That was a fun Tanker Tuesday Justice event this evening. There was quite the turn out. With the Costume Contest, prizes handed out by Warboss (which I believe were funded by the PERC staff; Philly Girl was hanging around so I'm guessing she had a hand there.), and event Gold Names handed out by a visiting Mod_8 it was a sight. (Mod_8 switching to a Paladin costume was amusing.)
I want to thank Warboss, Ice Knight, and anyone else who helped organize the event. I think we ended up with at least 4 teams going. There was one running a KHTF, one running a Citadel and at least two radio teams going. I ended up on one of the teams running radios in PI. -
I agree that some minor stacking would be nice, to the point it would only add up to around 30% on a team of 8 tanks. I'm not sure how it would be applied with multiple teams around without causing issues.
-
I also believe Consume now adds a resistance to -end.

From what I gather JB thinks this change is pretty "meh" in his mind and doesn't go "far enough".

Quote:I can attest that it was quite tasty. So, last night we cooked brats & andouille sausage... more specifically...
- Punctured uncooked mild italian sausages with fork or small knife (about 3 punctures on two opposite sides) and placed in stewpot.
- Poured a decent beer over sausage (we used Blue Moon last night) to the point that they were immersed completely.
- Last night, I was in the mood for spicy, so I added some already cooked andoullie sausage on top (punctured slightly to impart some of their flavor).
- Topped the whole mess with 4 (small) cloves garlic chopped fine, small (or half a large) onion, & 2 "julienned" green bell peppers.
- Cooked, uncovered, on medium heat for about 15-20 min. We used the handy side burner on the bbq so as not to heat the house up too much (we had a balmy 95 degree day). Some of the andoullies 'sploded, but I was okay with that... just gave the stock some good flavor.
- A few minutes after putting the pot on, we put some foil wrapped corn cobs on the grill.
- When sausages were well cooked, we pulled them out and grilled them briefly just to give them some nice char marks.
- Sausages came out slightly crispy on the outside, but oh so tender on the inside. Served in slightly toasted buns & topped with the cooked peppers & onions.
yum.
.I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with the stock.

I'd also like to add that in an aura the proc will only be allowed to check every 10 seconds. If Invincibility pulses every 2 seconds it would only check every 5th pulse. IF the proc still works in Invincibility you're probably going to see it proc on about 4% of the targets in your aura +/- 1%.

It's pretty well laid out here: Attack Mechanics.
The only thing that threw me was the streak breaker section. I'm so used to seeing to-hit values represented as a % value that for some reason looking at it expressed as the correct mathematical value, ie .9 (representing 90%) it left me scratching my head for a bit. -
Sorry you'll be missing not only this Tanker Tuesday, but a few months worth of them. Hope to see you back on Tanker Tuesdays before Halloween.
-
Quote:Just to be clear, when you reach the streakbreaker limit for any tohit range, the next attack autohits without consulting the roll. It doesn't "force the roll" to be 100%, and there's no way for the random number generator to somehow "override" through malfunction this behavior. Because the roll is simply discarded. You can tell by looking at combat logs: when a streakbreaker hit is induced, there's no roll: the logs say attack was "forced" to hit by the streakbreaker.
Also, just for giggles, I've decided to take another look at the rand used by the tohit system. In the past I've data-harvested combat rolls over long periods of time, and theoretically speaking that could create a skew all its own if the rand was somehow affected by game patches: I could be datamining across radically different implementations. However, its now possible to harvest millions of random rolls in a very short period of time, without any real effort from me. I've been looking at those. I want to analyze about a hundred million combat rolls just to see if there is *any* evidence of a problem with the rand. Frankly, I doubt there is one, but just from the data I have so far I can say there's still no evidence of statistical anomalies with one exception which would probably be impossible to detect in actual play (a hint of a spectral anomaly affecting the least significant bits of the rolls, which some non-cryptographically hard random number generators are subject to, and which most people don't care about - this would only affect how often the decimal part of the roll was a particular value across all random rolls, which is unlikely to affect anyone materially).
Translation: As far as you can tell the random number generator in the "to hit" system is working just fine with a few minor quirks in the thousandth percentile range? -
My Dark/Electric, Stoirm Thoirni, recently hit level 27. I'm still trying to sort out his final build, but so far he's been fun to play. As I've been leveling him the two key elements for me that have made a big difference was making sure I'd slotted the Theft of Essence: +chance for endurance in Dark Regen, and getting Oppressive Gloom at level 26.
-
I'm also another fan of Dark Armor. I posted what I'm working towards as a final build for my DA/DM tank over in Seebs "most colorful build?" thread. It's not as nicely built as Dechs DA/Fire, but take a look and see if it gives you any ideas.
-
When I hit lvl 26 on my Dark/Elec tank I grabbed Oppressive Gloom. Even though it doesn't stun Lts. or Bosses my survivability shot up dramatically. I now have some breathing room for Dark Regen. Not every mob will get stunned, but most will.

