  1. Inv/SS? Awesome.... and by Awesome, I mean please go read Call Me Awesome's two guides to Invulnerable tanks!

Invulnerability Tanker, the first 20 levels, (for times when you may exemp down.)

Invulnerability tankers and the Defense soft cap,
(Getting your toon to the soft-cap can make a world of difference)

There are also plenty of Inv/SS threads in the tank forums, I suggest you read some of them and decide what you want out of your tank compared to what others are shooting for.

Since you're toon is already to lvl 50, you should grab the Titan Sentinel tool and use it to pull out your current build and drop it into Mids Hero Planner. After that you can either export it into this thread, or spend time adjusting your build before dropping into this thread, using the other threads as examples.
  2. Before you completely redo your build, try changing your Alpha Incarnate slot to Cardiac Radial Paragon.

That won't help you when you exemp, but it might help you enough to keep you going at lvl 50.
  3. I think you should look at set bonuses that build on the strength of the tank sets that your working with......

Unless of course you're looking for more recharge.....

Or you're looking for more HP.....

Or looking to do more dmg.....

    Or you're looking to softcap....

Sorry to give very vague answers, but until you give us MORE information that's all I got.
  4. You MUST be on the ground to use Burn.
  5. Happy Birthday my darling Impish.

Lol. You never did answer the question. Which I must admit, I find amusing. You have yet to say in any of your posts why you don't. I find that "curious", and I am the curious sort about some things.

Personally, I suspect that until Positron and a few other key players in the Dev staff leave, any type of power set respec won't happen. It's all about "design philosophy". Mind you I could be wrong about this, and will gladly admit it should they suddenly implement it.

I also agree with the quote of Memphis Bill's that Je Saist posted. Why would they do it at this point, if they could make more money off of enticing folks to subscribe?

Anyway, have fun storming the castle.
  7. He usually knows when it's Tanker Tuesday..... usually.
  8. Technically wouldn't that mean that Brutal Mondays will no longer exist and will now be called Brutal Thursdays?

    What Finduilas said.

A full set of Oblits gives you 3.75% MELEE Defense, and 1.88% S/L Defense. So no, it wouldn't break the rule of 5.
  11. Oh, and FYI, the original poster was advocating being able to change your primary, secondary, and AT at "a cost".

My idea was a different take on things.

Sorry if you don't understand it. And yes, I was suggesting making Vet names red, for a limited time, to clue the world into the fact you did do a "total respec". Why does that bother you so much?

As I originally stated, I'm not endorsing the idea of power set respecs, but I threw out the one idea as a possible means to stop the endless tide of "full power respec" threads. And for anyone who wishes to go down that road, even myself should I ever "decide" to do so, I don't think it should be an easy, painless process. Since I'm not really endorsing the idea, I'll let you try and sort it out on your own.

I play the game for fun, and shouldn't have to worry about people living in their mothers basement or 13 year old boys who should be in school.
If this was happening over team speak, turn it off.
If they have an issue with that, tell them via the game, you were not comfortable with being on team speak, and felt like you were being harassed.
If they harass you about it in game, now you have a record of it and can pass it on to the mods. Make sure you've got chat logging on as it will get everything. Global and Character tells will have their own separate text files.
You must remember that in that situation you still had a choice to leave Team Speak and should have taken that choice, for your own comfort level if nothing else. No matter how "obligated" you may have felt to be on team speak, it isn't required.
  14. Yep, I'd done a touch more digging to see that. By then others had chimed in. I had recalled it was 50%, but wanted to make sure I found something "official".

I wouldn't waste my one-time "total" respec on a power set I didn't know how to play (I guess some would, but again, the red flag is a bit over the top to me given the A-D requirements you laid out).
Well, the nice thing about your above example: Veteran status. The AE PL'd lvl 50 toon wouldn't even have the 3 month vet badge. And I'm sure they'd have lots of AE badges to go with that.
  16. As has been mentioned, should someone be harassing you in game, report them. Harassment knows no sexual boundary. Reporting someone harassing you will more then likely save someone else from being harassed by the same individual. /ignore is also a great early tool to use.

If you're being harassed, look to Shadow Kitty's post for what you should do, that's good.

The rest of you? Stop talking. All of you.
Psst. Since you've also posted in this thread, doesn't this make you equally wrong?
  18. Psst... Joke is still joke...

And that's realyl to the player's benefit, because they'll get to learn their new powersets, just as if a comic character suddenly got a whole new bunch of powers replacing their old one. (See: Electric Superman for the most prominent example)

... that said, it's still not worth the time to implement, when you can pretty much already accomplish the same thing by deleting and recreating the character.
As has been pointed out before, some of the accolade powers you can get are very nice and would be a bit over powered on a low level character. Which is another point against just restarting characters again at lvl 1. IF the devs ever did this, you can almost guarantee they'd find a way to lvl gate Accolade power unlocks somehow. Which in turn might effect how the powers work/don't work when exempted.

Also consider some of the temp powers you can get leveling up. Warwolves, Amy's Ward, etc.

While it's not a big deal to me--if it were, I guess I could rename her and reroll with /dp (or delete her *gasp* Nevah!), but . . . well, that's just not going to happen, it would be nice to respec her to /dp. Very nice.

[waffling, indecisive comment ends due to waffling indecision]
Hence my use of "probably" instead of saying the person "has no clue" about their new powerset. You may have an understanding of your new set, but there will still be people who would switch to a power set they haven't used before for that particular AT, or on other ATs. and would have no clue. Hence the "red flag".
  22. * Black Scorpion: So you didn't summon me to fight anyone, but your car's battery has died and you need a "push"? Uh, huh. Hop in and I'll give your car a "push" you'll never forget.
  23. I don't have hover on my SD/SS tank, but I do have fly. Shield Charge works just fine when I'm flying. I would expect it to work just fine with hover.
  24. My understanding is this: with Stealth from the power pool you will lose all your stealth in combat, and at least 1/2 your defenses will be suppressed.

So far my search foo is weak and I haven't found anything stating this directly. Mids does indicate something along these lines, but no specific numbers.
  25. As someone who has a high level of altitis I've never been a proponent of this idea, nor am I one yet. I've re-rolled toons that were into their mid 30s when I decided I just wasn't happy with the powerset choise I'd originally made. But, I was thinking about it earlier and came up with an idea.

    A. Each Character can only get ONE lifetime full respec. Make the wrong powerset choice? To bad, so sad, you lose. No going back for another attempt.
    B. You can't switch Archetypes. You originally rolled a scrapper, you can't switch to a controller, or VEAT, etc. You're stuck as a scrapper.
    C. The individual toon MUST have been created at least 24 months ago if not 36 months ago. (not sure if the game would be able to track that.)
    D. With the new Paragon Point system it would cost at least 2400 pts per character respec, if not higher.
    E. Your character title would turn red for 3 months after you did the respec, giving a warning to other players that you are probably not as familiar with your powersets as a normally leveled up toon would be.

Again, I don't think the total respec is necessary, but this may satisfy some who want/desire/"need" it.
