And if that doesn't work, there's always Ni and the web grenades.
Yes, she will pin him down, beat him soundly, and then dance naked around him singing the "You Need to be More Careful" song.
-
Six and two threes. Yes, his family is there and he misses them and feels responsible. However, he's got Robert in the 'real world' and he also strikes me as one of those people who will kill himself trying to do the right thing by those new people he feels responsible for. Hence Ni's conversation with Di last night.

Well... you did pick one of the few famous characters in the game who actually probably doesn't give a monkey's about the walls, because he doesn't fly...

I know I know mate, was only a bit of fun sorry I got it wrong

Of course, he probably just uses the road system... -
I didn't reply last night, owing to reading in between roleplaying (which I find a terribly offensive habit in others, so I'm a naughty boy).
Nice to see my manufactured students starting to become real. Liked the touch with Dinahmite. Must actually write something of my own with the full set in. -

The Song: Pretty Fly for a White Guy by The Offspring (posting on my phone, I'll find a link in the morning.)

And I think that's the second Rushmore track for the same thing he's not even really guilty of anymore! I'm cruel. -
Sorry, Z.
This just came up on Scuzz, and I couldn't resist.
The Scene: Rushmore, out on the prowl before he worked out how not to be a jerk.
The Song: Pretty Fly for a White Guy by The Offspring (posting on my phone, I'll find a link in the morning.) -
Missed the point slightly, DD. Not looking for themesongs.

So the Chief would be good, War Crow and Jason maybe, but as I'm looking for "influencial heroes", Velvet falls out here, as does Ni.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doubt any of them are, frankly. You want people like Zortel or Shadowe. -
[ QUOTE ]
Water - Mainly for blasters, barrage your foes with mighty blasts of water, similar to the coralax
[/ QUOTE ]
Water powers were the putative powerset of a Coralax Epic AT. It doesn't look like that's going to happen, so maybe one day. Probably one of the most suggested new sets (aside from guns for Scrappers
). Good idea to read the 'frequently suggested' sticky in the forum.
[ QUOTE ]
Burrowing - instead of jumping or flying, why not tunnel!
[/ QUOTE ]
Also suggested before, it's probably un-doable with the current engine, and also probably not half as nice an idea as it sounds.
[ QUOTE ]
Streching - punch those villains from meters away with rubber arms and legs, even form a massive hammer or wall from your bouncy body!
[/ QUOTE ]
Suggested this week! And probably not viable.
[ QUOTE ]
Shapshifting - you can control your form. Turn from massive behemoth, to agile wolf if you need a get awy faster!
[/ QUOTE ]
Suggested once a month. Again, see frequently suggested. Again, probably not as cool as it sounds. Also, kind of reserved for the kheldians.
[ QUOTE ]
Earth MM - you have a strong connection with the earth, and can summon earth based minions, such as rock elementals, magma lords and quartz.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure about your choice of minions, but a good idea, IMO.
[ QUOTE ]
Since the rogue islands is mostly water, allow Lusca to pop up every now and then, to wage war with the villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think she's kind of stuck in the port, plus GMs are currently not something people can be bothered with. Too much risk for the reward.
[ QUOTE ]
Make more of the Skulls, Outcasts, Trolls and Hellions by setting them against each other in massive gang riots.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've had enough of events like the zombies and Rikti raids, but it would be interesting to see this happen somewhere like Perez Park or the Hollows.
[ QUOTE ]
Use logged off characters as random villains or heroes in safeguard and mayhem missions!
[/ QUOTE ]
Also suggested this week. Unfortunately, the current AI is unable to handle some types of powerset without enormous, character specific tweaking which makes generic use of logged off hero/villains a no-go.
Personally, when my characters haven't got me running them, I'd rather they weren't getting pumelled into the floor by some guy doing bog-standard PvE missions, so I'd vote no on this anyway. -
[ QUOTE ]
Admittedly the name doesnt change but...well, thats part of roleplay. Unless you encounter tools, of course...
[/ QUOTE ]
Or just perfectly good roleplayers who aren't paying as much attention as they might. We end up creating level 1 alts with the correct civilian name.
However, that will become infinitel easier once I13 is out, so the only remaining problem is that having a level 1 alt near GG if there's a zombie or Rikti raid is a bad idea. -

Fixed that link up for you. you left quote marks in.

