I always liked the caves, but then I've also spent hundreds if not thousand of hours playing Morrowind.
I'm just glad that I don't need a light source to navigate them, and that if I go splashing through a puddle I don't have to be concerned about a foe hearing me. -
That's cool, Obsidius. Thanks for sharing your display with us.

Quote:Ever see a lightning bolt come within 100' of the ground but not hit anything? Lighting will either go cloud to cloud or cloud to ground, never cloud to almost to ground.
The only part that does not makce sense is being able to have it strike in mid air.
Edit to add: Now I could get behind it if you were able to summon a ligtning bolt that hits you mid air and you could redirect it to the ground.
Actually lightning travels ground to cloud, not cloud to ground. -
Quote:I currently have this G5 as well, I love the functions of the extra buttons. What I liked about it the most was the texture, it's only the slightest bit rough so it gives your hand traction without being 'grippy'. The only issue I've had with it so far is that the casing on the cord is a little stiff and instead of flexing right where it comes out of the mouse, it's bending and seperating.

While you can go to razerzone.com to see tech specs, you can check out this thread for more info on the Naga -
It's not a simple one or the other for me, Sam. It's all based around context.
For some fights, it's going to be John McClane vs Karl in the upper floors of Nakatomi Tower "You should have heard your brother squeal!" This is along the more realistic lines, and I would expect these types of fights to be more common.
For other fights, yeah, the whole 'gone nuclear' is what I like to see. These should be less common, finale fights. If it's utilized as a common fight practice, then it really lessens the impact of it. -
I may be remembering incorrectly, but if you've already gotten the exploration badges, when you go back around a second time while in SG mode, you won't hear the 'ding' or see a notification. Because you've already gotten them.
It just silently keeps track of the ones you've hit in SG mode, that is until you unlock the zone Beacon Badge. -
Quote:You're right, read in a monotone I don't see how anyone could construe this as being condescending, dismissive, or derisive...That said, I can understand how I might come across as condescending, dismissive, or derisive. I don't intend to. It's a failure of the medium that inflection and emotion can't be transcribed.
It might serve you better, in the future, to read all posts in a flat monotone without emotion or inflection, whether mine or someone else's, beyond intentional accent (Capital letters, bolding, etc)
This discussion was civil until you started with the "condescending, dismissive, or derisive" comments and then Penny responded in kind. At this point it's not even a discussion anymore. -
I find the comment highlighted to be the biggest hole in your math...
Quote:With the introduction of Power Customization, just about every powerset would allow it's creator to use the word "Blaze" in the name. I'd be hard pressed to justify Assault Riffle and likely Archery, but I'm sure someone can and likely has created an AR or Arch character with "Blaze" in the name.I actually once did the math on this... Let's see if it still holds up.
Let's assume that, in total, there are about 120,000 players on CoH.
Let's split those up evenly among the various archetypes, and with a bit of rounding we get 8,571 players on each archetype at a given time.
Let's also split that number by server, and we wind up with 779 players on Virtue (for example) playing one archetype.
Now let's divide each archetype by the number of primary powersets and discard all the ones which don't have a "Fire" primary.

Glad to see his problem was resolved.
Welcome back to the game for the both of you. -
Your friend will likely have to start a Support Ticket with Customer Service through the 'Ask a Question' tab at NCsoft Support. Enough failed attempts will lock down the account entirely.
or
Call by Phone: Phone customer service for billing and technical issues from Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m. CT, by calling (512) 225-6359 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting (512) 225-6359 end_of_the_skype_highlighting
Check out this specific issue from their support page. It lets you know the info they are going to need to help your friend resolve this. -
Mine are 60/40 fem/male and not because I like to watch their backside, because I don't bat for the other team. Okay, when Walk came out I did it was nice to watch.
The male forms though, as others have said when they walk it's like their are on x-country skies AND have a pole jammed up their backsides, with their shoulders moving unnaturally to the sides like they are tilting over from the waist.
At least the female model has a more natural gate and motion to it in the shoulders, hips, and placement of the feet when they hit the ground. One foot in front of the other, as opposed to each foot coming down in front of it's last position. -
Also, if you have access to an SG, the Empowerment Station will be useful as well. Using Invention Salvage you can craft a variety of 60 minute self buffs.
-
I've never really given it much thought, out of about 12 characters I regularly play (as opposed to the 60 or so others that I only occasionally play,) only 2 have the Fitness pool.

