  1. IMHO, You're playing them wrong.

Mob groups shouldn't be massively larger for two than for one and I can solo missions effectively as a Stalker, at least in the early stages, but that sounds like all you've done.

Actually, I think a team of Stalkers is only much use in PvP. They need other kinds of support in PvE. A duo of Stalkers wouldn't be good, but it shouldn't be as bad as you're making out.
  2. You're right, Wordy... we'll go with Miss Ellie turning orange and hairy.

    Sorry? What was that FFM?
  3. She'd be one of those scary ones with fangs. We could do something really terrible, like a responsible adult!
  4. I thought we'd decided to turn Minako into an Orang as a Service to Mankind?
  5. Levelling a Stalker...

    1. Start at level 1.
    2. Do Breakout.
    3. Hit things until you reach level 40.
    4. Wait for Cryptic to implement the 40-50 band.

    Am I missing something?
  6. Aisla wasn't actually replying directly to Samy, Wordy, and she's deleted it now anyway since her short time and blood-addled brain* made for a non-useful post.

*Most people have drink or coffee-addled brains, but for the true caffeine addict, the problem is having too much blood pumping up there.
  7. Actually, the change in Nevermore's outward face does present some interesting issues. have to think about that one, Wordy.

Mind you, what Sammy said is true, but if there are continuity issues, please come to us for help if you feel you need it. Some people already have.

Also, I'd like to apologise again for striking the wrong tone with the initial post. This was not meant to be a done deal. My reason for posting originally was to get people to discuss it and point up problems, especially 'no gos'. I probably didn't make that clear enough. Sorry.

    And everyone's used to that.
  9. Well, technically, the whole of reality pauses for a tick, and then it's different. However, since you wouldn't remember it being different, you wouldn't know it was... um, so technically there would be no visual queue.

Those with supernatural senses would notice a 'blip', but as Max pointed out, there will probably be a number of those around that time; Paragon City is good for blips.

Those with some connection to Time would also notice a blip as everything pauses for a microsecond. (Might have more to say about that later.)
  10. I've sent a PM regarding the above post.

    Moment of Glory

MoG is a death trap in PvE, with limited tactical use. The timer on it is way too long and, of course, there's only unofficial ways of telling when it's going to timeout. In PvP, I'd imagine if you aren't dead before it times out, you will be immediately after.

Look at Paragon Protectors. Now that ED is in, just about everyone must be slotting enough acc encs to punch through it when they use it. A hero or villain might slot it for +DEF, but that just means you pop some yellows. I think you can get somewhere up around 150% Def, but I have 150% accuracy, so I'm back to hitting you 50% of the time, and you have no hit points.
  12. Maybe I should explain this better.

We are not setting the entire world back to April.

What we are effectively doing is changing what happened in April, and then projecting that forward to what would the world be like now if those changes were made.

If you want Volt to be under Council mind control, then please feel free, but if he isn't under said mind control now then there's no reason why he should suddenly start saluting when an Adjutant walks past on January 1st.
  13. Okay, it's been pointed out that I have been overly direct in my statements concerning what can be done about this retcon. I guess I'll have to be more direct in explaining my enthusiasm.

    Okay:

"No one remembers anything" This is an entirely OOC thing. I was, originally, going to have War Crow remember since (I think obviously) he's the one that initiates it. Unfortunately, that leaves plenty of potential angst. I hadn't thought of it myself, Stef pointed it out to me. The object of the exercise is to remove angst, not create it. So, no one remembers, no one can remind anyone of what happened, no one can come to the conclusion that Crow did it and re-inject the angst. That's the reason, plain and simple.

I'm not even asking that anyone believes Crow is capable of doing that. Something else will finish what he started, something which I am asking people to believe could do it, but which is far easier to believe in the setting.

"No one can find out anything" Same reason, but I shouldn't have said it. I was just being too honest. I did not mean to indicate that no one should try, I was just being honest in saying they will not find anything. I should have let people do the searching and just let them get nowhere. My mistake.

If anyone has any problems with any of this, I'd be grateful if they would contact me directly, either by posting here, or PMing me. I'm happy to discuss this.
  14. Yes, the entire world, indeed the entire universe, is being adjusted to fit the desires of one person.

No one will be left wondering what it was they missed, there's nothing to miss.

