Tokyo: making corsets is less of a dying art than you'd think. There's a fair market for them in LARP circles, and you can dig up a few people who do it at most events.

The cultural references made me wince. The Goths I know would probably go on a killing spree if they were linked with the majority of that. Of course, in the UK, we have something of a different view of Goth and Punk cultures.

Vigilantes can do Villain missions by teaming with Villains. It's kind of like they have perma-coop capability. As of heroCon, they wouldn't be able to get red-side contacts, so they wouldn't be able to get missions themselves.

I don't know if it's written down anywhere, but I specifically remember it being said that they were planning some form of reward for those who stuck with their original side. They either didn't know what those would be in October, or weren't saying, and I've not seen anything stating what would happen since.

I'm sorry, but that's an assertion with absolutely no facts to back it up. Game are just about to the point where they are dropping PC games entirely. I have to struggle to find them in supermarkets (who wouldn't stock CoH anyway) or HMV. My local Morrisons only stocks PC games in the £1 buckets.

I don't honestly know how much anyone putting a box on a shelf can expect to sell these days in the EU, but I suspect that, without a large amount of advertising (look at WoW, AvP, Bioshock) you aren't going to get more than a random few new subscribers from walk-in sales. An MMO isn't like a single-player game; you have to put forward a long-term commitment of cash to play it. Impulse buys are likely less important.

I can't prove that. You can't prove that walk-in sales of boxes in shops is going to amount to even a small amount of new players on the servers.

Well, you balance me out then. I've never gone to a game shop to look for a random game. I have, however, gone browsing through Steam to see whether they had anything I fancied. (They didn't.)

With a boxed set, the chances of an influx of new players is very low. As suggested above, the only way to get volumes of new players in is going to be an advertising campaign, probably on TV.

Now, we haven't heard what the plan for advertising, or seen what they do. I'd say TV adverts have about the same chance as Satan discovering three-feet of snow on his doorstep, but if we don't get any form of advertising aside from online stuff, then I think you lot can start whining again.
