"Are truly believing was no other possible outcome than Reichsmann conquering any dimension Nazi idiot encountered?" he asked, sounding somewhere between contemptuous and amused.
[/ QUOTE ]
"Yeah, umm... We kinda kicked the crap out of him", Isabel added. "Well, not us personally but the ones that were there at the time. They froze him and stuck him in a basement somewhere. He's probably still down there, come to think of it." She very carefully avoided saying that she knew for a fact that said basement was in the old Freedom Phalanx headquarters in Boomtown. Given these people would in all likelihood want to rescue him or something, she saw no reason to make it easy. -
(( Knew I was forgetting a thread somewhere.
))
[ QUOTE ]
"Where did you come across such a small cloaking device though? Is it yours? Clearly you didn't build it, but did you purchase it or collect it off of someone or something?"
[/ QUOTE ]
"Neither", Ildela replied, putting the device back into a pocket. "Got it about four hundred years ago, as a gift from a man by the name of Acid Zero. Not like I need it these days though, not much here in the Isles that can see through my normal invisibility anyway. Still, it has sentimental value of sorts."
She took a gulp from the drink she somehow still hadn't finished (Anyone paying a bit of attention might notice she'd drunk far more than what was actually in the mug, yet there didn't seem to be much of a difference in how much was left) and stared intently at the wall in front of her. From the distant, almost sad look in her eyes though it was easy enough to tell she wasn't really looking at the wall at all, but rather at some memory from long ago as it played out in her mind. -
(( Considering how much time I spend waiting on the rest of you, you have no right to complain when I feel lazy for a day or two.
))
[ QUOTE ]
"To do that, you would need to lower your shield first." the Drustevník replied neutrally, though there did lie a hint of 'right back at you' in regard to her thinking they weren't paying attention.
[/ QUOTE ]
"Hmm. That I would", Isabel mused. "Still, bet I could get at least two of you before you realised it was down." From her tone though, it was clear she did not at present have any intention of doing any such thing.
[ QUOTE ]
If you will not comply, we will use force - and we have more than enough to handle such as you.
[/ QUOTE ]
"You're sure about that, are you?", Isabel asked, the energy leaking from her eyes flaring as she spoke. There was a faint hint of a challenge in her voice, though again it was clear she wasn't speaking with intent to actually do it.
In truth, Isabel had never actually tested the upper limits of her powers. She'd blown up a city block once (Thankfully an abandoned one, out in Boomtown and nowhere near anything), and thought she'd better stop there. Still, she hadn't been joking in the slightest about her earlier threat to turn the whole place into a smoking crater. -
(( I was waiting for Averick. ))
-
Would also look cool with ice controllers, defenders, dominators and corruptors
Most of those I have too, so yeah I'm all for this. -
"You know how tempting it is to blow away a couple of you guys while your attention is completely on him?", Isabel asked suddenly in an amused voice, gesturing through the wall towards Zeo. In truth she had no intention of doing any such thing, but just felt like reminding them of her presence since she'd apparently become invisible while she wasn't paying attention.
Of course, if they were jumpy enough to start shooting just at the implied threat then she probably would blow a few of them away. Only if they started it though. If they didn't, she was content to remain where she was, safe inside her forcefield.
[ QUOTE ]
Wolfgang meanwhile motioned for the others to follow, and with the Kazbek-armored troopers now giving passage, entered the detention block...
[/ QUOTE ]
Isabel merely observed silently as Wolfgang and his troops came in. So that's one of those cyborgs the rebels were talking about? Huh. Doesn't look that scary. From there her thoughts drifted to Egregore, and wondering what'd become of the other cyborg after they lost him. Of course she had no way of knowing that he (or at least his corpse) was currently in the same building as her. -
There's a power ingame already called Contaminated Strike, though. (Least I think that's what it's called.) It's one of the attacks the Shivans have, and it most certainly is not a cone

[/ QUOTE ] -
If you don't mind them having a different tag, you can sort of do this already by putting your unique bosses and such in a different group. But yeah, this plus an option to set things to one per spawn maximum (ala Sappers) are things I'll always go for.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Japan is in the same timezone as us, and I know quite a few Japanese players, and there are the New Zealanders who are an hour ahead of us, who would be spitting chips at 9pm shutdowns.
[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, in my experience it shuts down at either 1am or 3am depending on daylight saving, and occasional spouts of 2am when they've switched over and we haven't or vice versa. Earliest I've ever seen it is midnight, which is only on patch days. -
"Yeah, we found the ones in the warehouse", Cassie replied absently, as Mac continued menacing the already terrified employees. The big Assault Bot had never been too big on interrogations, unless they involved the use of force or at least the threat of such. So he amused himself by seeing how many of them he could scare into fainting like the first few had.
