  1. I've stopped using the CH for most salvage and recipe sales, you get thousands more (for standard IO recipes anyway) from a shop.

However, that's based on actually doing a bit of research, which you have to do in any game system with auctions. I like the system in CoH.
  2. I've been noticing lag in chat at times for a few days. No mapservers not caused by my lousy ADSL router, and no real problems with missions or anything. Just long delays between hitting return and text posting.

    Export SG roster

It's going to tell them how many members you had last time you could be bothered to update it.

kinda like the bracers of Wonder Woman for example?

You don't really use that kind of shield the way you use a full-sized shield. In games, that's usually modelled as armour of some kind.
  5. For a character that spends its time in melee, Mez protection is fairly useful. I hate being stunned, but then I solo a lot and it's a sure way to end up dead.

Of course, in a team, perhaps your guy was hoping to get protection off a Defender or something...

These microtransactions are getting a bit too much.

    (sorry, OT)
  7. And another one...

Put a base portal in the Vanguard base in the RWZ.

Any aggro the Sentinal generates is transfered to the pet owner.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Transferred to, or tends to fall upon?

Of course, all that's needed there was for the pet owner to be the originator of the damage. I don't think the swarms in the original power do damage.
  9. Not from the description, no. The Sentinal isn't alive and can't be targetted. If it attacks someone, they are going to look for the first target, which might not be the caster.

the cyborg pack is at least useful for everyone, not exclusive for lvl 50 owners.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you'll find that that should be "the cyborg pack can be used by everyone" since the cyborg pack (and especially the rather dumb power) is not useful to everyone.

At the point where any of my fully organic characters start making noises like a siren, blow off large amounts of steam, and then explode, I'll just hang up my hat. Frankly, with the overdone animation, it's not even 'useful' to my robotic heroes.
  11. Helpful Hint 5: If you are making a character page, don't copy the CharacterBox entry and fill it in, copy the big 'cheat sheet' box at the bottom and fill in from there. The poor moderators must be getting sick of adding categories to pages by now.

    Timed Missions

    [ QUOTE ]
Personally I don't like timed missions at all. I always avoid them whenever I can, not always possible of course. To me, a game is something that I can pick up and put down whenver I want. Having to commit for hours at a time for TF's is tough enough sometimes, failing missions because I get called away to something more important is just a little annoying

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're missing out. A lot of timed missions have huge timers and can be done in 10 minutes. Once you're in an instance, the game will not log you out for inactivity.

So, take the missions, start doing them. If you get called away, just leave it sat there and it's quite possible you'll still have time to finish it later.

Honestly, if this worries you, then I assume you never take instanced missions due to the frustration of having to restart them all the time due to interruptions.

    Harbinger OOC

It's possible that I may have some trouble getting online for the next couple of weeks (as of Monday). Currently it should be okay. I'll try to get something posted here if it's going to be an issue.

Should be fine by month end, however.
  14. (( You always did have a talent for writing weepy scenes. Having my character referenced in there makes it worse. ))

(( Should've got someone to proof read it, but it's a rather moving little character piece. Can't wait to see the next bits. ))
  15. Yeah, but... they'd need a budget...

Would need to make this count when you are malefactored/exemplared down aswell or most toons will never get this. At least i dont think to many of mine spent 24hours as a lk before they hit 59.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Two things.

How do you get to 59?

And, you seem to be thinking that badges are there to be got. If they give some power then, yeah, they probably ought to be effectively obtainable without effort, but there are some badges which are just downright impossible to get. Take a look at the Healing badges sometime.

IIRC, Kelly stems from the fact that 'Kelly' was a fairly common Irish name, and a lot of Irish immigrants to the US went into the police force. So cops got nicknamed 'Kellys.'

    Just FYI.

it's just a matter of tweaking a few things to give it to us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll give you that one, purely because you're a beetle. However, don't say things like that unless you happen to work for the Powers Group in NCNC. For starters, the power you're talking about has a load of weird stuff in it which is bound to require more than "a matter of tweaking."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Harsh. And true I don't know much about the power development, but I do recognise that it's easier to tweak an existing elelment than creating one from scratch. I only said that as a relative term.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Frankly, the only thing that is being saved is the animation and artwork for the swarms. The power calls for them to be triggered by a power and behave in a totally different way to the existing use of that artwork resource.

Now, if you think that's trivial and couldn't possibly cause any issues, just look at the fun they've had with a trivial power like Self-destruction. And that doesn't have tricks in it like Threat Diversion, which currently isn't even in the game as far as I'm aware.

    Timed Missions

    [ QUOTE ]
If the mission is so important and you fail due to crash or RL impedance etc, you can always redo via Ouroboros

    [/ QUOTE ]

Assuming, of course, that it is available via...

I guess it depends what you mean by important. There's rarely anything important attached to timed missions, and there's no real penalty for failure in this game, aside from not getting the mission bonus.

    Timed Missions

    [ QUOTE ]
For most of them anyway there seems to be far too much time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And then you hit that Timed Kill All where you've killed everything in sight, patrolled the entire map three times, done it backwards, at a slow run, scruitinised the map at maximum zoom to see if any area looks like it hasn't been checked... and yet you still can't find that one, last mob who is probably hiding behind a crate somewhere.

    Multi Builds

Mmhmm, though the figure of 10% is, basically, misleading. Doubly misleading, considering the way the percentages are applied.
  23. Ravenswing

    Multi Builds

    Level 53 Damage SO = 38.3% bonus on a level 50 hero.
    Level 50 Damage IO = 42.4% bonus.
    Level 35 Damage IO = 36.7% bonus.
    Level 40 Damage IO = 38.6% bonus.

Level 40 Damage IO, and about 4% absolute difference in bonus, assuming only one IO (since even 2 will be subject to ED scaling).
  24. Ravenswing

    Self Destruction

Probably desirable, but currently it's tecnically impossible. The way it's animated, you're dead as soon as you press the button, you just don't know it yet. You go through an animation which can't be stopped, and then the damage hits.

And I think it was done that way to avoid some of the bugs it had when first produced, so I don't think they'll make it interruptable.

    Rikti raids

*nods* You can target the ships, but trying to shoot at them gives Invalid Target. That would seem to be on purpose.