Yes, I noticed. I need to reboot my PC, something's glitched. -
I have been trying so hard to come up with something to go with this tune and I finally came up with something.
The Scene: Columbia is doing the rounds, kicking bottom and taking names, but where ever she goes, people seem to be singing and periodically, Ni and Libby pop up out of nowehere and do a much better job of wasting the baddies than she does (for the choruses).
The Song: Fake It by Seether. (Which is a great video, well funny, if you haven't seen it.) -
I'd need to know more about what you have planned, I guess, but these ones may be useful, depending on what you want.
War Crow
-level 50 Scrapper
Was a very well respected hero, and remains reasonably well know. He's also now running an international courier business, so he counts somewhat in the business community. Well known as an authority on magic too.
Velvet Vengeance/Anastasia Kade
- level 11 Scrapper
Despite being an ex-Playboy model and a member of The Pits, Anastasia does some pretty heavy work on the Fund Raiser circuit and is reasonably well known to a fair few city officials, charities, and corporate junket goers. Her hero identity is actually far less well known than her normal one.
Nitoichi
- level 47 Scrapper
Tends to be fairly quiet and not so well known except in two areas. She's pretty famous among the geeky hero fans, especially the Galaxy City ones, due to her job at the Wizard's Well. The signing day she did there pushed her into the notice of various persons she doesn't entirely know exist yet. And Vanguard think she's awesome because she puts in masses of time there running 'errands' for Borea.
Jason Caine
- level 37 Scrapper
Fairly influential in various sections of the academic community.
So, depends what kind of influence you want. -
The Sims MMO is that way. ->
Second Life is down there, by the dumpster.
Having an alter ego you could swap to is something us Roleplayers have wanted for a while, but systematising it to the extent you're after would eliminate the flexibility that we want. (So, actually, your idea is more likely to be implemented than just a straight character model change or similar. Developers hate roleplayers.) -
The Scene: Sam and Steve, in their flat, in the front room. Steve singing, sat in a chair, watching Samantha trying to decide what to wear for a night out. She keeps popping in and out of the bedroom, dressed in more and more outrageous outfits.
The Song: Hot Sauce by Thomas Dolby.
"Hot sauce/She's hot and spicy/But twice as nicey/Although she burns me up."
---
Edit to add this. I gotta.
The Scene: Polyhymnia Brown, my Girl Genius semi-crazy scientist (who I have to bring to GG to meet Richard) is first in the queue outside a new shop that's just opened in Steel Canyon.
The Song: The Hardware Store by Weird Al Ynakovic
---
And a melancholy one.
The Scene: Jason Caine sits alone in his flat in Salamanca, a forgotten scotch in his hand, wondering about his ultimate future.
The Song: The Islander by Nightwish.
PS. It's a beautiful song and a great video, I recommend watching it even if you don't like the melancholy use I've put it to. -

and something for Anastasia...
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I'm being a bit on an idiot. This one's obvious.
The Scene: Unity Tower cafeteria, and Jessica Kade is happily hugging her spoons, patting the cooker, and producing all kinds of fantastic food for the assembled Vigilites. Our camera scans over to a table full of New Vigilants, mostly boys, and their view as Anastasia walks in to go chat to her daughter.
The Song: the slightly rewritten Stacey's Mom by Fountains of Wayne, now titled Jessie's Mom. -
Linkin Park. I think Linkin Park are great. Their last album had more than two songs I like listening to. That's almost unheard of for me.
So, a few Linkin Park ones, if I can think of more than this first one.
The Scene: Richard starts awake in bed beside Cassandra.
The Song: Leave Out All The Rest.
I cannot help but feel that one day Richard may regret some of his choices.
--
The Scene: A bar in the Rogue Isles, with Ni and Libby in their Bambi-esque 'disguise' outfits. A brawl starts.
The Song: Bleed It Out
And Ni will be making sure they do...
---
And not Linkin Park, but, hey ho.
The Scene: Annette's room at the Towers where she has just had a pole dancing pole fitted, and Libby has come to visit.
The Song: Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls
Obviously, for the late-night, after-watershed version of the show.
Hmm... I need a duet for Ni and Annette, and something for Anastasia... -

Okay, I can't find a link, but every time I think of Richard, I get ZZ Top, Sharp Dressed Man - can someone link me, please?

Your wish... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fW_QCRGvT-g
I'm thinking that would be Richard getting up and dressed of a morning, with lots of preening in a full-length mirror. One of Helena's avatars (or Cass) would be waiting at the mansion door to pop a fresh carnation in his button hole on the way out. -
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9KEZsL2mZNo, for reference. You could always use the light rail...

I've got the perfect one for Sam.
Daydreaming in the hot tub - It's Raining Men, the Weather Girls
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to 'one up' this ever so slightly with an alternative version:
The Scene: Galaxy Girl Plaza during a Rikti raid.
The Cast: The entire GG female combat squad.
I'll get my coat... -
[ QUOTE ]
Infinitron would likely do 'My Friend(s)' from Sweeney Todd but with his rifle in lue of the razors of course.
[/ QUOTE ]
For those who don't know it, I didn't, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mhlE3bb6At4
Nice one.
-
Have to do this one.
The Scene: A Malta base in the RWZ. Nitoichi is charging through the place demolishing anything in her path without a care, charging into heavy weapons fire, cutting down troops like corn.
The Song: Indestructible by Disturbed.
I keep wanting to do this, or something similar, as a story, actually. Perhaps when she hits 50. -
Okay, so slight variation on the 'what would be your character's theme song' idea.
One of the best remembered episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Once More With Feeling, an episode where a demon turned up and set the entire town to singing and dancing. It featured a number of set piece musical numbers by the cast members to continue the story, or just provide character illumination.
So, let's say the Circle of Thorns cast a spell over Paragon City resulting in our characters suddenly bursting into song for no apparent reason. What would be the scene, and what would be the song?
As an example, and the tune that made me think of this idea, here's one for Shadowe.
The scene: Andrew Martin, Psychonova, has captured Shadowe and is considering what he should do from there.
The song: I Can't Decide by the Scissor Sisters, as successfully employed in a well known Doctor Who episode.
I can't help but feel that Psychonova was slightly influenced by The Master, and the idea of having him bouncing around a powerless Shadowe singing this is just made of win. Cassandra, Nitoichi and Liberty Girl in maid's outfits and power suppressors would just complete the picture.
And then this came on the playlist...
The scene: Huntington Manor's conservatory.
The cast: Nitoichi and Richard.
The song: Kids - Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue.
It's the last bit, in the hot tub...
Oh, and finally, there's somekind of heart-wrenching angst ridden thing involving Liberty Girl and Ni and Hero by Chad Kruger, but it seriously doesn't fit with the current roleplay. It plays on Annette/Ni's fear that she isn't a real hero, but Libby is: "It isn't the love of a hero/And that's why I fear it won't do."
