There was something missing from the picture Impish posted, the side of bacon she'd also ordered. So yes, there ended up being bacon as the crown to the meal as well as layered in the middle.

They're making a global change to the way ALL Procs work. Well, most procs.

I also assumed night vision as well, for the reason you mentioned.

  6. And I will probably never get my 5 year badge that was due in December, much less my 6th, 7th, etc.
  7. It's always interesting to see people take a different approach to creating a build. My personal preference would still include Heightened Senses and Weave, as I like the added mitigation that the defenses get me. It will be interesting to see what changes your survivability will have with the addition of +res set bonuses in i24, should you choose to leverage them very far.

In the meantime, you don't sound like the character is under performing according to your expectations, and it also sounds like you're having fun. Keep having fun.
  8. According to the City Info Tracker website there are approx 1461 badges. I'm not sure how many badges any one toon can earn, but I don't believe it's all 1461. The badge leader board there (of people who've signed up, not every player in game) shows the top badger with 1399 badges.

You can see how they're broken down by type here: http://cit.cohtitan.com/badges/

And more badge information through the Paragonwiki site here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Badges
  9. I think even with a "slightly" reduced from standard accuracy and, as you said, a non-extreme endurance cost it would go a long way towards making CoF used more often.
  10. I pretty much agree with what Werner said. I always use OG while leveling my toons as it mitigates the damage enough for me, and the mob wandering doesn't bother me. I haven't been able to convince myself to use CoF, as the poor Accuracy and End cost always drives me away from it. One of these days I'll shoe horn it in to one of my dark toons.

First, though. I don't find any Emp power totally unskippable, but if I had to pick one, it'd be Fort.

But, even a Fortless emp, well played, will be a huge asset to his team... So I have no *you must take X expectations*.

But, I am a bit surprised at your logic, Rangle. It's like telling a Rad/ def to skip their heal, since if you're using RI well, you won't get hit. Or telling every melee type to skip their t9 or their self rez, since, well, you won't need it if things go well. Just because you won't always need it, doesn't mean that things never go against the odds, or against you. Having a nice, or even excellent fall back choice isn't ever a bad plan. It's only bad if you skipped something better to get it.. And 'better' here is very much open to debate.

    With respect,

    Maddie
Uhm... I'm confused. You say you don't often agree with me, then you go off to disagree in your statement? Seems rather contradictory.

I think you're think you're taking the analogy too far. (Absorb Pain isn't a t9 power to begin with.) In some cases I won't take my t9 power. I won't take unstoppable on my soft capped Inv tanks. I don't have the self rez on my fire tank. I do have my t9 on my Nrg/ice blaster, etc. (I'm still trying to decide WHY I took Force Bubble along with Repulsion Field on my FF.) All varying choices, and somethings won't get shoehorned into my planned builds. But that's neither here, nor there.

Don't get me wrong, Absorb pain is a great heal in it's own way. On my Emp defender I find the idea of, well, self mutilation to heal someone else unappealing in a subconscious way. I don't mind the minor tics of damage I get when running Oppressive Gloom on my Time/DP, or even my Dark Tanks. I'll even jump headlong into a mob to try and heal/help someone even if it might kill me, but I just can't convince myself to take Absorb. So, there you go.

You'll want Targeting drone AND the Kismet Unique. Testing on Beta required the additional use of the Kismet to get my Ar/Dev there.
  13. You can do a touch of both. If you look at the second build I focused on getting s/l defense set bonuses, then added a healing HO in there as well. Again, it's up to you.

Not in the least. I have yet to convince myself that Absorb Pain is worth while taking on my Emp. If you're applying the buffs and the team is playing smart, you should rarely have to heal anyway, much less use AP.

You passed up the ability to have a self-heal as part of your attack chain? Big mistake, in my opinion. My dark/dark and my invuln/dark both have Siphon Life six-slotted. (And Rangle has it five-slotted.)
Yeah. I noticed that too, and then promptly forgot to mention it.
  16. Welcome back to the wonderful world of Dark Armor. Although they're a bit older, I suggest you look at Jebe the Pirate's guide to dark tanks, there's still some good information in there. Additionally, find any post by Dechs Kaison and get the link to his Dark Armor guides as well.

