  1. If you were to run Herostats (which from what I understand you have absolutely no interest in running, which is fine) you'd see that Lightning Field would be one of your highest damaging attack, if not the highest. (With proper slotting damage fields are also very DPE efficient.) While it's certainly small ticks of damage, those ticks every two seconds add up; especially in a large mob. You can certainly continue to avoid using it, but you're missing out on a huge chunk of damage potential.
  2. I don't think either of my Water Blast toons have gotten into the 30s yet... so I'm even further behind.

    I'm a slacker. I know it.
  3. Over all the build looks reasonably good. My personal preference would be to switch Resist Energies with Resist Elements. Even with the Accolades and the Agility Alpha, I'm concerned about your endurance usage in your attacks. (Especially with your recharge/endurance ratio in Burst and Focus Burst.) With those things in mind I made some small tweaks to the Enhancements. I also gave a few of your recharge IOs some +levels as well. Even with the changes, I'm still not 100% sure that you won't be having some endurance issues.

Anyway, take a look at what I've done and see if any of it works for you.

  4. I nearly forgot to mention this, but there was a nice turn out for the event. I think there were 20+ brutes that showed up, divided into 3 teams. Sounded like everyone had fun. I'll try and remember to post about the next BTT event date in September when it gets closer. I believe it's Sept. 13th.

I also think NuclearMedicine, aka @Warboss is trying to gauge whether or not there's interest in running two of these per month, instead of just the one.

    Thanks for your time.
  5. I think it's a very Avant Garde Idea that must immediately be placed where it rightfully belongs. It must be filed in the Circular File post haste!

Ok. On a less Ironic tone, this idea has about as much chance to fly as a lead brick. Too many specific religion connotations. Nothing to do with the Mayan calendar's supposed "end of the world".

    So, uhm... no.
  6. I'll let someone who's played an Ice/Ice tank before help you with the details, but you might find this information useful.

Someone over in the Mac forums has put together a Mid's Wineskin Wrapper build that you might want to check out. It's a bit out of date at the moment, but at least it's something.

Point of order here. I explained that I wasn't doing it to be rude. Back to your regularly scheduled caterwauling.
  8. Why is this thread still open?

Enough is enough folks. Time to move on. Let her have the last word if she want's it, I really don't care.

We're not going to change her mind. She's been backed into a corner like a cat, and even if anyone wanted to help her, she'll take a swipe at you. Even if she was willing to step back, re-evaluate, and come up with a different conclusion about a few of us, I seriously doubt she'd be willing to openly admit it after all this fuss. (Her conclusions about a few of you, I'm not sure I would disagree with.) Stop trying to convince the colorblind they're seeing things wrong!

Continuing to provoke her won't solve anything either. All it does is make a few of you look bad, if not worse.

Evil, if you want to keep thinking I was rude and disrespectful, go for it. I've got big shoulders and a thick skin. (My wife would include a thick skull as well, but that's a different story. ) Maybe in 6 months you'll look back and realize I wasn't. Who knows, maybe a few years down the line you'll kick me in the shins at a Player Summit while yelling at me with invectives. Whatever let's you sleep at night.

I will say this, if you're only interested in putting out information and not concerned about a dialog, you may wish to look into blogging like others have here. You can always put links to your blog in your sig. You'll probably have greater control over who can, or cannot reply to your blogging. Until you find a way to be less defensive about things, you'll probably continue to have a rough time here with the waves you create for yourself. (Even though you don't see that you are creating most of them.) I can tell you're smart enough to see that, if you'd only let yourself.

    Everyone else, go home.
  9. The two Water Blast toons I made:

Water/MM Blaster: Texas Oilman. Everything colored black, with hints of white to try and give it a "shiny" aspect.

Water/Storm Corruptor: SeaWall. Humanoid from a magical Water Planet who has some ability to control water and the weather. Has limited ability to survive out of water, so he spends most of his time in an environmental suit.
  10. Can't the Mods change the title for you, if you ask nicely?
  11. Not sure if anyone is interested, but there's a monthly player run, all Brute event on Justice tomorrow night. All Brutes of all levels are welcome. They meet in RWZ at 6pm PDT\9pm EDT and they'll get teams formed from there.

