My eyes go cross-eyed every time I see Penny in the splash screen. Her anatomy is all wrong. As has been pointed out by others, her cleavage shouldn't start at her throat, and her body positioning would hurt a contortionist.

Quote:Fixed the quote for you.Unless there's a seperate situation going on for bases, it's really unlikely bases are going anywhere. As it was put in one Coffee Talk conversation, working with bases is like playing with Jenga, on fire.
The code isn't documented and tweaking it can literally break the system. I'd love for there to be a parallel base system developed, though.
S.
I've also promoted, along with a number of other players that they develop a new system alongside the old. Not that I think they'll ever put the resources to it, but I firmly believe that's the best way to approach it. The devs, however, could change my mind if something else is done to improve the plight of base builders everywhere in Paragon... -

Quote:Well then, you've certainly taken an Avant-Garde approach to you're presentation. Sorry if I touched a sensitive nerve.Spelling/grammar on these forums are the least thing I worry about. This aint English class nor am I getting paid for it. So it's irrelevant to me. If the point is gotten across then it's good. If not then maybe it wasnt meant for that particular reader to understand.

Zwill is out for a couple of weeks?
Let's get this party started!
Er I mean... nvm.. -
You might consider separating your paragraphs a bit better. My eyes sorta crossed at this as it looks like a wall of text...
FYI, there were also a few typos you may wish to fix. I'm horrible at spelling myself, so I always end up catching mine after I've posted... sigh. -
Quote:It's the difference between what I have been able to slot on the character live vs. what I have planned. I don't always have every single IO that I need for one completed build. I don't spend weeks/months collecting a pile of them in inventory before slotting them, so I don't usually stuff everything in at once. Once I get the individual IOs, or sets, I start using them.I have zero use for that. I have a 3 ring binder with my builds. I build them in MiDs, print them, create them in the game to match the MiDs printout. If i need them again (because I imploded for instance) I still have a hardcopy record of the build as well as the record saved in Mids if I need a reminder of the values. This is my system.
I think I still misunderstand your statement. How can you not know what is on your character. It is right in your Mids build. Right? You spend however long planning the build in MiDs. How is that not going to be the build on your character. If that is not what you actually put on your character...(say for instance you ignored the 3 hours uyou put into the best Scrapper build of all time and opted instead for level 10 End I/Os on everything) how is Mids going to track that you did not follow the Mids build you created.
My problem is I make and unmake so many high end builds (to re-use I/Os for other projects) That I have trouble following the debris trail, and invest a day or so every few months clearing up the clutter.
Although you've got a three ring binder, and I'm sure it works great for you, I'd prefer not to print out builds. -
Originally I was thinking of highlighting the individual IOs (or some other visual clue), but a check off list would also work.
-
Quote:No, nothing like that.
In other words, when looking at the IO options in the popup for a powerset... something to tell you you've already slotted the max allowable for certain items.
Let me try and clarify myself better. All I'm looking for is this: The ability to highlight in the Mids planner any IOs and enhancements that I've slotted onto a character's Live build. I'm not looking for Mids to read that from the game. I'm looking for way to do that manually. This would be the equivalent of taking a highlighter to a piece of paper showing what I've already done (but without printing up the build).
I hope that makes better sense. -
Quote:grumble. the problem with it being in mids is how do you synch up the data entry with the characters. IF (Big freaking If) Mids could tell me where all my enhancers are on every character (in trays or not) and in my base? I'd PAY for that.
The preferred solution is for NC Soft to actually address their paying customers needs. Yes, i would Pay for that too.
I think you're misunderstanding my question. I'm not looking for Mids to track what I have, or don't have across all my characters. I'm looking for a way to flag IOs/Enhancements on ONE build so that I know what I've already slotted on the ONE character. That's all. Nothing beyond that. -
Btw Aggelakis, you never did answer the questions.
(Not thinking about how much they've already got on their plates as it is, especially with changes coming in i24. Not thinking this would, or even should have any sort of priority. Without trying to "protect them".)
