  1. Sorry if my first reaction was a bit harsh. It's the kind of reaction I'd have if I took a drink Guinness beer. I know folks who like them, but it's not for me.

    First of all you need more attacks. To do so I'd recommend dropping Conserve Power, Physical Perfection and Maneuvers. It takes a touch more work, but it really isn't that hard to get a SD tank to the soft cap.

    To help with the end recovery I would 4 slot GotA in Deflection, Battle agility and/or Weave. (I'd probably only two slot Weave with GotA Def and Def/End and add in a third slot for a LotG +7.5% recharge) A little bit of +recover and + end go along way.

    I rarely put more then 4 slots in any defensive/resistance power as you hit the ED cap for your def/resist easily and you can still get can get plenty of endurance redux. An exception to the rule is Deflection, where I'd take two of the slots you've got in Weave and put them there. Slot them with either resist IO's, or if you want a tad bit more recovery, two Imperviums. (It's only .04 recovery if you go that route, but every little bit can add up.)

    So what would I do with the three power choices that have opened up?
    • Combustion @ level 4 (5 slot with Scirocco's)
    • Build up @ whatever level you feel comfortable getting it at (6 slot with Gaussian's)
    • Incinerate @ Level 35 (6 slotted ToD)!
    Of the 3.58% defense you lost by dropping Maneuvers, you gained 2.5% back from the Gaussian's set with the added bonus of better to hit and greater damage and the loss of an end draining toggle. Win/Win.

    Get Shield Charge no later then lvl 26.

    Scorch and Greater Fire Sword I'd 5 slotted with Crushing Impact for the +acc, +rech.

    Active Defense doesn't need 3 recharge slots and hasten doesn't need 4 recharge slots. Use them elsewhere. Some folks recommend putting two Membrane Exposure HamiO's in AD to help with defense debuffs.

    True Grit: Shields don't need any more kb protection so you can save yourself some cash and replace it with a heal IO.

    Take some of the cash you saved from that -kb and help finance a LoTG recharge and throw it into Phalanx. Add a second slot with LoTG defense to get the 10% regen bonus if you want.

    AAO: One end redux IO, one taunt IO should be enough. The taunt will help keep them close adding fuel to the damage buff.

    Grant Cover: you should be able to get away with the original slot. Keep the end redux IO, or throw in a Cytoskeleton Hami if you feel like it.

    Make sure you get these four accolades: Portal Jockey, The Atlas Medallion, Task Force Commander and the Freedom Phalanx Reserve. Nice +hp and +end totals.

    These certainly aren't perfect suggestions, but at least this may give you some ideas.
  2. You've certainly achieved something.... I'm just not sure what you've got would be enjoyable to play. I apologize in advance, but I'm going to come across quite critical. Really, I'm just stunned/confused by this build as this isn't anywhere close to what I would find playable and/or a necessary direction to go in.

    Yes, you've gotten to the soft cap and yes, you've got amazing regeneration going. But you don't have much in the way of attacks.

    Scorch until you get boxing? (which is only there as a prerequisite for tough/weave) Finally at lvl 28 a second attack? This would drive me insane even with two or three vet attacks. Shield Charge at lvl 35? Why? It's your best AoE attack, get it earlier (like lvl 26 when it comes available) and enjoy it's greatness. A fourth slot in Hasten? Is that 3.2 sec recharge that important? Maneuvers on a tank? I suppose..... but that might be stretching it.

    Can I say yikes?

    I could go on, but I'm going to stop here.

    Ok.

    So question. What are you trying to achieve here? Be a big defensive bag taking all the aggro while your team defeats things, or an active member of the team helping fight? Right now you look like a big bag of hit points. Again, personally this build would have me smacking my head against the desk so I may not be the best help/judge.

    Uhm... first of all. Since it currently is based on random rolls there are no guarantees that you will get your "desired" salvage within your quoted "two rolls". It has at times taken nearly 15-16 rolls to achieve that, so I'm spending 100+ tickets. (yes, some days the random number generator doesn't like me.) Sometimes it's been within the first few rolls. On average it's more then 5 rolls. And yes, I am looking in the correct common salvage level/type. So at times I'm spending more tickets to get the wanted piece of common salvage than it would have cost to buy one uncommon salvage with tickets. Kind of annoying there and very incongruous with how you can purchase uncommon and rare salvage within the AE system.