It was originally started in October of 2010 using the Tanker Tuesday event as the model. It started as a second Monday of the month event, but has since been changed to the Thursday following the Justice Tanker Tuesday event. ( Don't look at me like that, I didn't make the schedule. )

If you're interested in joining in on any of the teams drop by Justice tomorrow night. You can also join the BruteHQ global channel if you have any questions about the event.
  12. I guess I'm not seeing how this would help anything, based on my understanding of the current attack mechanics. I'll go poke my head at the formula again, as it's been a while since I've looked at it.

Re-balancing Elude in the manner Dechs mentioned wouldn't be a bad way to go.
  13. While that maybe true about the mods, there were several threads suggesting this idea or something similar within the last month or two that wouldn't have been "necro'd".

Super Reflexes requires you to take most powers. I'd consider skipping Elude (the final power) and taking everything else.

Fire Armor has skippable powers: Temperature Protection first of all is quite skippable, maybe Consume is the next most skippable.

For both powersets I'd definitely consider the Fighting Pool - take one of the attacks (neither are great) and Tough and Weave - these add to your defensive primary powers.
Also grab a travel power from the pools - whatever you feel like.

Super Reflexes may benefit from the Medicine Pool, grab Aid Self since you have no self heal.

For your secondary, take as many attacks as you need to keep on attacking.

For Martial Arts you have more single target attacks than you need. You can drop one or even two of Crane Kick, Cobra Strike and Crippling Axe quite easily. Storm Kick is a must have, it adds to your Defence whenever you use it.
My preference would be to keep Consume, but that's just me.

I also believe that you can hit the Defensive soft cap on a SR tank without needing Weave, just using Combat Jumping and the Steadfast unique, but I'd have to double check. I'd certainly keep Weave on my Fire tank though.
  15. From what I heard the Apex never happened as there wasn't enough interest in doing it.

Beyond that, 4 teams going. Loads of fun.

Thanks again to DJDirty and the Radio Paragon folks for broadcasting the tunes.
  16. There's no simple answer to that, as there isn't one "right way". Some people don't take all the attacks in their secondary, and will fill in their attack chain from the epic pools. Some people take every attack in their secondary and use pool powers to supplement their survivability. Some do a little of both. All of those choices can still make viable end game tanks.

My usual preference is to take 7-8 attacks out of my secondary, but that also depends on what other powers I'm taking. I have some Tanks that have taken every power from their secondary. It all depends on what I think the toon "needs".

I'm sorry if this isn't a straight forward "do this" answer, but there really isn't one.
  17. I found out through the grapevine that they're in the midst of patching it.
  18. Received the above message while trying to log onto the test server. I don't recall seeing anything mentioning that this was going to be down...

Did I miss something or is this a mistake?
  19. Not like I haven't done the same.

Still, sometimes you get a mob that drops an additional one or two that you can't always get to immediately. Keeps you on your toes until you get them all down.

    Thanks for the help, everyone!
The proc is definitely amazing in Dark Regen. And from what I can tell in beta, it's only going to get better.

I've been thinking of pairing up with warmace, dark, or maybe electric. Would take some feedback on what works well in a tanks hands.

I'm not really looking for builds just some general performance feedback. Good/bad/ middle of the road? How's it worked for you?
Beyond what the others have mentioned, just like every other defensive set, Shield really benefits from hitting the soft cap. The nice thing about Shield on a tank, it's fairly easy to achieve this. Until your defenses start getting into the Mid-upper 30s, you may feel a bit squishy. Don't worry, it will get better.

DE Eminators, especially the Quartz, always makes life interesting for my Shield Tank.
  24. I can read the title two ways:

    1. "The BMW you gave me is nice and all that, but I want a Lamborghini!"
    2. "Alright Blue. You've done a nice job on that painting, but with the talent you've got I know you can do it better..."
It all depends on the tone you read it in.

I don't see the mix and match idea Blue mentioned in their original post working. Even they don't.

Would I like to see more alternate animations for a lot of the powers in the game? Absolutely. More customization wouldn't be a horrible thing to have.