"I don't suppose you'd be kind enough to give me the address of this headquarters in Steel Canyon, for completeness' sake if nothing else?", the mastermind continued, ignoring her minion's amusement for now.
[ QUOTE ]
One compound, SPX-467, code named "Slumberyn," had been flagged as dangerous for public use. Users would find themselves in more of a "hypnotized" state that left them exceptionally open to suggestion. Sedadyne immediately recalled the formula and ceased production.
[/ QUOTE ]
The robot hmm'ed quietly to himself as he scanned the files in question, not even needing the borderline-sentient AI all of Cassie's bots had to recognise the similarity between this compound and the one presumably used on the group that had been attacked in Brickstown.
[ QUOTE ]
For some odd reason, the name of the agency wasn't recorded, but the individual who would be receiving the formula and conducting further research was. Hack recovered the name and address of one Doctor Hallcomb.
[/ QUOTE ]
And immediately began running a search on the wider internet, looking for anything publicly-available or otherwise on this Doctor Hallcomb or the company he worked for. Protected stuff would of course be harder to find and harder still to get into, but Hack wasn't called that for nothing. There was a good chance he'd get at any such data he found. -
[ QUOTE ]
"Is it a atmospheric moisture extraction to cellulose and lignin barrier?"
[/ QUOTE ]
"Huh?", Ildela wasn't even sure what that meant, but she was pretty sure it wasn't anywhere close. She took a moment to think, to dig up something from a long time ago before replying. "Nope, actually..." Her voice changed, taking on an odd quality as she attempted (probably poorly) to imitate someone. "Combination anti-detection screen. Dark matter cloak, strewstream radiation compensator, individualabsorber, et cetera. Only things that can get through this are sound and physical contact. Well, that and halfspace stuff." -
[ QUOTE ]
Two Caldoks switched out for seven and a Tsaiv, but these came in Kazbeks - elite division.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isabel whistled in appreciation from the wall she'd taken up a position leaning against, just inside the former door of her cell. From here she could see most of what was going on outside. The forcefield bubble around her stayed very much up, but aside from that she did nothing threatening of any kind. She was however very much prepared to defend herself at the faintest sign of aggression from the troops, as the faint blueish glow in her eyes would attest. -
[ QUOTE ]
On the same track, I know a few who sold their souls for the same.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ildela abruptly burst out laughing at that, though even after she stopped she didn't care to say why. Clearly she found the whole idea rather amusing, though.
[ QUOTE ]
"Can you imagine if you couldn't explain something? Something so technologically advanced that it was light years beyond your understanding."
[/ QUOTE ]
"Can I imagine?", Ildela repeated, a smile crossing her face once more. "Why bother merely imagining, when one can hold tangible proof in the palm of their hand?" She didn't explain further, but from the way she started digging around in her pockets, one could logically make the assumption that she believed at least that she had just such an object in her possession. "Dammit... where did I put that...", she muttered as she kept digging, completely ignoring the explosion of spikey thorns from the man sitting next to her in favor of continued searching. The air around her shimmered oddly with a series of flashes, as her ever-present energy shield deflected those that would otherwise have hit her. Eventually, she came up with a thin silver disk about the size of a wristwatch. "Go on then," she dared, placing the object on the counter between them. "See if you can tell me what that does." -
[ QUOTE ]
No that munitions pool is a regular rifle this is an energy rifle...that's why the MMs who use this use a different model.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's exactly what I'm saying. Munitions would need to be modified to use the energy rifle for characters with this set, to avoid excessive redraw. -
[ QUOTE ]
change the single target hold to a cryobeam, maybe.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's already Cryo Freeze Ray in the munitions epic pool, for blasters at least. Speaking of which, they'd need to make the powers there work with the same rifle as this set for characters that have both, to avoid overly excessive redraw. -
[ QUOTE ]
As Doctor Von Krayzee spoke his outrage, the Tomato poked him in the shoulder then pointed around the bar. "Oh, yes, of course. It's a bar... where people drink."
[/ QUOTE ]
"You know", Ildela mused absently. "One does have to wonder about the state of the world when the fruit is paying more attention than you are. ...Or are tomatoes a vegetable, I could never remember." she laughed, taking another gulp of her drink and shooting a glance over to the screens to see if any of those fights were over yet.
"But to answer your question," she continued, turning back to him. "No, I'm about as un-scientific as you could get. Well, unless knowing exactly where to stab someone to inflict the greatest amount of pain counts as science. Biology, maybe." -
[ QUOTE ]
Similar to adding an Escort you get the field for "Mission Failure". If you have Random Maps selected it would not be available.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not quite, that field's always there and you can always put something in it. Even on missions that can't possibly be failed. It's just if you put in an escort or defendable object and have it required, that the interface reminds you to write failure dialogue. -
[ QUOTE ]
According to paragon wiki, the robotics set is energy/smashing. i figured lethal makes more sense for lasers, since they would go through armor and such.
