Quote:Avatar Aang, Avatar Korra, Kitara, Master Pakuu, Aquaman, Squirtle, and several Naruto Characters all have water based powers, properties, but among these the ones from Avatar are very popular, because of water bending...Also: Yay, Water Blast. But with a period instead of an exclamation point, because it's yay, but it's not that yay. It's fun and all, but I never understood why there was so much demand for it in the first place. All the water-blasting characters in traditional superhero fiction, I guess? Like, um... well, Hydro-Man, I guess, even if his thing is more being made of water than shooting/throwing/spraying it (and also, who remembers or ever cared about Hydro-Man?)... and also, um... actually, I can't really think of anyone else. But hey, it's a decent set anyway, so whatever.

Quote:Lol. I say keep em coming, but I think you have the mechanics confused. Water Blast does not use a "combo" mechanic, it's more like "Power build up."Well, I'll say my two cents.
Water Blasters combo/tidal mechanics our how do you say it. Getting really old of seeing the same thing in just about every new power set coming out. Dual Blades was the first, the you got Street Justice and then Titian Weapon and then Staff Fighting, if your going to come out with a new power set, then think, how many players are SICK of the combo stuff? I'm however getting kinda bored of seeing the same combo stuff over and over and over again. Think of something new please? The whole water blast stuff seems really lame to me but I peeked at videos on youtube and have to say...my favorite move is Geyser the T9 attack looks pretty sweet. But I honestly don't think I'm going to touch water blast for MONTHS I still haven't gotten a dual blade character pass lv 10 and I LOVE DUAL BLADES... But yeah I don't know how many other players are out their that think the same as me "Oh joy another combo power set yippy e-e..." The first and second power set was yay a new thing! third ok same deal but also threw in Momentum and then staff oh...-.- another fricking combo set woo im so thrilled...I disliked the fact of a water blast...couldn't have through of anything cooler? Apparently not, but disliked water blaster and dislike it more now after finding it's another combo set...honestly if I do make one -.- skipping damn near all the powers but Geyser and the build up...
ON THE OTHER NOTE
If COH EVER EVER makes a Scythe power set...and they make it a combo set...I'd play that set over and over and over again in till my heart is content. Not many games out there that has Scythe's but if your going to make a Scythe power set...make it look amazing and not cheesy.
Well my two cents '-'
I have been asking for Water blast for YEARS as well as water control (which I hope we get). I too would like to see some scythes, but to be honest I am tired of the Lethal/Smashing types that come with weapon sets. So if they did do Scythes hopefully they would channel the whole negative energy damage type to this set. -

Quote:I disagree with this as well. I too have an ice/ice tanker at 42 the two auras are great, plus I slot the tanker ATO proc in it for stackable +resistance. I've seen this proc stack about 5 times in a single mob which really helped reduce the damage recvd from the AV I was tanking as well (when any damage got through). Damage is damage also BU + icicles is delicious. I only use taunt to pull a random mob off a blaster or someone that is not with the group. If you don't plan on soloing, Then consider skipping Icicles. It does 8 damage per tick. A lot of people like Damage auras and usually I do too! But on an ice tanker, where you already have Chilling Embrace as a taunt aura, icicles is redundant and the damage is very low... and lethal.
For your EPP go Soul. I'm sure there is a good reason to go something else, but I cannot fathom tanking without Darkest Night on any tanker. I'm sure others get along fine but highly consider improving your tankiness with darkest night so you can do your main job even better.
Once I hit 50 I will redo his build too and probably proc out Icicles where I can for that much damage potential. Also my chilling embrace is slotted with the slow damage proc.
Quote:Damage Auras also have fairly good DPE for an AoE effect. If you're constantly surrounded by mobs, which as a tank you should be, you'll find that your Damage Aura will be around the second highest damaging attack you've got. Those small, consistently running, ticks add up.

