    Blaster Damage

All I can say then is that I will never play another Blaster again once I hit 50. I am fed up with this garbage. Ignore, ignore, ignore, hold out a carrot, take the carrot away. I'm sorry States, but you really have no idea what is going on. And I'm really sorry to see it. This really hurts my expectations on how long I can play this game. Its not like one Blaster has complained. every Blaster playing the game past 32 has complained. I've watched SG mates that were 5 levels below me pass me doing a lot of the same missions in the 30s. They hit 50 when I got to 47. And when I compare the time they spent getting to 50 while I sit at 49, they did it in less time...a lot less. Some in about half the time. Don't tell me what you can't see. Open your eyes! Look at all the data you can mine. Stop trying to placate us, pat our backs, and say "there, there," and then change your story when it suits you. I'm personally sick of it.

And if I sound angry, yes I guess I am. You completely ignore the blasters for months and months, show up here once to hold out a carrot, then turn around and hit us with a stick. Why don't you climb back up to your ivory tower and continue to ignore us. Don't worry. We'll go away shortly.

I will say, I'm not the only person that thinks there is a rollover error in acc, though. I was testing accuracy the other day in a mission with +2 and +3 mobs. I had an attack chain of seven consecutive attacks miss, four after BU and 3 more after Aim, and long miss-runs happened several times during this mission. Then it went away in the following two missions. That sounds like either a roll-over computation error, or a random number generator error. Accuracy bugs are, of course, a big joke now, but even I'm beginning to get the feeling something is intermittently wrong.

You know, I noticed this last night. I had runs of 3 or 4 misses in a row shooting at even to yellow con enemies (won't count the runs on the oranges, those I consider just bad luck). And I also missed far too many times with BU+Aim+Snipe on orange and red con alpha strikes. It was so bad that I kept checking to make sure I had switched from flight to hover. Yet earlier in the day I was hitting right about where I thought I should. Most of those times I noticed it was when I used a yellow to improve my accuracy. So I wonder if there indeed isn't an overflow problem.
  3. Do Nemesis have any resistance to Energy? Yes there was an LT or 2 in there (took the bosses out earlier). But the rest of the mob constisted of Fuselier, Carabineir, Chasseur and Lancer. All conned white or yellow, the LT(s) were orange. There were 24 of them in their nice neat formations (counted them before hand just to see). I was positioned right in the middle of them in a deadend passageway using stealth and superspeed. I took the red and yellow just before I ran in, hit the build up and aim once positioned, and as started taking fire popped the Nova. I didn't expect to take the LTs down so was prepared for that. But the 6 others that were still standing were a bit much. I had a similar experience the last time I tired it on some CoT so I was paying pretty close attention on this one. That is also why I took the big red and yellow pills hoping to improve my odds.

So being 33, the 36s are +3 no question there. The 35+s were both two 35s combined together (bought them to make sure). So I should have been well up on the damage CAP. Now the only thing I can't say with 100% certainty that I had them all in radius. Fortunately, I was teamed with my SG and had a fortitude on me before I went in there. They were able to clean up no problem. But this is a risky tactic to try on your own.

So was this just bad luck?
  4. shadowybc,

I am Level 33 now. As stated above, I have Nova 4 slotted. I did neglect to say that they are all S.O. damage 36 or 35+. Aim and Buildup are single slotted with recharge (S.O. 35 but that shouldn't make any difference). Some testing I did last night, I tried Nova with a big red and yellow pill in a mob of +1 and +2 Nemesis and about half or more of them were still standing. Thanks for the help!
  5. I have a question based on the guide, SnipeFu. You say:

Large groups of minions up to +4 – Buildup, Aim, Nova. Done.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am finding that I am missing far to many and getting killed after doing this. All it takes is one or two +4 minion with no damage and a couple more damaged ones to give you a world of hurt while you are low on END. I have gotten so I keep some CaBs handy so I can get some endurance back to keep from getting destroyed after doing this. I have Nova 4 slotted with damage. What am I missing here?

    Thanks!

    Boss Changes

I do a lot of team. In fact most of what I do is team and staying up into the wee hours of the night to work with a regular team of people. The problem I have is like last night. The people I regularly team with (and ones I team with on occassion) were not online. So that left me two options:

    1) Soloing
    2) Casual Team

Things have been extremely tough since I3. I play a Blaster and my debt has skyrocketed, while the scrappers and tankers I play with regularly are able to keep their debt fairly low. This just means that they will advance faster than me. Now I've been one shotted before and I've thought, you know, that happens sometimes, I don't like it and so try to keep the Tankers and Scrappers between me and those baddies. But I have been one shotted more times since I3 than all the rest of my time put together.

    Anyway...back to the story.

So I join a casual team. Don't know any of these folks from Adam and we end up with a Tanker that jumps into the middle of a bunch of baddies every time he sees them thus bringing their rath down on everybody. Now I'm playing in a group with a good mix. Scrapper, two Tankers, two Blasters, a Controller and a Defender. Maybe coulda dropped a Tanker or the Scrapper for another Defender, or a Controller since it was a Tsoo mission, but still a good mix. But due to this imbecile Tanker charging in all the time, we had no way to control the hoards and keep the Blasters, Defenders and Controllers safe. I died 4 times in a mission that should been handled by this team. There were bosses all over the place and with the Sorcs keeping them alive, we had twice where the entire party died. All thanks to this guy I didn't know and who had no concern for the rest of the party. And you wonder why I prefer soloing over this?

Or how about the other team I was in pre-I3. They had been through the mish so many times. In the final battle, there is a temporary power you can get if you get the blinkie. These guys raced ahead to get that temporary power leaving me by myself against the mobs. The mission was completed. One of them got the temporary power. I got debt.

I'll team with my regular folks any day and have a great time doing it even if on occassion I get killed, but putting up with things like this turns me sour about teaming with anyone but my regular folks. So what am I to do? If my friends aren't online and I still want to play a little, all that leaves is street sweeping. Not exactly the most interesting thing after a whlie. There seem to be too many people who don't care about teaming or just use it to get what they want and the hell with the rest. I team with the people I do because I trust them. I've learned their style, they've learned mine, and we have a great time doing it. But casual teaming had caused me a lot of heartache and made me want to give up this game. So my only other option is soloing. Otherwise, with the debt I amass as a Blaster, I won't be able to play with those folks I really enjoy playing with because they will surpass me while my xp goes to paying off debt as much as it does to keeping up with them.