Would you like to see this added to the program? Would you use it if they did? -
Quote:So...Oh man. 3 months ago I did a major re-inventory. I put about 500 enhancers in one base, in alphabetical order. Since then I have made oodles of characters/stripped/half stripped, etc. Oh, further complicating? I have bought lots of "Tuned" enhancers, and those cannot be stored at the base. I am looking at having to spend another day or two regathering everything for my next 3-6 months of builds. Especially with i24 coming up. What I would love? Have something in the game where I can store all my enhancers for my account. Tuned, Regular, all of it. My logic? I buy from NC Soft $15-$100 a month worth of stuff. Throw me a little storage space. In fact, you inspired me to start this as an independent thread.
Was that a yes, you like the idea, or a no, you don't think it's necessary to include this in Mids? (Which isn't an NcSoft product. ) -
Quote:That's certainly not a bad approach. I currently use the alternate enhancement view as a way of trying out different sets in the same power, should I chose to change my mind in the long run. Still "feels" slightly inefficient, but something I'll probably try out as it's a better approach then what I'm currently doing. You can flip to alternate enhancements...this is what I do:
Fill main and alternate with the same enhancements for the build. Remove enhancements from alternate when I obtain one. Then I can have the main enhancement 'view' with all the set bonuses and buffs and stuff, and I can have my 'shopping list' alternate enhancement 'view'. -
Quote:I always find it amusing when someone, who has no idea how a program is coded, goes "it'd be easy" to accomplish something. I know I don't know how hard or easy it would be to do it. Therefore, I presume it won't be easy. I also don't presume that it would be "feasible" to accomplish.Polite suggestions are always welcome, I'd think. It's the "this would be easy for someone else to do" posts that gets people's hackles up. How do you know it's easy?
Anyway, I might use this, though I'm not sure. I tend to buy sets one power at a time, so I track them that way (i.e., what I have slotted so far, and what I'm still bidding on the market). It might be useful in some circumstances, but the enhancement screen and the market itself seem to provide a workaround.
As I mentioned, I've got lots, and lots of toons. Currently I'm sitting at 33 toons alone on my main server, not including what I've got scattered on the other servers. I can certainly lose track of what I'm looking for, bouncing around trying to find IOs or recipes for one of them, if I don't keep a clear record.
For me, this feels it like would be more efficient, but if no one else likes the idea, I'll keep plugging along the way I do now. -
Quote:This thread isn't about suggesting the idea to Mids, this is gauging whether the idea is of interest to the player base (that frequents the forums). If the response is "meh", then I won't bother them further. If lots of people go "yeah, I'd love that", then I can show an interest. Just because I like the idea, doesn't mean anyone else would. You could always post this suggestion on the Mids Suggestions thread, at Titan?
http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/board,61.0.html
I suppose the most effective way to do this would be to have two character files, one for 'current' and one for 'planned'. Sentinel's export function would make maintaining your 'current' build fairly easy.
Be Well!
Fireheart
You're "most effective way" isn't all that efficient. I've tried it, and find it lacking for me. I will still do it that way on more then one occasion as, like I said, I try to be conscientious about printing more then necessary. -
As someone who uses Mids extensively (and suffers greatly from altitis) I've come to the conclusion that there's a functionality that I would love to see added to the program. The ability to flag enhancements to show what I've already purchased and slotted into a character's planned build. Be it a gold ring around the IO itself, or something to denote that I don't need to purchase it, or to find it amongst my other toons inventories.
Currently I print out the builds and highlight what I've done, but as someone who tries to be a bit conscientious about recycling, etc. I try to avoid printing as often as I can. This would save me lots of paper, ink and time.
Beyond the "Standard Code Rant": my question for you is this, if this kind of functionality could be added to Mids, would you want it? Would you use it?
(Hopefully the Mids folks won't want to beat me soundly across the head and shoulders for suggesting this. ) -
