    SD/SS oddness

    My SD/SS tank is currently lvl 34 and I've noticed a few things that have been, well at least to me, odd. I don't have screen shots of this stuff yet. I'll grab some when I can and post them.

    First of all, I'm not seeing the damage done by shield charge in the combat logs. The logs show that I'm activating it, but nothing about any of the damage. Which is one of the first things I thought was odd.

    The reason I was even looking at the combat logs has to do with Rage. I'm currently set so that I've got perma rage going. The overlap is just a couple of seconds, but it's enough. After having activated the second rage, when the first rage times out my damage boost is floored. No endurance loss, but definitely a huge -dmg effect. Now my understanding from what I've read here is that I shouldn't be seeing this -dmg effect while the second rage has been toggled. Correct me if this is working as intended.

    Finally (and I need to get screen shots of this next time I level) the recharge numbers on rage keep shifting on me after I lvl up. I've got 3 recharge SO's in Rage currently. None of them had gone red after I leveled last time, but according to the in game power details the Rage recharge had dropped from 2m1s to 2m5s. I thought it was odd that it changed considering none of the SO's went red. Should the recharge be changing like that?

  4. I suppose he might be grabbing acrobatics for a little bit of -hold as well as the -kb from acrobatics. But I agree, tough helps, but tough and weave makes a huge difference in survivability compared to acrobatics.
  5. I was playing around with a new build on my lvl 50 fire/fire tank the other day on the test server. I'd originally leveled him without tough/weave and wanted to see how much of a difference having one or both active. (Basically trying to decide what I wanted to do with him on live: go with just tough, or go tough/weave.)

    He's got some IO bonus' but he's certainly not IO'd to the hilt. Most of those were done before I ran across Mids or spent time reading the forums. Running just tough he managed much better then without, but adding in weave made an even bigger difference; as was expected. Now I just need to figure out how to fit them into a build I'm happy with.

    Adding in weave will make a difference as had been mentioned. Do you need it? No. Does it help? Yes. YMMV

    Making A Tanker

    After having been playing a nrg/ice blaster into the mid 30's, I wanted something less squishy and thought it would be interesting to try out the tank armor set. I have a tattoo on my arm of a little devil along with the Japanese symbols for "Ko Oni" which is little devil roughly translated into Japanese. So I used that name as a starting point.

    So from there, Ko Oni II was created. Since he is a little devil, fire/fire only seemed appropriate. Since he was to be a hero, he became the "White Sheep" of the family doing his best not to win his parents approval of what he did to help others. Ko Oni II was my first tank to 50. I now have 6 other tanks in the works anywhere from lvl 7-50.

    Looks like things are back to normal for the raves on Justice. Probably morning maintenance fixed it.
  9. It would be nice if there was going to some better customization, even if it was limited to scaling to character size in Granite. I'm hoping, but certainly not holding my breath.
  10. You may be quite correct that it may only be a Server reset. I'd checked Skyway again before going on a Kahn TF and the "rave" was still going on in the west location. Came out of the Kahn and it was still going on, same location. 21+ minutes later, still going on, same location. Justice Server.
  11. Having gotten the badge on several toons as well, I'm aware of the mechanics. I've also gotten a response from NCSoft noting that there is a bug report on this now, so something is wonky with the raves. As a little more of a follow up, I've been sitting in Skyway on the Justice server for quite a bit (well over 10 mins), long enough for it to become daylight and the rave is still going on. It may just be that the timer has some how gotten "stuck". On top of that, it's the same spot I noticed earlier in the day when I logged on several times during the day.
  12. Not sure if it's been mentioned here or not, but it seems the Troll Rave is broken. Been to the location twice and the police are there making a stand but no Ravers and no Suppa Trolls. A friend of mine had wanted to work on the badges and had noticed the problem so I'd double checked for her to confirm.
  13. Do you know the difference between envy and jealousy? Envy is wanting an expensive house like the guy's down the street. Jealousy is wanting that house.

  15. (Hands Synergy a box of Depends) Hopefully this helps. Without seeing what they were manipulating on the UI it's really hard to say, but yeah, I don't recall brimstone being that body covering either. Still looking forward to seeing what they've done.
  16. Hm... looking at the video, to me it almost looks like new animations for crystal and brimstone armors and a bit of colorization thrown in. You can see the little bit of Minerals armor happening at the end.

    Now if the Stone Armor is getting both a Lava or Crystalline themed sets on top of the existing animations, cool. I'm still hoping that Granite Armor will scale to character size.

    You could try to contact Gorgus, or one of the other good Tanks at "Tanks A Lot" SG on Freedom. They started an all Tank superteam as shown in this thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=127889

    It seems to have fizzled out because of level differences, but maybe they'd be up for a more Tanker Tuesday style once-a-month gathering. The 4th Tuesday is open.

    You really just need someone to advertise the event, and help put teams that work level-wise together.

    Let me know if you need any help getting it started.

  21. I still think that it might be interesting to set it so that each additional tank on a team adds to the tanks Aggro cap. Make it so they need to be within a specific range of each other, say 100' or so. Don't make the added number a huge amount per tank, but somewhere in the 3-5 range per additional tank, if not slightly less. You'd end up with an aggro cap anywhere between 38-56 on a full tank team. A. it adds to the aggro cap but B. makes it so that adding a second tank isn't worthless because of the their adding to said cap. Hope that makes sense.

    Gauntlet 2.0

    As I'm sure most of you have seen, Kruunch has started a new thread about removing the aggro cap. Would it be both a. reasonable, and b. feasible to have gauntlet set so that each additional tank on a team increases the tanks aggro cap? I know this doesn't help resolve tanks endurance issues at the low levels, but it might make for an interesting direction for gauntlet.

    I've had similar issues with the latest Firefox (3.5.2) running on Vista. On top of that sometimes when I log in I'll get sent to the redirect page with the "thanks for logging on" and once I've been redirected... I'm no longer logged on. A second or third attempt and I'm on. Very odd.

    Gauntlet 2.0

    Along the lines of what McBoo mentioned, as opposed to damage what about a minor -recharge? Something that would stack with enough spamming of the gauntlet effect and make having more then one tank add to the -recharge.

    Not sure it would help, but it's an idea.