    You're second assumption would be that I need any of the additional salvage I've rolled, that said salvage is worth saving, or worth putting on the market. More times then not the extra salvage I'm getting is duplicates of salvage I already have or are pieces that the market has been over burdened by already (Like the market currently needs more Mathematical Proofs.) and are selling for less then I can vendor. Although it probably isn't as bad as I may think, it sometimes feels like 9 out of those extra 10 pieces of salvage are worth diddly squat. (Woo hoo. 250 inf per sale to the vendor! I is rich! ) I will always check my base salvage to see if it's something we need or if I can make a little on the market. In general it gets sold to a vendor as it's not worth keeping.

    In the end I wouldn't mind paying the 20-40 tickets mentioned as the AE purchase price as it would A. be on par with what I spend anyway trying to get the salvage I want, B. be a lot more efficient with my time and tickets unlike days where the random number roles go against me, C. I'll stop feeling like a monkey pulling a lever trying to get a peanut to drop out, and D. I'll get back into running missions, etc. sooner.


    As an aside I think having the ability to purchase specific common salvage would help smooth out the common salvage prices in the market. People would grab more from the AE to try and make a quick buck off the over inflated prices, bringing in more supply which in turn would ease the demand. But, I suspect those that are making profits off the market extremes aren't interested in this idea as they'd be afraid folks would find out how easy it is to get salvage of all types through the AE.

  6. Since the targeting reticule is associated with the left mouse button it's simpler/quicker to keep the binds associated with the left mouse button. You left click as part of the bind and you go, instead of having to make an additional left click to to "target" where you go. If that makes sense.....
  7. I already use "lshift+lbutton" for Shield Charge and was going to try someone elses suggestion of "mousechord" for Lightning Rod. Mousechord, from what I understand, is pressing both mouse buttons at the same time. Haven't tried it yet as I'm still a ways away from LR.

    You might try going lshift+lbutton for one, and lctrl+lbutton for the other as a different choice.

  12. I'm certainly not opposed to Snow Globe's idea as I've had streaks where it has taken nearly 20 random rolls to get that one elusive common salvage.

    I'd be willing to pay 40 tickets to get a specific common as it would still save me the time and headache of having to run back and forth emptying my pockets until I get the "one" piece I'm looking for. It would be interesting if they kept the current random rolls for 8 tickets and added in a second option to buy a specific salvage.

    On a side note; if find it quite amusing that more people DON'T use tickets to buy the salvage they need but instead spend 100's of thousands, if not millions for salvage that they could easily buy after running an AE mission or two.

    I suspect they were thinking about the combat tab in the chat window. It will show you your percentage to hit the individual enemies and what your "to hit" roll really was for a given attack.

    Combat attributes will certainly show what your base "to hit" is and if you've been buffed/de-buffed, but it won't show the individual powers chances to do so for any particular critter.

    Mid's problem!

    Have you uninstalled the older version? I believe going from ver. 1.4 to the current 1.6 without uninstalling 1.4 will cause the issue you're seeing.

  23. Although I would have loved to have joined in on the fun I knew I wasn't available to come along for the ride.

    For those of you who aren't aware of it there are regularly scheduled all tank events called Tanker Tuesdays (hence forth referred to as TT's. ). We run regular missions, radios and task forces. First Tuesday of the Month is on Champions, where the event was created and has been going for over 5 years. Second Tuesday of the month occurs on Justice, where last TTJ we had 4 full teams, with two of the teams doing Task Forces. The rest of the Tuesdays come down to whomever speaks up first to grab it for their server.

    March has already been planned out and the schedule can be found here. The meeting place is always in King's Row by the IP gate at 9pm EST/ 6pm PST. Although there maybe the occasional attempt at a theme, such as last month's Fiery Aura, all tanks of all levels are always welcome.

    And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

    Rock Armor.

    I ended up taking most, but not all of the Stone Armor defenses. Stone Skin, Rock Armor, Minerals, Granite and will eventually respec to get Crystal instead of Brimstone.

    Depending on the mob size/levels I'll initially jump in with Granite then drop to Rock/Rooted with the mob specific need, I.E. Minerals or Brimstone. (I find that I really could use Crystal instead of Brimstone, hence my desire to respec and grab it.) If there's already main tank on the team I won't even bother with Granite and just run in Rock/Rooted. I'll do the same with small teams set to smaller spawn sizes and levels.

    As for secondary I went with Stone Melee. If I was to try another Stone Armor I would lean towards a Stone/Fire or Stone/Elec.