Regarding the example: perhaps Eric didn't invest in Drake Enterprises, perhaps he had another reason to, such as some announcement of a technological breakthrough by the company. Pick whichever makes you happiest.

The object of the enterprise is, believe it or not, to make people happy. All sources of angst must be removed before execution. That's why no one remembers anything.

Hmmm... remove all angst. Maybe we should be turning Minako into an Orangutan?
  15. The Salmarien plot didn't happen. Exact details of what happened to the old duffer to be decided later.

Jason's springy, and still thinks of Liz as his "beloved"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, you missed the Orbis mission... Jason's answer to 50-foot giant zombie monster: vault onto its neck and hit it in the head.

As for kind of jumping off to save Liz from potential impending doom... well, Memory had the patchwork girl a bit scared, and Big Bad Bill was doing something with red glowy effects. That's not good.

Was fun. Jason got to hit things. Everyone's happy. Except, maybe, the zombies.
  17. Assume Liz and Jason look like this:

    Strength: Great
    Agility: Great
    Stamina: Superb
    Perception: Good
    Mind: Good
    Willpower: Great

She is Superb with a katana, he has Great Martial Arts, but can also add dark energy damage to his blows.

They are both magicians, he specialises in necromancy, she's better in demonology.

And you can assume he knows everything and she knows almost everything.
  18. Clearly, you haven't been around GG much.

Time paradoxes, dimensional twins, temporal twins, all are banned for the simple reason that we've had so many of the damn things it got boring.

    No time paradox. No.
  19. Ahem... at midnight on New Year's Eve, a young man by the name of Dafydd Cerwys is going to find something he's been looking for. Namely, War Crow's sword. This will result in something really drastic happening in more or less no time at all and so, the new year is going to sudden;y look a bit different from the old one.

Essentially, a group of us are engaged in a large scale, in character retcon of several of our older characters who, for various reasons, have become more or less useless for roleplay. There will be some fiction explaining the IC side of it. This thread is to cover the more OOC side, i.e. what everyone else can expect to know about what's happened.

The main characters affected are as follows:

War Crow (currently wandering around as Dafydd Cerwys).
Stargazer (currently pregnant and out of play).
Nevermore (who Wordy doesn't bring out much).
    Areulder (Dafydd's girlfriend).

Most people don't really know them, or much of the history behind them since they don't get played much these days and they originated back in the dawns of time. (February-April )

Essentially, we will be resetting them back to their original state, tweaking a few things, then advancing them forward to now. Stargazer will return to being War Crow's girlfriend and will be free of the influence of her father, Areulder will have been married to a nice Welsh farmer (we ain't letting anyone be unhappy ), War Crow will be back to being the genial Welsh swordsman he used to be, but will have no delusions about being the priest of the Morrigan, Nevermore... that's for Wordy to expound.

Now, this is important, no one will know that anything has changed. No excuses, no "but my character exists outside space and time", no "my ultimate cosmic power means I'm immune." Absolutely no one will have any idea that the world on January 1st is different from what it was on December 31st. Those sensitive to magic will sense that something happened at midnight. Those sensitive to temporal events might detect a discontinuity. These events will appear and vanish in the flick of an eye, will be untraceable, and leave no apparent effects. If you want to investigate them, do, but you'll find nothing. (Yes, that sounds a lot like god-modding, and it is, for very good reason.)

I figure most of you will be able to rationalise out the changes to things that have happened to your characters. As an example, Quantum Seraphim had an interesting chat with Dafydd one night. She will remember having it with War Crow, who looks exactly the same, so it shouldn't be an issue. If there's anything difficult, or anything you'd like to discuss, please contact the player the character belongs to via PM or in-game.

I'll be expanding this thread to discuss more details of the new versions of the individual characters over the next week.

Lastly, if anyone needs a retcon doing and we can even vaguely possibly fit you in, please feel free to contact me via PM to discuss it.

And everyone should remember that, after midnight December 31st, Miss Ellie will be known as Oook.

    Moving On

Do I actually need to add some comment about constructive criticism being happily received?

    Stalkers in PvP

If repel works on the Stalker, they won't be able to use AS. If they move or take damage after they launch the attack, the AS is interrupted. So, if they were constantly being repelled away from you, they'd be stuffed and have to resort to a normal attack.
