Well, you'd have to have been at least half dead (if not more) to die from a lone stalker using only those three attacks on you, which means you weren't killed by a stalker in two hits without being able to do anything. Not to mention the amount of time it takes to set up a second AS after the first is definitely enough time to pop a heal.Well, All I can tell you is what happened. I didn't analyze it. I was airborne, but I imagined he had simply started the AS as I was taking off and it just landed once I was in the air. However, he was close enough to hit me with the hold thing as I landed, so I don't know. I also don't know how much damage I took from the fall, or if I was at full health after sparring with the Brute (I think I was, but I'm not sure).
You can't tell me it didn't happen, I was there.
Were you killed? Sure, easily believable. Was it in the parameters you first described? Not a chance. -
With base squishie resistances, BU+AS does about 800 damage. If they were to somehow get 2 off during a single Build Up period (not unheard of, but VERY hard to do as I have yet to actually see it), you'd only be looking at 1600. With your armors running, closer to 1200. You would have had to have been AS'd in mid-air, -fly'd, fell far enough to take over 600 damage, placated, and AS'd again within a ten second period.
In other words, you are mistaken. -
Actually, your PB shouldn't be too hard to survive on. First off, don't worry about BF's now. They're largely useless. Depending on what form you're in, greens and oranges will better suit you. Aside from that, practice.
And Ultimo, against an Invuln tank, a stalker wouldn't kill him in 2 hits. Even base tanker HP is more than what two AS can do to a squishy with little resists. Against a tankers resistances, you'd need considerably more. -
Holy crap. I thought the mods planted a bomb in your car or something, Candle. How ya been?
-
Not really. The devs have already stated that they make changes based upon their own design plans, regardless of whomever is rude to them on the forums.
-
WOOT! Now get to work! I'm looking forward to see what you come up with!
-
You sure about the auto-hit thing? I was fairly certain they were.
-
I wouldn't bring purples to the arena, especially vs a blaster. They can crush what bit of defense you can come up with quickly.

Well, it isn't really possible to AS through caltrops since they're auto-hit. Rain of Fire IS possible, but doesn't happen often at all due to how many hit checks are there.
If you want to build a /Nin, remember to get as many KB protect IO's as you can. For AS slotting, I've always been a big fan of the 3 Nuc HO/3 damage procs way of doing it. As far as set bonuses go, Damage and Recharge with a bit of defense and just enough HP to cap (about 13% after you get your accolades). -
They're probably looking at a May release, just to co-ordinate it with the CoH anniversary.
i13 hit beta around October(?) maybe a bit earlier, in 2008. That'd give us around 19 to 20 months since the revamp and very little in terms of changes since then.

Also, temps don't have an On/Off switch to them. If someone reacts fast enough and phases to continue, you can still buy a few more seconds by dropping out of phase as you make your getaway. Just hope that there aren't other people around that want you dead if that happens.

Don't bother slotting CJ for jump. It's a waste. You're better off toss an LotG 7.5 (or just a single def until you can afford it) in the slot and calling it done. You can also get away with just two healing IO's in Health/Fast Healing and two end mods in Stamina. That'll free up enough slots to 6-slot Build Up for a recharge bonus.
Strangely enough, slotting Hurdle for jump gives a bit better returns (though with i13's suppression rules, that's a matter of debate). You might also want to consider putting some slots into Hibernate for Heal/End mod. It helps if you get hit with Heat Exaust just before you pop it. Also, think about picking up a mez power for those pesky toggles you'd want gone. -
One thing anyone should keep in mind when going into PvP: you do NOT need any specific sets/AT/IO's in order to do well. Are some sets better than others? Absolutely. But with dedication, even the least PvP-capable sets can wreak havoc with nothing more than SO's slotted. Just practice, find what works, and what doesn't.
Never give up. Never surrender. -
While I would dispute some of the information in the guide, it's definitely a nice read. Keep at it.

The best way to get started in this game is to find out what you like to do. Control, Support, Damage, Tank, Solo, Team. Are you the type to use a pet class to do the heavy lifting for you or do you prefer to run in yourself and bash heads? A bit of insight in what you enjoy will help a lot in any advice we can give.
-
Funny thing is, /SR originally had a Phase Shift clone as a Tier 9. The devs changed that for a few obvious reasons.
-
Practice, learn to use and manage inspirations, and get your accolades. It's very easy to hit the HP cap on a Blaster with only a couple IO bonuses and a few accolades. 1606 HP is a lot harder to take down than 1204.

Actually, Stalkers are quite capable of remaining in melee combat. They don't hit and run. They hit first, then keep hitting. The "book it to a safe hiding spot" is unnecessary because the safest spot is amongst a pile of your foes' remains.
