I prefer to go with 4 slots of Reactive Armor for my Resist powers instead of the Imperviums for the s/l defense bonus.
If you take the Regen. Tissue +regen and move into another slot in health and replace the two health IO's in PP with two Numina's(heal and heal/?) you can push your regen to 349%. It's a small amount, but not sure if that makes enough of a difference to you. -
Don't really have time to look at this in detail. Impressive numbers overall, but with that kind of endurance usage you're just going to be a bag of hit points/defense. Any attacking on your part for very long will drain you to the point you're going to have to stop to keep your toggles from dropping. Not using FA will help a little, but there goes your accuracy. Most folks shoot for at least a +2 end/sec recovery vs. usage if not more so they have "a chance" of continually attacking over extended fights. In some cases that's not even enough. With your "2.4/s usage vs 3.58/s recovery" on your worst case endurance drain scenario, yikes!

I certainly don't have a clue as to what the real values are, but according to the wiki you're going with a value of 2 pretty much coincides with what they're saying there.

Quote:I don't worry about that small a health bonus either. I figured you'd not only want to use that slot better, but it would be nice not to have such an expensive IO going to waste.Ill be honest.. I dont worry about the lil bonuses like the health bonus. However the LotG is a concern because that is a waste of a slot.
-
Quote:Yes I do and my understanding is that the rule of five does not apply to LoTG's Global recharge speed IO's.
Quote:I thought that LotG was a special case because it's considered a different bonus than any other 7.5% recharge bonuses. Therefore, you can have 5 other 7.5% bonuses and 5 7.5% LotG bonuses. Usually, a bonus of the same type and amount is considered the same bonus and you can't have more than a total of 5 from any set.
But I'm the first to admit my lack of experience in this area, so I definitely could be wrong.
This is my understanding of how the rule of 5 applies. Mid's is also showing that you've exceeded the rule of 5 and capped with the LoTG's +7.5% recharge's. It's also showing that you've capped with the + 21.1 hp (1.13) Hit point bonus as well, but I figured that was minor compared to the LotG. -
Airhammer, do you really have 6 LotG +recharges in that build? The Mid's data shows that you do. If so, the 6th one is doing you no good as you've broken the rule of 5. Any more then 5 of the same type of bonus will not apply/work.

Well put together build Finduilas. Agree with your opening comments on this last post. On top of that, what does that additional 15% get him on his attacks etc.? Not as much as getting better end management on attacks and hitting the softcap.
-
Although I do have Grant Cover in my Shield/SS tank you can hold off on getting it till late(r). As was mentioned, get Shield Charge as soon as you can. It helps greatly with both with damage and mitigation. (And it is a lot of fun too.

My dark/dark tank "Interruption" came from all the critters complaining about the Interruption ruining/interrupting their plans....

Tank Place: the IP gate in Kings Row, tonight on Justice Server.

