The Super Boosters are a non-essential add-on. It gets you a few extra frilly's that are nice to have, but not necessary for gameplay.

Try this analogy. A movie is released on DVD, you like it and buy it. Some months or years later, the studio decides to re-release the same movie with some extra fluff in it (deleted scenes, more documentary stuff, what have you) and hope that you put down more money for this new one. You already have the movie, so if you get the new "special edition" then you're really only paying for the new fluff. It's called double dipping. Very much like what we've been seeing here.

Your DVD analogy fails, you bought the movie (CoX) then you have the option to buy the extras, you are not required to buy both, again.

As far as 'double-dipping' is concerned, that refers to government workers getting paid for working and pulling their government pension at the same time.

CoX is more like your phone company, you're paying for you basic phone line, if you then want Caller ID/Call Waiting/Voice Mail, that's extra.

The learning curve is why I didn't mention Masterminds, or Dual Blade Brutes, or a Kin/Arch Defender blue-side. (Granted, learning one of those right off the bat make something like a Blaster seem effortless.)

They both contain the same information. Red-side, a Brute is going to be you best solo option, something along the lines of Super Strength/Invulnerable or /Willpower, others will pop in with their recommendations.

Azrael, in the beginning it's supposed to be hard, you are in essence, a Super Larvae.

You may have stated it and I missed it, but what server are you on? I, as well as the others here, have characters pretty much on every server. You willingness to start over from scratch an learn what the game is really about is encouraging, and I'd be more than happy to team with you (time permitting) and pass on what little knowledge I have learned during my time here.

And if the last time you played was back in '05, then you will find leveling much easier now (even staying away from AE.)

I primarily play on Protector and Justice, but I have characters on every server. I recommend that now that you are on the forums, go down to the server specific threads and see what's going on.

As stated, they would need a license to perform, not just to wear a costume. I have more sympathy for the officers (one did get punched in the face.) I'm sure they didn't want to be seen by a bunch of tourists and their kids as 'The people that arrested the Superman and The Dark Knight.'
