This really does need putting into Jay's costume thread. The technology for this already exists, so these are really suggestions on similar things which could be added. Get them in there, you may get lucky.
-
To clarify PRAF's comment, yes, it has been suggested before. Many times.

Scrappers were always designed as the high-soloability AT (fairly wacky in a game designed by someone who didn't believe in soloing, but the world's a funny place). That requires them to have good offense and good defense, but not exceptional versions of either. So, Scappers are always going to be less than perfect additions to teams featuring a perfect profile.
However, obsolete? I don't think so. Aside from anything else, for people who like soloing (like me), Scrapper is still a good choice. -
Chemical analysis of the food and other samples taken from the flat is notified to Arrow Azure this afternoon.
Both foodstuffs and water showed no signs of contamination.
The grey corrosion on the pipes, however, contains more large fragments of an organic molecule. The pathologist suggests that the compound may be some derivative of ergotamine, but there are elements which do not fit any of the known variants. How the substance got into the corrosion stains is unknown, but it presumably leaked into it along with the water that was leaked onto the floor.
(( Any questions or actions, let me know. ))
(( PS. While I remember, Seven said she was based in the Steel Canyon precinct building recently. Clearly she meant the King's Row on, like it says in the story-lette on page 1 of this thread.))

Hmmm... my original conception for War Crow (Kat/Reg Scrapper) was far more along the line of a Stalker. Stealth in, rescue the hostage or surgically take out the lead villain. Very much in the Batman school of villain stopping. There's nothing to stop a Stalker being a hero.

I'd be more concerned that subscription dues on NCSoft games went up, but that they are cutting back development staff in their Austion office personally.
-
Focussed Accuracy for the win. I love it when they go Elude or MoG and I just keep cutting them up.
That said, they should have their powers changed, they are supposed to be basically the same as heroes. -
Seems more in-keeping for Malta to swing in in a black helicopter and drop an assault team to hit a specific hero or party of heroes.
Imagine if, after you come across them and defeat them once or twice, you suddenly start seeing Malta attack squads popping up in random outdoor mission maps. Sweeping in and attacking without warning in an attempt to eliminate a dangerous threat to their secrecy. -

we wont know. but it does seem to be nerfing season now.

If you ignore all the buffs, yes.

There are no buffs, only Zuul. -

AI changes are ideal but I feel a tad unrealistic with what we've come to expect from content updates.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hell yes, not expecting it to happen, but the question wasn't "what do you expect to happen to make AVs more interesting?"
If AV/GMs are given scripted powers of somekind and the rewards are increased to the point where they're worth it, they will be learned and farmed. Then they aren't interesting anymore. -
Wow, the Col agrees with everything I wrote. I must be right about a subject I've only ever read about.
-
I'm not a big fan of 'scripted' encounters, and they don't make anything more challenging, apart from the first few tries where people work out how to do something. Once that's out of the way, it just returns to being grind and having a Raid Leader figure on Ventrilo yelling commands at the goons in the funny suits. (Ever seen the South Park World of Warcraft episode? "Alright, Stan will activate Shadow Form and at that point I will Shield Wall..." or words to that effect.) Monsters have a script, players have a script, not actually challenging.
If you want to make things more challenging you need to beef up the AIs of the mobs to use more variance, pick on soft targets, fire powers at good times, not just when they recharge... Trouble is, if that actually happened, a significant number of people would stop doing TFs and such because they would be close to impossible. Somehow, you would actually need to devise an in-game rationale for how come all the mobs suddenly got downgraded powers, and grew more than one brain cell. -
At some point during the day, all the investigators will be contacted in whatever way is available by Seven with the following information.
she has managed to recover sufficient of the deleted data files from Johnovich's PC to be able to determine what they were there for.
There was a keylogger, which could also monitor any IP phone connections and general Internet traffic. She was able to determine an address to which the data was being sent, but the account owning that address was shut down just after Johnovich died. It did lead to a flat in the block opposite Johnovich's building, but that had also been cleared out recently.
The second bit of software was a bit more mysterious and looked like it had wedged itself into the graphics driver of the machine. From what Seven was able to determine, the software was able to drop messages into the video feed, lasting no more than a single vertical scan update. Effectively, it was subliminal message technology.
The final file had been a wedge into the PC's software update systems designed to stop the other files from being discovered or removed.
Chemical analysis results should come in tomorrow. -
I recall something about exemping which should have clued me in. Thanks, that's answered the question.
-
No, nothing. The price structure is similar to that of other games. Good value, but similar. If it were to cost more, I doubt I could justify it to myself.

I also think that a jetpack instead of the rocket launcher to fight the zepplins would be just a better balance. Otherwise 20-30 people could go get them and just blast the cack out of the zepps.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty sure that the only reason rockets were suggested is that Pointless has a rocket fixation at the moment.
Problem with the jetpack, assuming you can't land on the zeppelin, is that melee characters are going to be about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Personally, I think if they did this I'd just give up on the game until they stopped. Another heaving great invasion? It's stretching credibility to the point where I can't see why anyone would bother living in the city. It's certainly stretching the credibility of there being any intact buildings in the city.
And I like the way the 5th Column is at the moment. Yeah, they are likely to emerge as a stronger force in the future, but personally I'd prefer it if it was more of a hidden, Shadow War style thing than war zeppelins over Galaxy City. -
...and about the only thing they are going to bother with is a new product.

Once again:
This is not about pvp or not pvp in pvp zones. PLEASE return to the topic people:
What do you consider such a bad behaviour even in a pvp zone that it's worth petitioning?
[/ QUOTE ]
That was answered, by PvPers and non-PvPers alike, in the first page. As has been stated, some non-PvPers consider being attacked in a PvP Zone to be abuse. A subset of those are ranting about it. It hasn't exactly got to do with PvP vs non-PvP, since I'm not a PvPer and do not consider that to be abuse. -

Everything is always nerfed, even the buffs come with nerfs to other powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
CB, I honestly thought you were better than that. That logic is so downright weak I can see it fading away as I look at it.
You just specifically said that somethings got buffed. If they got buffed, then they can't have been nerfed. If something else gets nerfed at the same time, that does not eliminate the fact that something got buffed. -
[ QUOTE ]
and thanks to cactus for putting it in to perspective for me
[/ QUOTE ]
But he chose to 'put it in perspective' by pandering to your belief that everything is always nerfed. This reinforces your self worth, so of course you think it's great.
You initial assumption is wrong, hence the rest of your post is invalid. -
Mendacity Factor.
No idea what AT or set, but I just thought of it and I think it sounds cool. -
try not responding fast enough in an escourt mission. They tend to pile up a bit then. Depends on how many ambushes you were supposed to get on the way out.
They already run away. What's lacking is the insentive to chase them down since they don't go get help (as happens in WoW, for example). Running after them is going to get you mobbed, if you stand still they'll eventually come back.
Yes, I'd agree that would be a good addition to the mob tactics. -
[ QUOTE ]
You go in there, you're gonna get attacked.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have to disagree. I rarely get attacked in PvP zones. By other players anyway. When I die in RV it's because I've taken X pillboxes and two signature villains come out of the woodwork and turn me into a smear on the tarmac. -
Hmm...
An AR blaster or an MM with pistols called "Beats Four Aces". -

Caps Intended.
[/ QUOTE ]
All of them, cos there's a lot of superflous caps in the preceeding text.
Your post is known as 'trolling' and I hope no one will grace it with a serious reply.
