No rename tokens? Bah.
I'll probably buy the 0.99$ VIP pack for a second account, but that's probably it. -
If you're having fun with your current build that's all that really matters. Consider anything that's been said here a suggestion that can help, but certainly nothing is set in stone. I've got tank builds that are "outside the box", but I find them entertaining to me and fun to play. The "fun to play" trumps all.

Damage Scalars:
Defenders: .550 Melee, .650 Ranged
Blasters: 1.00 Melee, 1.125 Ranged
Corruptors: .750 Melee, .750 Ranged
Damage Limits: (including base 100% dmg)
Brutes: 775%
Blasters, Corruptors, Scrappers and Stalkers: 210% until level 21, then it jumps to 500%
(IF I recall correctly Scrapper criticals don't count against the dmg cap for them. )
All others: 200% till level 21, then it jumps to 400%
Hit Points:
Blasters, Defenders, Controllers, Corruptors, Dominators and Stalkers: all have max hp at 1606. (although it looks like stalkers will be getting there HP limit raised in an up coming release.)
Scrappers and Epics: cap at 2409.5
Brutes: 3212.7
Tanks: 3534
Defenses: Brutes, Scrappers and Stalkers all have 75% the strength of tanks in their defense/resists (unless I'm missing something). The pool powers get a bit wonky for other ATs and don't quite match that. -
Well, the recharge boost is 5 seconds long. So I believe each block of white and black represent 1 second, since the first green(boost) is 3 grey and 2 white blocks long.
I've heard a few people mention in global channels recently that they weren't seeing the suppression, but I can't vouch for anecdotal evidence. -
Information on the Proc:

As mentioned the +recharge doesn't stack. I don't recall if the suppression time has been changed, but here's a visual on the suppression time after the proc has fired.

It was one of your toons Warboss. What she's trying to imply is that one shouldn't be able to power level others with a tank.

I recently created my own Invulnerable/Energy Melee tank on Exalted and haven't planned out his build yet. There's been some good advice here so far.
As Hyper mentioned you only need to 3 slot Aegis in the passives with the Resistance, Resistance/Recharge, and Resistance/End Modification IOs, not 4 slot it.
In the long run you might want to change the Serendipity's in Invincibility, Weave, and Maneuvers to Luck of the Gamblers. (Def., Def./End, Def/End/Rech, and the 7.5% Proc). Doing that will give you 10% regen, 21 hpts and 9% accuracy on top of the 7.5% recharge bonus from the proc. That's compared to the 4% regen, 14 hps, and 3% accuracy you're getting from the Serendipity. I'd use Alignment merits to purchase the 7.5% recharge proc.
I'm also a fan of two slotting health with the Miracle; +recovery unique and the Numina's; +regeneration/+recovery unique. They make things easier on the endurance bar. -
Quote:This would probably be the closest you'd be able to get to a ranged/defense AT. Not sure if your "any melee damage within 7' or less adds .5 mez" is feasible within the game, but certainly any 7' or shorter Melee attacks could have your Blapper inherent Mez protection on any successful attacks. I'd probably make your Range modifier .5 of blaster ranges to start.Alright...this is my somewhat serious attempt at what a Ranged/Defense AT could look like.
Blapper
HP Base: 1017.4
HP Max: 1606.4
Damage Scale: .700
Range Scale?: assuming blasters are 1.00...blappers would be .75 (meaning that if a blasters attack has a 100' range, the blappers attack would have a 75' range)
"defense" scale: .5 (Tankers are 1.00 and Scrappers are .75) (Regen and WP would have to be looked at more closely)
No knockback protection.
No Mez Protection Toggles.
(armor set toggles or clicks that currently have mez protection now grant a bonus to the Blappers Inherent ability)
Toggles will be dropped if mezzed. (not just surpressed...except for current mez protection toggles-see inherent ability)
Inherent Power: Blapping
All attacks executed on an enemy within the melee damage range of 7' or less adds .5 mez protection (hold, stun, sleep) that lasts for 5s. Stackable. 3 points of protection max. Each additional attack restarts the 5s timer.
Current armor toggles that offer mez protection offer the Blapper a bonus to Blapping. All attacks executed with in the melee damage range of 7' or less now adds 1 mez protection that lasts for 5s. (so instead of taking 6 attacks to get to the 3 point max...it only takes 3.
Any pool powers in this "New AT" would have to follow the same type of defensive scaling and should not be stronger then Brute/Scrapper/Stalker levels.
Not 100% sure it would be balanced compared to other sets, but THIS would be a better place to start. -
FWIW, wouldn't a Force Field Defender be close to what you're wanting? You'd have your defense while being able to use different ranged attacks? And you could make it in Twilight Blue!

