    Sure I will admit that I have never done any programming like this. But I do know loads of HTML and have also programmed in Flash because um . . . oh yeah, I took classes on them. So I know what it is like to have unexpected bugs. And I do know there is a difference between nice clean organized code, and sloppy code. Pieces of code can be placed in different places in slightly different ways and still achieve a similar result. But it is integral to observe the hierchy and keep things organized. I am aware that bugs happen. But lately it hasn't been an occasional bug. It has been expected to have multiple bugs per issue. So I will stick to my guns there regardless of your opinion about my knowledge of code.

    That said, do not get me wrong, I still enjoy the game, I was just saying bugs are annoying when they throw punches in bunches.
  4. Yeah I do appreciate the honesty. But is it just me or does it seem like every patch and issue comes with new bugs these days? Would really be nice if they lit a fire under these programmers ***** and nip that sloppy code in the bud once and for all.

  7. Hey Manti, it has been over 2 weeks, what is going on with the lore?!?!? Lol, well I am still waiting impatiently for that info on Darrin Wade, The Midnighters, and the Dream Doctor.   8. Well, after reading the new lore on the Going Rouge page, I have a new slight twist on my storyline idea. Still waiting on Lore from Manticore about the Midnighters. I hope you all have not forgotten about this thread. When I am ready to post the revised version it will be on a new thread so everything can start fresh.

    So far changes that I have made to the EAT powers include renaming the powers in english, no more latinesque names. Including more powers in each set primary and secondary to better mirror the selection that Kheldians have due to the lack of pool powers. These include a travel power, more attack powers; a sonic attack, some melee attacks and a PBAoE Toggle, as well as some more defensive powers such as some debuffs, a rez, and foe and ally teleports.

    Also note that I have read up on the i16 information about power customization, and as I expected, this only allows you to change your color and particle effects options. It does not state that it allows you to pick a "source". I speculate that this is due to animation conflicts of some sort. So having a magic wand or staff will not even be considered possible for power customization. More details on the wand/staff EAT progress will be given once I find out about the Midnighter Lore.   9. Oh come on, my speeling wasnt taht bad! LOL, I have seen much worse, and I am certain that you have as well. I didn't point it out to begin with, Steampunkette did. I have no clue why, I just responded because I felt obligated to defend myself.

    Anyroad, I do not know how the auras work very well, this is obviously true. But I do know a little bit about pixels, hexidecimal values, and color in general. Whatever the system is that they are using should be modified or changed. It would be nice to have an intensity slider as Angel_Red said. And if we have an intensity slider that changes opacity then we should be able to have fully opaque white and black as well as translucent white and black. I am sure this would be very difficult, because it seems that everything I want in this game is difficult. But it is something that should be done eventually (no rush). With all of the different programs we have for special effects, 3D modeling, and motion graphics, I am sure somewhere, someone has a way of making this happen.
  10. Miladys_Knight , I like your concept. It is a solid suggestion and bettering the endurance cost as well as the recharge promotes more activity. But what happens when that increased activity backfires and draws more aggro than you can handle? Even still I would say your idea is better than what we have. Well done good sir, well done indeed.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious shortcommings of others. :P Perhaps you could laugh at us for saying excuse me, or pardon me, when we do not fart or burp. Hehe JK. I put the U in there because of my love for Eddie Izzard.

    Anyways, how about this dripping aura? Any comments, praise, or disagreements?
  12. Oh, I forgot, this thing about the Ferry and the Black Helicopter; I feel like the whole thing is kinda backwards. In the higher level zones (Cap and up) you have this ferry that takes you to almost any zone "except Port Oaks and Mercy). But you have this helicopter that takes you to Port Oaks and Mercy. This should be the other way around. Usually a ferry will just go from one place to another and back. Helicopters could fly anywhere they want and can go many places that a ferry could not. I would imagine that the ferry should be more like a city door is on heroside. It goes to one place and back. There could be 2 or 3 of them per zone, each ferry goes to a dif place. This is much more logical. The helicopter should be more like the train line, but can take you anywhere you wanna go villainside.

    Earning a specialty temp travel power would be very cool in this idea. You have completed Random Rich Villains story arc, and he has given you access to his private Helicopter. "Here is a beeper, use it to contact a pilot". Or "Here is the number to my travel agent." Whatever floats your boat, or chopper rather.

    When activated a prompt pops up asking which zone you wanna go to. A helicopter just flies down to pick you up. You jump in (same animation as jumping in the submarines, or run in the back hanger) and are dropped off at that maps VG beacon. It would be very nice if other people could board the private chopper similar to how your ouro portal works. You lay it down and anyone can click on it.
  13. My biggest problem with Villainside is the maps. They are either super run down and messed up, or they are large, obsticle-like arachnos structures. I agree that the Family should have some nice estate along the beach. Make it look like one of those really nice italian beach houses with Feraris in the driveway or something kinda money like that. Also there could be an "old money" style neighborhood. Like rich private school alumni, meets the crime does pay attitude.

    A revamp of some of the overly abundant "slum" areas would be very nice!

    Arachnos are way too prominant, it seems like one has to deal with them every other contact. I hate that I am always some random contacts expendable lackey if you will. I want a contact to possibly start out that way, but then after I prove myself I am his go to guy that he cannot do without. Make him kiss your butt so to speak.

    I also want a contact that you go to who is terribly afraid of you because he has heard of your talents. Most of the low lvl contacts think they are hot stuff and talk down to you all the time. Who the bleep are they to be like that. After you outlevel them they say stuff like "Shove off I have nothing for you." or "Move on, I have nothing that suits you", instead they should be saying stuff like "I am so sorry *cowers* but...I...don't have anything that is up to your standards. But I will search around for you" this could in turn introduce you to a better contact who is in your level range, but by your reputation he doesnt mouth off to you like the other contacts do. We villains demand respect as icons of power!

