  1. I wonder what some of the people posting here think about the Madame of Mystery then...

That's pretty close to accurate there, mac. Whenever I'd go in, the Hero scrapper squad (both of them) would get dropped two or three times, then just wait at the base until the zone emptied out again. It'd wind up as four villains farming two heroes with another scrapper waiting by the drones until everyone left.

Just because you've done it a hundred times with characters that hit the soft-cap with IO's long ago doesn't mean it is an easy task. It just means you've found a team that makes it look easy. It's an illusion.

I've never run this SF but frankly the stories about multiple team wipes and pets that can't stay alive ring a lot more true to me than the stories about how easy it is.

I haven't really gotten into IO sets but the more I hear "game is too easy" and "we ran the ITF in 8.5 minutes" the more I want to avoid them so it never gets that way for me. Even if it means I'll never manage to finish the LRSF at least I'll still have exciting times playing the content.
Actually, myself and the teams I usually run with are usually without or have very little in the ways of IO bonuses. I've only IO'd two characters of mine, neither of which have been on the LRSF (one being a hero, so it'd be impossible for them). I'm not saying it's easy by default. I'm saying that with a team load-out like Tech had, they REALLY shouldn't have had the problems they were. If a well played team can get the MoLRSF with less (only corr was a Kin and my SO'd Elec brute to tank), then he really should have pulled that off.
  4. I'm really trying to think of a situation that a team with four corrs and two MM's along with two brutes could fail. You should have been able to breeze by that unless half of your team didn't have a pulse.
  5. You had to have been teamed with the worst players in the world for that to happen.
  6. Going with the rest of the crew here that said Nin/Nin. Mine started a bit slow, but grew into an amazingly fun ride all the way to 50.
  7. Here's a quick one I threw together. I tried to keep your power choices the same (barring the CJ/SJ in place of Hover/Fly, swap if needed). This one has a bit better recovery, less end use, not as many costly IOs, and Aid Self as a back-up for the hits that do make it through. Also, you're nearly capped on HP when you get your accolades.

  8. You're underslotted for AoE defense and a bit overslotted for both melee and ranged. Also, when soft-capped, Elude and DA are not very useful and can be swapped for better powers.

This build has some costly pieces. Are there any other bonuses you're going for aside from soft-capping? (such as recharge/hp/etc). A few alterations can make it very easy to get your defense to all positions up there with a lot less cash needed.

Phase and Hibernate are still handy, and almost essential. SS/SJ is still the way to go.

Okay, so..would it help if we made that two ToHit Buff IOs instead of one? Upping the boost from Tactics from 12.5% to 15%?
It wouldn't make a difference. The stealth cap for stalkers is only ten feet below the perception cap for all other AT's (except for VEATs). I don't think you'd even need 8 concurrent Tactics running to hit the perception cap. Stacking more perception on won't let you see a capped stalker beyond 10 feet.
  11. If all 8 were close to one another so that you could share the buffs, then yes. You'd be able to see the stalker at 10 feet.
  12. New PC case and power supply, an ATI 5770 HD card, and some nifty new PJ bottoms
  13. Anyone have any insight on how much of a difference the CCC makes vs just the drivers by themselves? I was lucky enough to get a HIS 5770 HD and had heard some pretty rough stories both for and against the CCC.

    Pvp server!

Brought my 41 Em/Regen over here. Haven't used them since i12 or so and they need a respec badly.

    I miss her
  16. And honestly, that's ok. If it becomes clear to me that a particular enemy is an easy kill, I'll look for someone else. If there's no one else or that person speaks up about how they aren't a challenge for me, I'll make the offer of advice or insight as to how I'm able to kill them so quickly. Of course, if there's a lot of people in the zone and I come after you specifically, you should take it as a compliment. It means that I consider you the biggest potential threat to me and my team around.
  17. When I'm in a zone and I see someone conning as an enemy, I have to assume they are there for PvP. More so, I have to assume they are as good or better than me because if I don't and play sloppy, I'll die in a hurry. Giving up the element of surprise plays a very large part in that. We don't know who you are or how good you are. All we know is that you can and most likely will try to kill us. And unless we play at our very best, you'll succeed.

    Let us solo TFs

Let us start TFs/SFs solo. People shouldn't be afraid of failure, especially in a video game. If they can't do it themselves, let them find other ways such as teaming. As long as you give them proper warning beforehand, they have no one to blame but themselves.

If a Stalker is just relying on hide, a single small yellow inspiration means you can see them. Many ATs have enough built in +Perception in multiple sets to nullify that. And everybody has the option to take Tactics, or - alternately - team with someone with it.

You also have the option to do the *exact same thing.* Run a patrol in BB, get temporary stealth. Run it in SC, get invisibility that doesn't prevent you from attacking. Pick up Stealth. Get a stealth IO. Get an hour of stealth from an empowerment station. Have someone cast GI on you.

Plus... "Suddenly kill you in no seconds?" Sorry, but no - not even pre-I13. There's always time to move and react, avoiding that next strike, barring having about three or four of them surround you at once - and even then, depending on AT, you could well live.
I agree with this post. There's enough ways to counter stalkers already without having to completely neuter them beforehand.
  20. Absolutely. I have even more /Nin's and a few WP. Couldn't get far enough on a DA and my EA's are all but retired. Stalkers ARE my favorite AT for a reason.

As for avoiding/healing all damage for 3 minutes, it's quite possible to do so on a regen. Between Recon being up every 30 seconds (outside of Hasten, of course), DP as a back up heal every 180, MoG every 120, and IH by itself for half of that alone, it's VERY easy to last 3 minutes against even the hardest targets and groups. And that is with no crash.

    Good PvP Videos?

I miss Nef B. That guy was a pain in my *** on his corrs. Prod too.
  22. Let's see, stalkers I've run to 50 with both SR and Regen as a secondary

DM, EM, NB, MA. Until IO's are introduced, the SR's haven't been able to handle as much as my SO'd Regens. However, I'd like to see your numbers if they indicate otherwise.
  23. Drop Stun, Resurgence, and the Mu patron pool. Those are all terrible for PvP. Grab Stealth, Invisibility, and Phase Shift. Also, Hasten and Super Speed. For Patron Powers, look into Throwing Sharks and Hibernate.
