It would make more sense to increase the number of merits for these and make a big thing about their bonus, thus meaning people will do them and they can get the data to set merets at their "proper" level.
[/ QUOTE ]
You'd think, but when they eventually get the results and cut the amount of reward in half, NCNC will get told they've "nerfed the TF" or whatever. If they start low and increase it, it gets ignored. Note, they cannot get good publicity by raising the rewards. No game company is allowed to win. -
I don't somehow, feel that you needed to qualify that. "It's not entirely obvious" applies quite well to a great deal of that data.

Ofcause it wouldn't be called Hide. Maybe Stealth as PRAF68 said. Since part of the art of Ninjitsu is being able to go around stealthy/hidden.
[/ QUOTE ]
The point is not that it would not be called Hide, it would not be Hide. Hence, "that translate over without any changes" you mentioned back up in the first post: just not true. Scrapper's don't have a Placate either. Those powers would have to be replaced. Simple as that.
PS. If they did give Scrappers Ninjutsu, I'd be both happy and very irritated, since that's kind of what I wanted for my very first character back when the EU servers launched and there were no villains. -
It does? I've never been able to find that.

The Lady Grey TF is fun though, a small number of fairly epic missions rather than a huge list of very dull ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which, frankly, I feel is how a TF should be. -
If you do get this going, I at least have a toon who can provide special tactics as an outside service. Operative Seven is PPD (with a badge
) and operates out of the King's Row precinct. Wouldn't want to shift her SG thought, sorry.

I quite like Eden, one of the first TFs to get an awsome map.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I was too busy being annoyed at the bugs to enjoy the map. It was a while ago.
[ QUOTE ]
ITF and LGTF are well worth doing for good story, interesting battles and unique maps.
[/ QUOTE ]
ITF I've said I'll do sometime if there's a group going, but we'll see, not that bothered about dressing up as a roman.
LGTF is going to end up being a must-do, purely for RP reasons. My current main has a backstory of hating the Rikti, and I can probably get a nice team together with the promise of some extended RP.

With this merit reward: Who will want to do the Eden trial anyway but the fast way? Will PuGs ever want to just try it?
[/ QUOTE ]
It will be done for fun. Farmers won't bother with it for only 2 merits.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do PuGs ever "try Eden for fun?" I mean, personally I'd rather have teeth pulled than ever go near it again, but when I did, it was a "get a load of friends together for an Eden Trial" kind of thing not "oh, I think I'll form a PuG and do Eden for fun."
[/ QUOTE ]
I've done it in PUGs for fun a couple of times.
Personally, I don't understand why anyone would do something in the game for any reason other than for fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is exactly why I don't do most of the TFs. I quite like Hess, and the witch one in Croatoa. Eden was boring. The one time I tried Posi I gave up beofre the end due to time, but it wasn't exactly thrilling me. T/SF's and Trials seem to be a lot of exactly the same kind of mission you nromally get, strung into a story which quite often makes no sense, and extended to the point where it's irritating. I don't find them fun.
That said, I have yet to try the 'more modern' ones, such as ITF or the RWZ one.
PS. Philosophically, I'm sure you 'understand' why they do it, you just don't 'get' why they bother. -

If this turns out to be true, do we have to worship you?
[/ QUOTE ]
If it turns out to be true, I'll be busy playing I13. I've already decided I'm not buying Wrath yet.
Mind you, I wish to predict that, if it's true, I'll be amazed. Wrath launch is next week and they generally run testing in CoX a little longer than a week and a half. -
I have to admit that most of these heavily themed SGs sound terribly limited, and this one sounds more limited than most. Does every new powerset really need it's own mono-culture SG?
-
I think that the one implication of the new merit system for me is actually that I will not be doing any more arc-related levelling prior to I13.
As with the introduction of Inventions, Safegaurds, and various other things, existing characters are at a disadvantage. Yes, you can go rerun arcs through Oroboros now, but not all of them, and if I complete anything now, I could be missing out on more merits than I have already.
Levelling by running Borea's RWZ missions is fast enough anyway, and actually in character. -
I'd just like to say that I do fear you.
Just probably not for the reason you'd like. -

No need for that now mate, basically APP's/PPP's remain as they are and you will have another one added to choose from at lvl 44.
[/ QUOTE ]
Great!
(But what do APP and PPP stand for? Im guessing they are the power groups, but the only good solution to those acronyms I can come up with are Primary Pow Power and Another Pow Power?
)
[/ QUOTE ]
Ancilliary Power Pool - what heroes get at 41.
Patron Power Pool - what villains get at 41.
Both are, frankly, very stupid names.
Well thought out and perfectly true post, LeighB. As usual. -

I would have assumed that if you complete a story arc as a team then everyone in the team would get a merit(s) in the same way that everyone in the team would get the badge for completing a certain mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would seem rather obvious, yes. Anyone got any evidence it's incorrect? -
Well, all that cloud has its good points and bad points. Expect a high of 17C today with light winds from the north or north east, and around a 20% chance you'll be caught in a shower.
By this evening, the winds will have dropped further and all that adds up to a low of around 10C, though it may be cooler if one of those showers hits you.
Tomorrow: more of the same, but the wind is shifting around to the south, so expect change coming soon. -
I was forgetting, at the time, that the various special badges are a Vet Reward. I have a character who wears a PPD badge on her jacket (cos she's a cop), and that's why I 'dismissed' your suggestion, Hero2. The badge already exists. I doubt they'll make it freely available, when it's already there.

But after looking at the powerset over and over again, it made me think, that a ninja gotta have a [Hide] power and a [Smoke Flash] power to avoid danger.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hide is a specific Stalker ability, they wouldn't transfer it to Scrappers. -
I think it's just generic "whisper whisper" noises, to be honest. Doubt it 'says' anything.
-
Um, what voice? Now I have to go in-game and check... grrr.

Anything above a tac-nuke would be too unsubtle for Malta.
-
It would be quite stupid and OP if you could change powersets. Similarly, if the system could be used to stick all your unwanted powers in a second build, and swap them out to do missions, as Boy_Wonder wants, it would also entirely OP.
This system has been asked for to help promote PvP practically since PvP came out. And now we have it, all we get is people moaning about it not making them into uber-gods. Sheesh. -

To be fair, I don't even play GW and I think I prefer Reyna the Ranger. Sorry Ms L, I have a thing for brunettes...

*Wonders if Birdy's only saying that to keep the missus happy*

Nope, always preferred brunettes. Pretty sure it's Caroline Munro's fault. She used to be in things like 'At The Earth's Core' when I was in my formative teenage years, and she was like buxom and dark haired...