Taking a quick glance at your build. First off all, you're chasing after a lot of positional set bonuses, which for me, isn't a preferred approach. Most Positional bonuses are found in the 5-6 enhancement slotting, where as most typed bonuses can be found in the 3-4 enhancement slotting. So you can typically get better set bonuses with less slots if you focus on Typed Defenses. With that in mind I focus on S/L defense first, then E/N and if I can, shore up F/C defenses.

Dark Regeneration is the perfect spot for the Theft of Essence:Chance for +endurance proc. Drop one in there and you'll love it. Anytime you use Dark Regen, you'll have a chance to regain some of the endurance you've used. It procs often enough when you use it, not only will it refill your health, it will sometimes refill your endurance bar.

I also find Oppressive Gloom to be a one slot wonder. So I'd spread those slots around elsewhere. I prefer 4 slotting Reactive Armor(Res, Res/Rech, Res/End, Res/Rech/End) in the armors for the +e/n and +s/l defense bonuses. So those would go in Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud, Obsidian Shield and Tough. I'd add two additional slots to Dark Embrace, where I'd add in the Steadfast unique and a -kb enhancement. Doing that little bit alone will put your s/l defenses at nearly 30%. (if you include 3 -4kb enhancements to your build, you won't need Acrobatics)

While I don't mind Obliteration in Soul Drain, it has very little End redux in it, and is a poor fit for Death Shroud. Where I can, I'll 3 slot Eradication in AoE attacks for the E/N defense bonuses.

Anyway, I'm being horribly long winded. Let me show you two different versions of my dark tank build. The first is S/L defense capped, the second is one I need to test out, but is one I'm considering going for. It's S/L/E/N capped, and should be endurance sustainable in long fights. (That's what I need to test to make sure.. )

Additionally there are 4 accolades that you'll want to grab. They give you permanent +hp and +end. The should be selected in the Mids build.

    This I agree with, wholeheartedly.

They're not really there. It's just a mental image in your head making you think they are.

Either be fair to everyone or dont do it at all I prefer or else I'm not just go "Oh thanks for going out your way to be nit picky and point out my mistakes while ignoring everyone else's. Thank u thank u thank u." No I'm not that one. I'm call it like I see it. You picking me out, being slightly rude grammazr nazi and I will respond accordingly. If that wasnt your intentions, then try to put it in a better way next time. And sorry for jumping down ya throat if that was not your true intentions. But online intentions are hard to read sometimes so I see lettering and what I get from those arrangement of letters.
    Chuckle.

    Obviously you know everything.

You've taken a mild comment and run with it like a petulant preteen child. My comment was the equivalent of "watch your step, there's traffic coming", Your response was "I'm calling the cops because you're harassing me!"

    Have fun in your world.

    Ciao.
  20. I would like to point out one more thing. What I've mentioned in my original post is a far, far, far cry from being a grammar nazi. It maybe in your mind that I am, but I've met many of them. Believe me, I don't count as one in the least. While you believe that I was one, or was being one, then you're in for a very, very rude awakening when you finally meet one.

Well then sorry to break it to you, you aint god. I've seen your posts and most of them contain mistakes. I dont go around nit pickign atr it but you have the audacity to come to my post and nitpick spelling. That's not elitist. I guess it was wrong word on my part. that is a hypocrite. Plain hypocrite.
Never claimed to be perfect. In fact, if you read my original reply I mentioned that I have to chase after my own bad spelling. I'll never catch them all, even though I try. I have plenty of issues with my own grammar, which is why I was trying to be helpful. You were presenting something that wasn't easy to read.

Should someone find spelling or punctuation errors and point them out to me, I'd fix them. Plenty of people have done so in the past. I always cringe when I find them on my own. I've also gone back and added addition posts in attempts to clarify my ideas better. What I've written doesn't always translate from my thoughts to the page.

If you find issues, or lack of clarity with any of the thing I've posted, please let me know. Maybe with your diligence I'll fix them all.

Well, if nothing else, she's throwing a great temper tantrum.

    Oh, wait? Was that elitist?

    Damn...

  25. I was trying to be helpful to the OP with my first response. See where that got me.

I do think it's telling that the OP has spent more time and effort getting into peoples faces, or telling them to buzz off, then it would have taken them to edit the original post. C'est la vie.