As always all lvl tanks are welcome to join in. -
Without knowing how you've slotted your attacks it's hard to truly judge what kind of damage you're possibly doing, so any more information would be helpful.
Secondly, if this was my toon I'd drop both Resist Elements and Resist Energies. I'd replace them with either Incinerate or Greater Fire Sword if not both, as both of those are your higher damage single target attacks. Greater Fire Sword gives you slightly better dps according to mids, but at nearly twice the end cost of Incinerate. You can get hasten as your second choice instead.
As far as the Pyre mastery goes I like having Char to put a hold on annoying enemies: Malta Sappers are a perfect example. Then Fire Blast/Fire Ball. You'll certainly get more AoE damage from Fire Ball and Fire Blast is great for runners.
Not sure if this is helpful, but hopefully will give you some ideas. -
What do you have so far with this build? Can you post what you've got so far? More information is better.
-
Yeah. I've got a toon set to full height with a huge build. Going through some maps, especially caves is a pain. I've never made a toon that large again.
-
Not that I'm an expert at ice tankers, but most of the comments I ever read about Ice is that permafrost is skippable on an Ice tanker. Since it is a resist you can put the steadfast +3% def/resist unique in there or you can four or five slot Reactive's to give you some defensive bonuses. If you go 5 or 6 slots you can get bonuses from the Titanium Coating or Aegis sets depending on what you want/need.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page This site has lots of good information about the game.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Invent...nt_Set_Bonuses
This is a good spot for information on IO set bonuses. -
A few more notes: Take a look at Multistrike in Blazing Aura over Obliteration. Oblits have a little better/different set bonus, but the Multistrikes will save you a huge amount of endurance. Again, its up to you. I hope you've gotten a lower lvl -kb IO if you plan on exemping down. If I recall correctly the IO bonus won't work if it's more then 3 lvls above your level when you exemp down.
If you're not aware of this you should try and get these four accolades if you don't have them: The Atlas Medallion, Freedom Phalanx Reserve, Task Force Commander and Portal Jockey. They'll give you an additional 20% to your HP and 10% to your Endurance totals, automatically increasing your regen. and recovery numbers since those are based on your HP/End totals. You can see how they effect things by enabling them under the hero accolades in Mids.
Have fun with the updated tank! -
I'll also include a copy of the build I'm working towards as an example of going in a different direction. In the end you need to find what works for you. Right now all of his primary powers are IO'd and a large portion of his secondary and pool/epics are also finished. (The Oblits and Kinetic Combats are slow/expensive to come by.) I've chosen not to go with burn nor taunt and it's worked out well so far, but as always YMMV. Even currently with s/l defenses around 18 he does quite well. By no means is this the best possible build out there, but it is an example of something that's working for me and my play style and is a lot sturdier then my first build of this tank.
(FYI the level of the IO's shown don't truely reflect the lvls that are in the build. Most of them are lvl 35+ with the exception of the steadfast -kb which is around lvl 14 I think. I just haven't taken the time to adjust the individual IO's to their current lvls.)

If you let us know what you've got in your build so far we might be able to help a bit more. Not knowing what you're working with leaves us somewhat blind to your issues.
-
First off I noticed you don't have any kb protection. Get the steadfast -kb or the karma -kb protection as early as possible. Combat jumping uses so little end it's really better to single slot it with defense, or double slot it for a specific set bonus. (like two GotA, or two LotG with one being the recharge). Heck, put that karma -kb in Combat Jumping.

enjoy.
It takes a lot of cash and time but you can get a fire tank to the s/l softcap. Yes they can still make a decent tank. I've got one that is currently sitting at 18% defense to s/l and 70% resist s/l. Eventually he'll be sitting over 30% def. s/l. He does fine in most situations. Getting Tough and Weave has helped him tremendously. -
Merits would be good for getting that -kb BotZ. Did that recently on my Dark/Dark. But really, Invul. doesn't need it.
Also, you might want to get Invincibility earlier in the build. Waiting till level 30 is awfully late to be getting it. -
According to the wiki.cohtitan.com site all status effect resistances have a cap of 10,001.01%. That should also include slow resistance.

Hopefully I'll be there and will be able to stick around this time.

If you want to transfer your toon go for it, or just make a new tank on Champions and join in on the fun. All levels are welcome. (I fell to my altitis and made a new one.)
Justice now has a TT on the second Tuesday of the month as a permanent event.
Everyone meets in KR by the IP gate at 6pm pst, 9pm est. Most of the time Pep Rally, Warboss or Witty Librarian have gotten things started for the few I've been to, but I'm sure there are a couple of folks I'm not mentioning/remembering off the top of my head who have also been greatly involved in the process along the way. Just head to the IP gate before the starting time.
Unfortunately I'll be missing out on tonight's Tanker Tuesday because of a previous commitment. Have fun. -
I'm thinking about switching from my Cox cable internet service to the Clearwire Wimax (https://www.clear.com ) service and was wondering if anyone was using Clear and if so, how well does the game handle it?
In general, how well does the service work for you?