Quote:This! Especially the last paragraph... After working in customer service/care for 5+ years The whole "customer is always right" way of thinking was just an excuse to provide the customer with a scapegoat to say: "I have the upper hand" without any real justification of their request/dispute/complaint.An employee that once told me this I recommended they go off on their own and set up a bread shop. Which they did. I still sell meat. They now wear a paper hat.
The only thing I wish upon the people who make business suggestions is that they be forced to bet their livelihoods upon them. -
Quote:Who cares if you don't like the amplifiers? What wrong does it do to you if someone else purchases it and use it as they see fit? There are many gamers that like to solo (I for one and a Team happy person, but to each is own). So what if people buy amplifiers, how does that hurt you? This had better not turn into a PvP argument either, because I will only reply lolpvp, even though I used to PvP before it got jacked up by the devs.Actually it is a misunderstanding that feedback shouldn't be acted on, based on a lifetime of being overlooked.
Generally you get a test group, find out what they like and dislike, and either act on what they like, or realise that the test group wasn't the right group in the first place so therefore replace it with a better group.
In this case they ask feedback of the beta testers, then ignore it, which is fine if they don't think the beta testers are a valid cross section of the game. But if that is the case they should stop asking for our feedback and start asking feedback from whichever group they do think represents the right cross section of players. If they keep asking our feedback you have to question if they are just asking for it to keep us placated, allowing us to feel special when occasionally our feedback matches what they want.
That is a very parent/child relationship where the parent knows best, but this is a different type of relationship and the standard quote is 'the customer is always right'.
Also this wasn't just 'I prefer red to blue' feedback, which is very subjective, this was often passionate feedback about the direction the game was heading and how close they are to losing dedicated long term players. If I was in charge I would be extremely worried about upsetting part of the long term playerbase.
I know the idea is to grab as much money as they can before the game closes, a business is a business after all, and CoX can't be too far from closing, but that doesn't mean we should be happy with it.
Don't get me wrong some of the changes to PvP I liked, while others did not make any sense to me. But I am not griping about it, I just don't pvp anymore. There are many things on the market I don't agree with or care for rather, but if others want it, let em have it. Why is it that you have an issue with these amplifiers? -
Has there been any progress with the reproduction of this bug that happens with the shared xp power or has it made it to the known issues list yet?

*looks for water blast to be hidden in there somewhere*

Quote:1. I have ran both these sets and I find that my Ill/Dark out preforms my ill/rad which has been deleted. Fluffy is a great addition to the pet less rad build. The stacked -regen that fluffy, HT, and the heal provides is definitely noticeable in EB/AV/GM fights. Some background, I'm looking at moving some of my characters to Virtue from Freedom and I am thinking about running a concept only policy for everything based on my main character.
I have an Ill/Rad whom I adore but I was considering re-rolling him on virtue to fit the new concept ideals.
When I look at my current build I don't use many of the rad powerset so I was wondering on a performance basis how they compare.
My main questions are :
1. Will a Ill/Dark solo a GM as easily as an Ill/Rad
2. Does having a Dark Servant make a difference
3. How much will I miss lingering radiation
Many Thanks
2. Yes double the heal and stacked -th with controls of his own.
3. I don't, not sure if you will eitherif any power I'd miss it would be AM, although +damage does not do much direct damage buffing to Illusionists in general outside of spectral wounds and the single target hold, but I still get perm PA on /dark build too.

Quote:I agree with this as well. I am currently running a fire/stone, while very end heavy (no IO's atm) he is a melee monster.I wouldn't say it sucks 'now'. Some will tell it's always sucked. Nothing has changed for elec since it launched for doms.
As for the pairings, I think /earth goes better with fire control if you plan to melee a lot with Hot Feet and Cinders.
But if you're planning to not take those powers for whatever reason, then /elec would be a good selection as it has a bit more range than melee options.
I think what folks might be referring to regarding elec is Thunderstrike. It does knockback instead of knockdown, which some suffer erectile dysfunction over.
Also this is the one combination that gets two -speed damage auras: Hotfeet & Mud Pots! I can't wait for IO's and Cardio for my toon. -
Quote:Ok?I'ld like heal self on my storm and other support characters that only get heal other.
I believe I said that I wished the vet reward (the one that allows for you to skip a prerequesite would carry over to pools like presence, fighting, medicine & stealth). I am not saying you should not get what you are asking for, I merely stated what I use aid other and stim for on my melee toons. -