Quote:Before everyone trounces you for this idea, which continues to be brought up time and time again, I suggest you use the search function to find all the previously written answers to your question. With as often as it's brought up, there's a lot of replies.Having been with the game for a long time (i1!!), One of my main characters a Mind/Emp controller. As more powers are added/proliferated, I get a gazillion ideas on how some things, but not everything could be different.
It could be as easy as creating a new toon, but with most characters there are a lot of experiences and memories (and of course, badges) that can't be replaced or recreated. Let's just say if I wanted to change her secondary from Empathy to Darkness Affinity, then I could go to the Paragon Market, drop 1000 points (or so), and be able to spec into the power set of my choice. You could also be able to change the primary power set within the same archetype. Maybe 1000 per power set changed or even a "bundle" price for both...?
Just one amongst a gazillion ideas, but hey, let's hear what you think! <3
In general: The Devs have said no, as it goes against their concept of making the game "Alt friendly". They've also looked at the code to even see if it's "feasible", and have stated as recently as April that they couldn't do it, even if they wanted to without breaking things horribly. -
Quote:So that they'd both step on Brutes toes just as much as Brute's step on theirs? So, here's a question nobody can answer to my satisfaction...
Why should tanks do more damage? They are WAI, how are they broken?
Why should scrappers have more survivability? They are WAI and do more sustained damage than anyone...
Everyone knows Brutes can do just as much damage as scrappers, and can be just as survivable as Tanks.
Where have you been? -
Quote:This thread is about the Justice Tanker Tuesday schedule. Each of the Monthly Tanker Tuesday(TT) schedules can be found in the Tanker Forums here, or you can visit the Tanker Tuesday website here. If you would like to join the TankHQ global channel, you can see what upcoming events are by reading the MOTD there. How about Victory???? I have a lovely Rogue 47 1/2 lady stone/stone tanker that would just LOVE to get involved in some TF/SFs on both Blue AND Red sides!!!
It is my understanding that the format for scheduling the Tanker Tuesday events uses the following:
While this may not get the event to your server "Soon™" or "Now", you're always welcome to create a new Tank and join in any of the TT events that are happening on the other servers. Tanks of all levels are always welcome.- First Tuesday of the Month is Champion server, where the Tanker Tuesday event was created. It still remains the longest, and currently longest, running player created event. (if I recall correctly)
- Second Tuesday of the Month is the Justice server. Justice, from what I've observed, has continues to have one of, if not the largest turn outs for each of their Tanker Tuesday events behind Champion. It was also the second server to start running regular TT events on the monthly basis.
- Third Tuesday of the month Alternates between the two larger populated servers: Freedom and Virtue. With odd months (ie January, March, etc) being held on Freedom, and the even months (ie Feb, April, etc) on Virtue. Originally the third Tuesday only included Freedom, but it was change to alternate between the two servers. This made it easier for the 4th and/or 5th Tuesday events to rotate through the other servers faster, and to give Virtue equal footing with Freedom.
- Fourth, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, TT alternates between the remaining "US" servers.
- Additionally there are usually a couple Saturday "Special addition" Tanker Tuesday events that include Exalted, and the originally European based servers. Which include Union, Defiant, Zukunft, etc.
Rule #1 of Tanker Tuesday events: Follow the tank! -

I thought the Texas film rating* system was this:
Stuff with guns and explosions.
Stuff they don't watch.
*I kid, I kid... -
For someone who enjoys getting pun names, I recently rolled up "Sands of Moo", a KM/Dark Brute. While it may not be a great name to others, I find it a very fun one.

Quote:Although "Armored Rugby" is amusing, and is a bit more appropriate in many ways, that ship sailed a long time ago. Unfortunately for the "football" purists, it is and will continue to be called Soccer in the US despite any "uproar".Look, if all ya US "football" fans could agree to call it "armored rugby" or some such, and finally accept that "soccer" should be called football, then it would be much less confusing and annoying for everyone when you're talking to anyone from the. entire. rest. of. the. planet.
Besides, wouldn't "Armored Rugby" sound more macho anyway?
Besides, we're Americans. We've been confusing and annoying everyone else on the planet for decades, why should you expect us to change now? -

I respect TJ's disinterest in teaming, and would never use anything to try and tempt him to do so. That being said, should he ever change his mind I would certainly welcome him on my team.