Quote:Sure you were, sure you were.
posted by Fusionette: For the last time it was NOT MY FAULT!!!
I did NOT aggro that mob!
I did NOT cause that team wipe!
I hadn't even gotten out of the last room we were in when it happened!!!!
And now NOBODY wants to team with me! Thanks Guys! -
Wait? This isn't about a Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer style booster pack with cool 50's and 60's outfits and Pulp Detective emotes?
Well, fine.
Can't touch this... -

This is the build I'm working towards on my Dark/Dark tank. She's not fully IO'd and is currently sitting in the mid to upper 30% on S/L defense, and it is by no means a perfect build. The attacks could be slotted a little better. I do use Oppressive Gloom to slow down the minions attacks, and if there's a troller around they don't wander so far.
I tend to run all the toggles, which includes Tough, Weave, Combat Jumping and Super Speed most of the time. In longer drawn out fights I'll turn off SS as I can't over come the end usage. I usually make that decision mid group if I see my end bar dropping down below 50% and Dark Consumption hasn't recharged yet, or if I'm down to a single tough boss/AV.
Take a look at it and see if you get any ideas. There are certainly things I'd do slightly different if I had more slots to play with, but for now this is what I'm going with.

Yes it does. There should be a button called "View Totals". Click it and then mouse over your Max hp bar in the totals window.

I'll attempt to bite on this:
I suspect, and those that are in the know can confirm this, that both the players and the critters all refer to the same attack mechanics in the game engine/data base and that there isn't a separate attack mechanic for players and critters.
SO, if you change the Clamp on the formula to 98% for us, it also make it so the critters will also have the same 98% to hit ceiling. So, not only could we hit them more often, but vise verse.
Mind you I could be wrong, but I suspect that's how it would work. -
You can get a second slot right of the bat by turning in the Halloween salvage.
You may want to consider toning down your primary auras on whatever power set you use as spamming lots of colors there might end up making the colors muddled, or toned differently then you'd expected. -
Quote:Not as relevant at level 4 as it might be at 22.
I will at least look at invuln, but apart from that, I was liking dark/dark. I could run up to a crowd of minions a level below me and just leave the toon there while doing something else, and I'd end up with money and xp.
Dark/Dark is a fun combination. I really enjoy playing my lvl 50 Dark/Dark tank.
If I get a chance to move my Inv/Dark over to the test server I'll see how it plays with different color choices on the individual powers. -
Don't forget Tanker Tuesday Justice is coming up next week, Aug. 10th.
-
I agree with what Finduilas mentioned. You could even get away with swapping out Phalanx for Combat Jumping and still retain the enhancements you've already slotted. Maybe take that BotZ -kb IO slot and move it to Battle Agility and add in the LotG: Def/End/Rech for a little more end redux.
Even though AAO tends to draw lots of aggro I preferred to get taunt earlier in my build then the final power. -
Quote:You are correct. I used the generic curry powder when I did the trick. I am sure making a real curry sauce would have made a differnt taste.
(Oddly enough, I learned about curry being different from Azure Dreams.)
Not quite the same but I'll occasionally add some Srirachi sauce to the burger meat.