    Another cool mission arc could start out with like a jewlry heist, or a bank robbery, or perhaps something more interesting, but once you finish the mish Police NPCs bust in and catch you in the act. Instead of arresting you they pitch a crooked operation to get rid of the Arachnos. "They disrespect you, they disrespect us, lets level the playing field and work together".

    Just a couple ideas off the top o me noggin.

  15. yeah it always bothered me that intensity is dependant on colour (note my usage of u's). Lots of times I want a black aura...but what I always end up with is a very low intensity grey aura. Black should be black opposed to semi-opacity white. And the inverse for white auras, they are like BLAM! have you ever seen white flame aura...it looks like all of the fire in paragon decided to have a rave dance party on your chest...it is rediculously too busy.

    Since we are talking about auras I would like to see some new stuff added as well. Like a dripping aura aura that could be used as water, tar, blood, etc.

    Body drip: Minor drips would fall from your body similar to how rock crumble works. Maybe you are a Ice tank, or Ice blaster, and sometimes your ice melts a little, so you have water dripping. You could be a warrior with body injuries and a minor amount of blood drips from your battle wounds here and there. Maybe you are some kind of toxic waste mutant and a green drip of toxic goo drips off of you occasionally.

    Eyes Drip: Black eye drip might be from running mascara...maybe you are possesed by a demon and it causes your eyes to bleed black demon blood. Red drips for like when a vampire cries, or you are becomming a zombie and it makes your eyes bleed (again subtle not super gore projectiles). White or transparent blue drips could be normal tears, etc.

    Fist drip; Same as above could apply, black drips could be tar, demon blood, ink, paint, etc. Red could be blood, paint, etc.

    I dunno if people would like it, or if it would be abused, but it would be nice if a Mad Surgeon had hands covered in blood, a bikini babe dripping with pool water, or a basebal player covered in gatorade.
  16. I have a lvl 50 Trick Arrow/Archery which was very difficult because soloing was not easy at all. The offensive set seemed like it too forever to kill a boss. After I got the Mental Mastery Pool I recieved a second Hold power which helps keep the boss from 1 shotting me. But by the time I get him held and shower him with debuffs I do not have much End left to kill him with. Soloing is very tough on Defenders I agree.

    But it is my understanding that some archetypes were designed to be more team oriented. Others were designed to solo. Unfortunately the Defender is not a lone wolf, it is a support toon. If you would like higher damage output try making a blaster. I hear that fire trollers have nice damage output also.

    About the inherent power, I would be very pleased if it were tweaked a little bit. It might not be a good idea for it to have +Damage since as was stated above, that the damage increases would vary depending on the type of defender you have. But maybe it could increase damage and or defense of self depending on how many enemies are surrounding you. The more enemies in a given range, the more damage you have. Good food for thought!
  17. I have to agree that most vehicles would be rediculous to see in this game. Motorcycles would be cool to see at least if WoW has them.

    I think some other options would be more logical and feasable. Flying platform emotes, think of the Green Goblin, something you stand on opposed to get into would be much easier to animate. These would be able to strafe sideways, move over any terrain etc. Flying platforms could include high tech rocket platforms like Gobie's, you could also include a hovering UFO type platform, a mystical flying carpet, an elemental cloud, etc. It would also be very cool to see an emote for sitting on a broomstick for halloween.

    Even though this would be much easier to do, and still very cool, I still do not see them being introduced to the game anytime soon unfortunately.

    I really like the Tech Blade in the Broadsword set. Could this be modified to apply to Dual Blades and Katana?

    Hey Sam I really like this idea, good post, man!

    Also all of the other emote suggestions are pretty funny, espescially Paul Ruebens dying scene from Buffy.

    Some other good ideas:

    White Flag: Character raises one hand up holding a white hankerchief.

    Rigamortis: Character lays on back with all four limbs sticking straight up in the air.

    Flies: Flies start swarming around the character.

    Stench of death: Flies swarm and also a puce vapor emits from the character to symbolize an odor. Other characters could walk by and use an emote that makes them fan the air, and/or hold their nose.

    Ghost: A ghost version of your character hovers above you. Alternate Ghost emotes could be used also. Like Ghost Angry, Ghost Sad, Ghost Freakout, and Ghost Awe.

    The Light: I bright light appears in the sky above you and a faint sound of people saying "come towards the light".

    So far the coolest idea is the Tombstone emote. accompanied by the Bring Flowers emote. Good job.

    Very cool stuff, this would make dying more fun!
  20. Also a nice suggestion Doc, but maybe a compromise of 3 powers would be better. I like your list of powers, but instead of 26-50, you could have 26-49, then on 50 you get your third inherit origin power.

  22. Definately, I have considered the possibility that they already have a new story arc comming for the midnighters, maybe not. I do think that my concept for the story is pretty solid though so I am confident that at the least, they will like it, whether they use it or not.
  23. A weekly coloumn would be nice, or an entire section of the webpage on game lore with its own little database to search through. That way you dont get search results from RandomHero123 on "My idea for Rikti is...blah blah blah". A site with official info only would be nice.
  24. I would prefer they do extra work not just for the sake of them working, but for the long desired sake of new bloody content in the game! Thanks AncientSpirit!

    I dunno Ad, I haven't seen any answers at all in the thread, unless he is responding to everyone by means of a PM, which I think would be a bad idea if more than one person wants to know about the same thing. Or are they answering the questions by putting the info on the COH website...I made mention about how he would answer in the thread so we will find out.

    Either way, we will have a new Midnighters story eventually.