Quote:Trouble is, you're not asking for a car in a new color. We can do that now with color customization. This thread so far:
Downtown at the car dealer......
Me: So I was looking at this sedan. I Like how it drives, and fits my needs- but this color just isn't what I want. Never was a fan of red.
Salesman: Well thats a good choice. That sedan has been a good seller for us.
Me: Well, I would like to buy one. does it come in twilight blue mica?
Salesman: Sorry, if you want blue this sedan only comes in sky blue.
Me: Darn. I really dont care for sky blue. I see you sell that truck in twilight blue.
Salesman: Yes we do, it is a popular color.
Me: Well, can't I get this sedan in that color?
Salesman: Haha, heavens no. If we sold this sedan in twilight blue, it would overpower all the other colors and we would sell all sedans in just twilight blue then.
Me: lolwut?
Salesman: Cant you just buy the truck? I think what you want already exists as this truck here.
Me: errr...no, that truck really isnt anything like this sedan.
Salesman: gah. just admit it. What you really want is a Ferrari. Because if we sold a twilight blue mica sedan, it would be a Ferrari and then everyone would just buy the Ferrari and no one would buy a sedan or truck.
Me: Uh.... well, no I really just like the sedan and I like twilight blue.
Salesman: This is pointless, I dont see why you just can't buy the truck.
Me:..........
What you're asking is for the auto dealer to talk to the car manufacturer into making a Hummer into a Formula One Race car, while still keeping it as sturdy as a Hummer of course. This way you can go as fast as the other Formula One cars, but you can also drive over them if they get in your way. Heck, why bother with taking the turns when you can drive right over the barriers...
Of course you want it in Twilight Blue Mica. -
While I do appreciate the time and effort that went into creating the videos, I can only watch a few minutes at a time. With them being recorded in a "First person" perspective, including lots of quick edits and direction changes, it's causing a bit of motion sickness for me. Hopefully there won't be a lot of folks getting motion sickness from watching them.

Quote:Isn't that what he was doing in his video? I'm not sure I understand your comment since that was the entire point, especially if you read about my wife's toon.
The argument for the OP has always been about dark armor, but we can take any character in the entire game with any combo, give it high levels of defense using IO bonuses and pool powers, and show the same performance.
Quote:You're missing something important here, and that's "Soloing on +4/x8 is not intended at all." If you don't have a well slotted IO build, you're not going to be able to do the same things as I have in my video.
Nothing you have said or your video shows that Dark Armor is squishy. It just shows that Dark Armor, when poorly built and played (thanks Nihilii for saying just about everything I would have), cannot stand up to +4/x8 Council. -
Quote:I couldn't stop laughing after you mentioned +4/x8...Well, ok, let's take my character, not built for defense whatsoever, who runs all toggles and Tough, and put him in a similar scenario, using a +4/x8 Council mission with and without tier 3 barrier core, and naturally I am 50+1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeN7xIXjbsM
Now I don't currently have a mids build for him, no purple sets, and he uses tier 4 spectral radial and tier 4 vigor radial, but here is a shot of what I threw in the character, with my initial goals of killing any kb and especially any end issues since the combo is an endurance nightmare as anyone would guess: http://goo.gl/VAHq2 Health has 3 vanilla healing IOs. I love damage procs on most toons I make as you can probably tell. He has a good way to go when it comes to incarnate powers and I have nothing expensive in him so far.
I just can't do it. Even with all the mounds of mitigation in stone, with this build it's not possible. With SOs it would be far worse, and using SO builds should be the standard in which we compare mitigation strength. My wife's DB/WP scrapper can do it though without much problem, and doesn't have any defense outside of Heightened Senses, but she also uses Tough and has purple sets in a couple of attacks. If I built for more recharge perhaps I could hit dark regen more often but still, is that the goal? (get pounded really hard constantly with these settings but spam the huge end hungry heal?) -
"Low Hanging Fruit" would be things that would be considered the easiest/simplest to accomplish.

Quote:I keep being falsely accused of many things in this thread, but this is scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Just because I'm a native Washingtonian does NOT mean I had anything to do with "THAT" piece of fiction. In what can only be described as a horrific discovery...during last nights TT it was revealed that Rangle is to blame for...Twilight.
At this time it is unknown what purpose sparkly, angst riddled vampires might serve in Rangles devious plots. Investigations will continue. -
My cats are as bad as my dog when it comes to following me around "loyally"...

Random mission bosses spout "I'll get you my pretty, and you're little dog too!"

I'm surprised that they haven't released either Radiation Armor or Radiation Melee yet. Er, I mean, I'd like to see those in game.
-
While I admit I'm a fan of the concept of Radiation Armor and Radiation Melee, I am in no way affiliated with any RAWR movement.

I don't create fashion, I light fashion. There is a difference.
As for the whole "knows when you're asleep, knows when you're awake" thing. I wouldn't want to mess with the "Santa and his Elves" Union. You think the Wall Street protests are bad... sheesh. -

Welcome to the game, and welcome to the Justice Server.