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah, I stand corrected. Still, energy/smash or as someone else suggested, energy/fire makes more sense to me than energy/lethal. Also, specifically stating lasers may not be a good idea, people like to have freedom to choose things like that in their concept. So you say it's an energy rifle, rather than something more specific like a laser rifle, pulse rifle, etc.
[ QUOTE ]
The idea of the death ray, is that you DONT fire anything else while you have it toggles on.
[/ QUOTE ]
You didn't say that in the first post.In that case, something like the aforementioned Malta sappers seems very appropriate. (And is wavy as well, like you want. Really I just want an excuse to have the sapper rifle as an unlockable option.) That, or the particle beams from the sewer trial. Also, having it oscilate wildly makes me think Ghostbusters, which I suppose isn't a terribly bad thing from my point of view.
[ QUOTE ]
I would have made one power (the burst or blast) a three-shot burst, giving (low-moderate) damage in a three-tic DoT, and a chance to Stun.
[/ QUOTE ]
The protector bot heavy burst animation I suggested for the tier 3 blast is already a three-shot burst.
[ QUOTE ]
Also, I forgot about Aim. My mind is in veg-mode today. Maybe replace Kinetic Nullification array with aim? Use KnA in a defender/corrupter energy rifle debuff set?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that'd be the best power to remove in my opinion if you wanted Aim in the set. -
I have a character that this would fit perfectly, so it gets a big thumbs up from me. Though, having them be energy/lethal seems a little off to me. They should be pure energy, same as the attacks in the mastermind robotics set. Death Ray seems odd too, since how do you fire other attacks when you're still firing that? Alternately, you could replace it with something akin to the Malta sapper rifles. (With the same perhaps recoloured effects, I always wanted those in a non-temp power. And the sapper gun as a (probably unlockable) customisation option would be awesome if at all possible.)
Also, some animations just 'cause I'm bored:
Pulse Rifle Shot - As MM Robotics tier 1 blast.
Pulse Rifle Blast - As MM Robotics tier 2 blast.
Pulse Rifle Burst - Take the FX and sounds from the Protector Bot's heavy burst. Seems appropriate for an attack that does big damage, plus it just looks cool.
Photon Grenade - As MM Photon Grenade.
Kinetic Nullifier - Something akin to the Assault Bot's single plasma cannon, with a stunned animation on the enemy, like what KO Blow and the PB's Incandescent Strike does even though those are holds too. Maybe with FX similar to foes hit by some powers in the Kinetics set.
Kinetic Nullification Array - Same as Kinetic Nullifier, except make the energy pulses smaller and no stun animation on enemies, again with similar FX to Kinetics. Either a short charge animation then fire all at once, or fire randomly ala Crab Spider's Suppression.
Piercing Beam - Take the animation from Assault Rifle's sniper power. FX, maybe a recoloured version of Fire Blast's Blazing Bolt, without the flames on impact or on the character's hands. Charging sound maybe similar to what the MM battle drones do when charging their heavy laser attack.
Death Ray - To be honest, I can't think of anything here. Constant damage suggests constant ray, but any animation with said constant ray would look silly when firing off other powers while running it.
Photon Bomb - Basically a suped up Photon Grenade, bigger and boomier, maybe with a short charge-up effect in the animation. Alternately you could replace this power with basically a laser full auto, again similar to what the robots have. -
[ QUOTE ]
You know, like a bolt? Take the animation for Power thrust, speed it up and open the hand. Voila, new animation.
[/ QUOTE ]
As I understand it, Power Thrust actually uses the same open hand animation as for things like Speed Boost and some lower tier ranged attacks. It's just hidden behind the giant pink pom-poms. -
You can't get into a co-op team outside of a co-op zone to begin with, so nothing needs to change there. But yeah, for same-side teams I'm all for this.
-
[ QUOTE ]
"The why matters! What kind of scientist ARE you?"
[/ QUOTE ]
"I'm not a scientist at all, Doc", Ildela laughed. "And I don't give a damn, thus putting paid to your 'everyone cares' theory. Trust me, some things in this world can't be and shouldn't be attempted to be explained by science. I should know, I'm one of them." Exactly what she meant by that, she left up to his imagination. Though she'd probably give a demonstation if he asked. -
"Who cares if it shouldn't work", Ildela interrupted, thoroughly bored of the science-y talk. "Obvious fact is it does, what's so important about why it does?" She shrugged before going back to watching the fights, smiling as a particularly vicious swipe of one massive tentacle from Lusca sent one hero to the bottom of the harbor. He didn't come back up, but a faint flash of light beneath the water gave evidence to the mediporters still working as intended.
-
Mine's now up. Actually has been for a while but I was lazy and forgot to post. Anyway, it's in my sig.