Quote:Yeah, my Illusionist thought her Deceive power was so underwhelming, she ran out and got herself some Nectar, bought an excess amount of clothing to show off her Socialite status while in Pocket D, which just lead to a World of Confusion. An ongoing discussion of very useful game elements in City of Heroes that people don't use, don't know about, or don't appreciate enough.
1. Empowerment Buffs.
2. Confusion -
Stunning Arrow is your friend, use it on the Sapper. Siphon Speed the Gunslinger.
And I'm not sure if you've settled on an APP yet, but Mass Hypnosis is great for setting up mobs for RoA.
Putting a Devastation: Chance for Hold in Snap Shot or Aimed Shot gives you a pretty good chance of holding a foe because they recharge so quickly, you can pretty much spam the attacks. -
In these types of situations, I'd looks a several options.
Slot Procs in your Tier 1 & 2 attacks.
Nectar comes in handy in these situations.
Looks for Day Job temp powers that will allow you to stun/sleep/confuse/blind.
Beguile allows you to Placate your target.
Security Chief is an Targeted AoE Hold.
Scientist gives you and Targeted AoE Sleep.
There are numerous temp powers you receive in missions as well.
And my personal favourite, Psychic Mastery's Dominate and Mass Hypnosis. -
Quote:This is true.Well what's good for the goose is good for the gander. We can dismiss their reasons just as easily and with the knowledge that the unique naming policy is already in effect and unlikely to change without a massive upswelling of players demanding it. Which the devs didn't get when they asked.
I've also seen mentioned in the past that, non-unique names would be okay, if they all belonged to the same global. -
Quote:That, and it seems that any reason given to retain unique naming is dismissed or ignored.Funny and we've not seen any valid explanation as to why names should not be unique. All we see are variations of people getting mad because they weren't the first to use it.
My reason for keeping the current system and why I feel that having a unique name for my character is important:
I have a character on server X, and for sake of arguments, it's the first to have said name 'From the Depths'. It is a creature from the darkest depths of the oceans, which despises humanity and will do anything to assure it destruction.
I log in one day to see "From the Depths', a Demon Summoning MM. Well I guess the name fits, but it works against the convention of my own character's concept.
My character then travels to another zone and while heading to a beat-down on some vahzilok, runs across 'From the Depths' Joe Plumber who happens to be a sewer maintenance worker. A humorous take on the name, but also works against the convention of my own character.
All viable concepts.
The other two just happen to break the fourth wall for me while playing my character. To me it is immersion breaking. -
Quote:No, it wouldn't. Otherwise, I wouldn't be hearing them now while I'm in the CC in Icon or the Tiki Lounge.
I personally hate this idea dislike this idea, as I cannot interact with anyone while in the CC, /tells for instance. Nothing is more annoying than getting a tell while in the CC and being able to respond to it.
I haven't suffered market lag since the new UI went it. Lag at the market, sure (except for the one in Imperial City, my personal favourite market in the entire game.) But I've not experienced lag in the UI since the change. -

Quote:Well, let's see. I took 3 years for the Devs to make it to anything other than west coast events.Attention East Coasters. When you feel the need to complain that you get shut out of events such as all the conventions that take place on the West coast remember this. West coast inhabitants with a job are pretty much shut out of all in game special events. Since the Paragon Studios have the same work shift as most of us we never get to see these special events. Not the many invasion events Avatea announces such as past incursions of Malta or whoever it was. Not the devs showing up to spawn hoards of the GMs. And not the events which give away expansion packs and costume codes.
For that matter those of us who don't sit at a desk and have the ability to keep the forums and twitter open in the background also get to miss all the twitter based giveaways. In other words if it's business hours for them it's SOL for us.
Of course this is the first time I've gotten irked at this. Not because of the free party pack. I have no problem paying for that. But because this could have been my one chance to get all the costume codes and that is something which I would happily pay for.
I am on the west coast, I work on weekends, so not only will I likely miss out on this event, I also miss out on the majority of 2XP weekends, and pretty much any other event that is usually held.
It's just a game and it doesn't really bother me, good luck to those that can attend. -
Spine's AoE, is probably the most annoying sound in the game for me, followed shortly by the Tech insp storage bins, then the Demon howls, then Sonic.
Spine's AoE and Tech insp storage, I silenced.
Demon howls, are now the giggles of a 2 year old.
Sonic is a combination of chimes and bird sounds.
MM Botz as mentioned before, rubber duckie squeak. Didn't really find it annoying, but they do so much clomping around. -
Looks like Monday is the only time I can attend, as it's my day off.
-
The Backwards Bishop is likely the person to annoy about this (who must be locked in a dungeon as I haven't seen him post in quite some time.)
The whole faction thing is probably the sticking point, before the market merge and ability to email cross-faction, it would probably have been simpler (although still not easy.) One could email an invite that would have shown up as a 'claim' to the recipient. Problem is, these types of emails go to globals, how does one know what server/faction the gleemail was sent from/to. So it's another function that has to be built into the email system.
I'd love be able to SG invite/promote/demote off-line characters as well.