Quote:Not necessarily. Time rifts, dimension tears, time warps, whatever you like to call em, exist in worlds like COX or any fiction-based reality.Thematically it is random. Would equally convenient portal buildings be any different? Put the currently non-existent 2nd floor into the new City Hall and put the portals there. Any sufficiently advanced technology might still do better with a roof to keep the weather and invasion spawns out.
Your example of the invasions, furthers this. You could easily look at it in numerous ways.
Ex:
-After the invasions began the fabric of space could have weakened causing numerous portals or rifts.
-A leak from rikti technology.
Use your imagination
I don't see them as being random. -
Quote:I have seen but a few of these posts about people complaining that devs are making travel more "convenient" for others, but there seem to be a select few that have an issue with it and thematically call it random...Is anyone else of two minds on the whole portal system?
One of the things I like about Paragon City is that it has placement. Perez Park is South of Steel Canyon, which is south of Boom Town. Atlas is West of Perez. The zones flow. All the zones make up the city.
The Rogue Isles are just some random places connected by boat in the least convenient way possible. There's no structure, and all you have to remember is that you have to go to the boats to get anywhere. This is one major reason why I dislike redside so much.
Then Vanguard & the metro unification came to Paragon, and it saved Founder's Falls. Yay for travel that fits into the world. Mostly. It's organized: You have to go to the vanguard centers & the metro is just more convenient.
And having Oro means we see level fifties outside Peregrine Island. And it's a place of it's own. A Hub. There's stuff you can do there. Honest! Go look it up.
But now we just lay down portals all over the universe willy-nilly. No hubs, no centers, no metros, no boats. No gathering places, no flow, no continuity. Might as well just make random unconnected zones, just like in all those games that haven't been around for 8 years. I'd like a North Pole Zone, and a Mount Everest Zone and a Marianas Trench zone and a Valles Marineris zone while we're throwing away the city, plz.
Anyway, I'll use'em, and I'll appreciate the time savings, but I won't like'em. Not a bit.
The way I see it, if you don't like em, don't use em. Pretend like they are not there. After all, we are playing a MMORPG, where we pretend we are heroes/villains, just do the same with the portals...
...and remember "There is no spoon." -
Damn you! I meant thank you!

I took stimulant/heal other on my sr scrapper and ice tanker (alternate builds) to aid squishies when they are in a bind, i.e. mezzed or low health to keep them in the battle to support me when needed. Although I would LIKE Aid Self right away the other powers have their uses.
TBH I really wish the vet reward to skip prerequisites carried over to the med, leadership and especially the friggin fighting pool... -
bleh I am not even caring about the market items now just don't disappoint me next week please. Thankx u bye!

Thank goodness some else had the issue as well. I thought it was just me who had the first "run-in" about this power.
EDIT: Thats the friend of mine I referenced "De_monique"
Quote:I wish I would be that silly to go for that... /sarcasmAlthough 1 concern I do have with the shared xp boosters is that lately I've been seeing players in the help channel advertising (not too often, about 1 or twice every day or two) that they will use the booster on another player for a price and also other players in help saying they will pay to have an xp booster used on them. Saw 1 person yesterday in Atlas Park broadcast advertise for 100 mill inf for the 8 hour shared xp and then a minute later dropped the price down to 75 million. I think this could be potentially used as a scam, i.e., the seller demands the inf up front then logs out after accepting the money.
Personally I think these shared xp boosters were a major fail. -
Yes, that is correct in-game time. I told him to petition that as well. He said he did and did not get a response, but he probably could have checked the wrong email too.
