    Rules for TT

You really should cut back on your meds LSK...

That being said, you've got a few things incorrect. The TT rules are:

    1. Follow the Tank
    2. Witty dies. There is no "must". It's just like the weather, it happens.
    3. There is no rule 3. It's not my fault. There are no Rangle Plots™. Blame Warboss all you want, if you really feel like it.

Leveling a tanker is quite a slow process, especially solo, mostly because taking all the toggles without SOs or enough end redux makes putting out solid damage chains difficult. If tankers had a decreasing end redux as they leveled up (perhaps dissappearing at 20, just before SOs become widely available.). Then it would help reduce the overall "lackluster" feel of low level tankers.
They could do something similar to SoA's Conditioning, not that I'm suggesting they do it.
  3. While I'm not Arcanaville by any means, I'd like to take a "shot" at it Aegis.

I'd like to see a change to Tanks that would make them less "redundant" in the general population's eye. Even if it's in a small way, I'd like for Tanks to be force multipliers. In the past I've advocated that a small percentage of bruising stacked between Tanks. I could also see some other de-buff that Tanks could stack between themselves.
  4. The end stuff....?

    What the?

    Yikes...

    I don't recall typing that...
  5. Nemesis is a hack.

Warboss doesn't have the "brass" to be a fake Nemesis. He has more of an iron constitution then that.

Although she's not Lady Grey, I don't mind seeing Impish in short skirts.

There are no such things as Rangle Plot[COLOR=rgb(255, 255, 255)][FONT=verdana,geneva,lucida,'lucida grande',arial,helvetica,sans-serif]™.

  8. I see that you dropped Melt Armor and spread the slots around. If you're going to go with this build, I'd probably drop a Nucleolus Exposure Hami-O in Fire Blast. If you've got any enhancement boosters you could up the levels on your Hasten and Build Up IOs.

And one thing I forgot to mention: I'm not sure you'll need the recharge in Hibernate, as it is effected by phasing cool down. I don't recall the specifics, but I believe you will only be able to use Hibernate, or any other Phasing power, once every 90 secs.

Anyway. Glad you liked the build. Hope this works well for you.
  9. I could see either a WP/Staff Tank or a Staff/WP Brute fit his concept.

Character could be a sentient plant. The reason his/her race never bothered to learn anything: Their lives were so long, there was always time to learn something "tomorrow". Some plants are so sturdy they can survive nearly anything, and if worse comes to worse the could go dormant till the environment improved. Thus covering your need for them to be "tough".

The gift they received could have been a spore, fungus, or even an insect that "infested the plants" changing how they viewed their world and time. Thus forcing them, because of the changes, to suddenly want to learn things even though they didn't understand why. That was until the infestation died off. There could be numerous possibilities why "it" died off.

As a plant the character could change gender depending on the time of the year, or even be asexual. Sometimes being more effeminate, some times more masculine. (Greater ability to use costumes!)

Anywhosit. Just an idea of a direction.

    Super Stunners

See. I pay attention to the Super Stunners. Their rez doesn't bother me most of the time because I move away, or knock them away when I see that they're about to be defeated. On the off chance I haven't, oh well, that's my own bloody fault. I know what they're abilities are.

I find their version of Static Field more annoying then the rez, but I try and stay out of that patch when I can.
  11. All Paragon Market SBE (Store bought Enhancements) work without an IO license.
  12. This would be closer to how I'd build an Ice tank. You're still soft capped to s/l/e/n before EA. More balanced on endurance management/recovery. Not a big fan of Melt Armor on a tank as I don't think you're getting all that much out of it for the endurance cost, but I left it in there for you. You're accuracy on some powers are slightly down, but your accuracy through the build is much higher. I also beefed up some of your ST attacks. Eventually you'll get down to having only bosses to fight, and AoEs are a slow way to defeat them.

I also toggled on the four accolades I like getting for the permanent +hp and +end: Atlas Medallion, Freedom Phalanx, Task Force Commander, and Portal Jockey. They do make a difference. I didn't include any incarnate abilities.

Anyway, take a look at the build and see if you like any of the changes/recommendations I made. If nothing else it may give you some ideas. Hope you like it.

  13. Of course the title should be changed.

It just proves that anything that was labeled as a Rangle Plot™ was really someone trying to obfuscate Warboss plots. As I've been saying all along, Rangle Plots™ don't exist.
  14. If, and it's a big if, you have Paragon Points left over you can always buy some KB enhancements from the Paragon Market. You won't need an IO license for those, and they're not all that expensive. That would save you having to get and use Acrobatics.

I'd start the build with Consume with as end heavy as TW is. You can always respec out of it and grab Rise of the Phoenix later if you find that you're not having endurance issues. I would also repeat what others have said and really suggest you keep Burn.

It makes absolutely zero sense to use a set that gives up survivability for additional damage.....and then skip the damage.
Yep. Pretty much this. Really, if you're going to skip three powers from the primary don't grab Fiery Aura as "the best choice".
  16. Sounds like you're having fun. I've gotten mine up to lvl 45 ish. I'll eventually get the character Clarion to cover the need for break frees.
  17. But again, it's all supposition. We don't know.

For all we know it could be an iOS/Android/Mobile game. They seem to be fairly popular these days.
  18. Here's a quick run through the sets. The powers I say "you could choose not to" are powers I wouldn't skip, but others have. YMMV

Dark Armor: While I like Oppressive Gloom some people skip/hate it. Cloak of Fear is also considered skip-able. If you're not into rez powers Soul Transfer could be a third choice. I only ignore CoF.

Fiery Aura: Lots skip Temperature Protection, and you could choose not take Rise of the Phoenix.

Electric Armor: You could skip Lightning Reflexes and Power Surge.

Ice Armor: Permafrost is considered skip-able, and you could choose not to take Hibernate.

Stone Armor: Brimestone and Crystal could be skipped if you plan on being perma Granite.

Invulnerable: If you're IO'd out pretty well you could skip Unstoppable, and probably Resist Elements.

Shield Defense: Some people don't take Grant Cover or One with the Shield. I like taking both.

Don't know SR on a tank well enough to say, but Elude is iffy in my book.

Willpower: Some people don't take the rez, and you could skip Strength of Will if you wanted to.

Stone, Dark and Invulnerable are probably your three best bets for having two skip-able powers.

I have no idea what they're working on. Only those "in the know" know. Until the information gets out via Paragon Studios, or via a leak we can only guess. My guess is simple; they're working on "something" that we may, or may not hear about down the line.

(The reason I say "may not" is because things do happen. Someone could pull the plug on the project for design/financial reasons, etc. etc, etc...)

    LoL

Again I'll say this; I think INERTIA is what's going to happen here. YES it would make you all a twitter with excitement and happiness should things ever change. But since a change would also upset quite a few other folks here, I doubt it would happen just to make the proverbial "you" happy. The developers have found out how easy it is to make people unhappy even with minor changes. This wouldn't be minor.

No matter how compelling YOU, and I do mean you, think your argument is... inertia rules. People don't like it when you "move their cheese".

  23. I should have been more specific. "When it comes to Super Heroes, etc."
  24. One other amusing thought I had.

The current Marvel movie verse Tony Stark wouldn't hesitate a second to send a "Cease and Desist" order to anyone who tried to use the name "Iron Man" without his permission. I can see those Stark Corp lawyers in a tizzy now...
