    900 Club

I must admit I've been somewhat slacking in mentioning this. Ko Oni II, my fire/fire tank, past 900 badges sometime in early April I believe, and currently sits at 994 confirmed badges.

Here's a link with more information then I'll be mentioning here.

Basically a "League" is a combination of several teams (up to 6) to form a Grouping of teams. The new Incarnate trials, The Lambda Sector and The B.A.F. (Behavioral Adjustment Facility) require you to be in a league to participate.

It's also quite useful when organizing Hamidon raids, making sure each team is balanced for it's particular function. Quite a few are also using them for Ritki ship raids, Zone events like the on going Praetorian invasion, etc.

    SD/SS IO Build

I'm under the impression you're playing the character currently. If you want to, you can export your character from the game into Mids, and from there you can export it to the forums for us to take a look at. That way we can see where you're at and can hopefully point you in a helpful direction.

To do this, do the following: If you have Mids installed on your computer, you should go to the Titan Network and download the Titan Sentinel. (If you don't have Mids installed go to CohPlanner.com) Be aware both are PC only.

Install and run the Sentinel and log into your character in the game. (You don't need to sign up to the Titan network to do this) In the Sentinel, under tools, select utilities and use the Character Export button. Open up Mids and Import from forum post. If you've done everything correctly, that's your current build. Save it for your own files if you wish.

To export to the forums, use the export function. I prefer to use the short forum export, fruit salad color scheme, phpBB/Zetaboard format. Export both the Data Link and Data Chunk as the link doesn't always work properly.
  4. In continuing honor of this sense of humor, I currently have a tank on Defiant called "a bird-brained hero".

I've considered making another toon along the same lines. Ideas currently running around in my head are: "a clerical error", "an accounting error" and "a lack of funds".

    Tough hide..?

Here's a list of how your set bonuses will show up, depending on your slotting: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Invention_Origin_Enhancement_Sets
This won't show the current numbers in game, but when you'll get bonuses as you add in more of the set pieces.

You should get some decent/good bonuses from what Claws suggested.

I will mention that the Kinetic Combats typically aren't cheap to purchase, and you can start with 4 slotting Smashing Haymaker until you can afford the KinCombats.
  6. Having used the league function to run a ship raid I would love to have a simple button for consolidating league teams. Right now when you add someone to the league they show up as a single player on a "new team" and it made it hectic to keep the raid going while moving new players to teams with less then 8.

Barring that, it would be nice if the "invite to league function" would add players to existing teams until they filled up.

Until something like this does get incorporated, I'm not sure I'll attempt to use the league function again for running a ship raid.

If the team leader has no problem with you going off and doing what you want, that's fine. But if he asks you to stay with the group - then you stay with the group. Uhm. I'm not following you down that path General Custer.....
  8. Invulnerable is a good choice for a first tank for all the reasons CMA stated. I must admit my first one was a Fire/Fire tank, and remains my favorite. I rarely have issues holding aggro.
  9. If you're concerned about mob control with Willpower's weaker taunt aura, make sure you grab the Taunt power itself. It may only AoE 5 targets, but at least you'll get their attention.
  10. I would think with the server list consolidation they should be able to join TankHQ without needing to create another one.
  11. Yep. Bruising was added to all Tanker Tier 1 attacks in i18. Link to Wiki page with description.

  15. First of all, I have no idea how NCSoft has the individual "servers" set up and this is shear speculation on my part. I didn't see anyone pointing to this take on things so I'll go there.

It's possible that what we call Freedom, Justice, Protector etc, are all 3-4 server racks, if not more, each.

This "test" they're getting ready to do might be a way to see if they can take a "server" that is 3+ racks and consolidate it onto 1+ rack(s) without losing capability/functionality, etc. Especially for us on the "client side". In essence, they would be merging 3+ server racks of say Freedom down to 1+ server racks. Technically they would be doing a server merge, but not in the fashion some are thinking/wishing for. (Again, I have no idea how many server racks they use, I'm just using these numbers as an example.)

From a business stance that would make sense as they could cut their hardware costs by using less to accomplish the same goal. Better efficiency, lower overhead, better profitability, longer business life.
  16. I haven't had an issue holding Nightstar or Seige's attention in the BAF with my dark/dark tank. I've received plenty of sequestered warnings. I have, however, died pretty quickly when trying to taunt Nightstar to the tennis courts. I found that if I run in quickly and back the towers don't get me.

  18. I talked an in game friend of mine into creating a toon named "A Tad Dangerous" for similar reasons.

Unfortunately this comes across as "moving the goal posts"...
  20. You could add IOs and IO set bonuses to that argument as well.

    Master of Lambda

I still think the way it's laid out is pretty meh.

As I've mentioned in another thread I'd like to see the following changes myself.
Antacid: all the Cylinders in the sabotage portion, none of the Crates. You CAN use any grenades you can find in the courtyard. Don't destroy any Cylinders.

Well Stocked: all the Creates in the sabotage portion, none of the Cylinders. You CAN use any acids you can find in the courtyard. Don't destroy any Crates.

Lambda Looter: all the Cylinders and Crates in the Sabotage portion. None of the Courtyard deliveries can be used/destroyed. (I still think this should award all three badges, but I doubt the devs would go for that)

At least allowing people to grab deliveries in the courtyard would change the requirements up enough to make it less repetitive than to do it the way it's set now.
  • That is still more then most of the other servers get.
  • I was going to add a long explanation concerning how players bringing their primarily S/L damage toons would end up feeling like a 3rd wheel because then couldn't do anything to Marauder, but I think it's been covered here already.
