BugÂ… In an upcoming patch, flying entities that are disorient will no longer behave oddly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about jumpers? (Personally, I don't ever recall seeing the sprinters, but the jumpers have always been there.)

Hey! Thanks again for all the kind words. The Zone and Mission Designers here are *brilliant* and really bring the world alive. Just like you guys and gals I find myself getting whacked constantly because I'm too busy reading their text. :P

My favorite--and I say it all the time now in response to just about anything I feel like--is "I like pie." You'd be surprised how far that will get you. Try it next time you're at lunch, getting a speeding ticket, or are asked to do something really technical (my favorite).

When Jack got the Jake Emmet mission the first time, the model was...not flattering. It's random within a group of male, casual NPCs which one you get, so there's nothing I can do about it! (I did all the newspaper missions, dialogue, entry text, etc.) I still seem to have my job though. Must be those pictures of Statesman and Recluse having tea and crumpets* together...

    Captain Mako

(*What the heck are crumpets anyway?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

What, he get one of the hobo guys?
  3. Most office supply stores, and even some department/grocery type stores have a fax-for-a-fee set up.

No Patch note is an oversight, nothing more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Amazing how often you see this exact same thing posted. Over and Over and Over.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Maybe because it's the truth?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then maybe they need to get their act together. They are supposed to be professionals right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless the devs have photographic memory, I don't blame them for not remembering every little detail when they return after getting called away - there are a decent number of people at Cryptic, but they are still something of a small dev team IIRC. And with Geko being the main powers lead, I don't doubt he gets called away - and then with Castle also being the Stalker rep - the rest probably get to trade off on starbucks runs.

16 color monitors we had. 16, I tell you!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you need to reword this - Moniters with JUST 16 colors.

The younger people might not understand, and think you are talking about 16 different moniters.
  6. I believe what Positron said on the beta boards was something along the lines of "We figured we would only get away with that one once" in references to a kill 100 X in the tutorial badge.
  7. On the plus side, there is know an auto-demote for inactive leaders, and any character whose name goes unreserved gets auto-booted from your sg.
  8. I think arena's were not successful because you have to go and wait for PVP - in the zones, not only do you not have to get someone to play with you specifically, but there is other stuff to do there while you are there.
  9. That scenario reminds me of The Hero and the Crown
  10. Force Field has detoggle powers, basically the only real use for forcebolt other than "outaa my face".

    [ QUOTE ]
Bug: When Transfusion is fired off on an enemy that is defeated before the power activates, there is no heal, though the animation fires. However, if Twilight Grasp goes off on a dying enemy, it heals the recipients. (Rigel_Kent adds: To be more technical, this seems to be a problem with all AoE effects generated around the single target of a power. Illusion Control->Blind's AoE mez effect also has this problem; if the Blind damage defeats the target, the AoE mez will not happen. AoE's generated around the user don't have this problem.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless I am mistaken, even dead mobs have an acc score, while dead mobs are automattically at 0 end. Kinetics drains end to heal, thus no end means no heal - twiglight grasp mearly gives an acc penalty. So that would be the reason why the "Kinetics Death casting bug" exists, and no such issue is there for the Dark defender.

First of all, I'm overwhelmed by your response. "You guys really like me!" Thank you! Your comments mean a lot to this ol' hack.

Secondly, I'm still writing but no longer for CoH. In fact, I'll be writiing for a wide spectrum of upcoming MMOs within the NCsoft family. However, there is one project that I'm really excited about but I can't say anything regarding it just yet. In time though...

    You guys are wonderful.

Be well. Merry Meet & Merry Part!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Will you at least make some guest apperances?
  12. As far as the gfx improvements.. they have been sneaking into CoH since I5 and will continue to trickle over.
  13. It is not forced grouping.

I know there are several solo SGs out there.

The program will give priority to those who have been subscribed to City of Heroes the longest.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Priority means first.
  15. Actually, we were garenteed the first slots.

And mind you, I don't think the original plan was to go nearly a month without a second wave.
  16. Are you sure they are in? Because, according to everything the devs have said, I would be getting in before the contest winners, being a 12+ monther.
  17. Yeah, even though it says it will email you, if you did the upgrade it gives no notification.

Hmm, that's odd, my box doesn't say anything like that.... no start date to be finalized... So yes, it should be NOW

My point was that the information is out there. Internet: The Information Superhighway. It would be safe to assume that you have access to it, as you're here. So, why is it that you didn't know the details, yet you knew that you could pre-order City of Villains with the promise of getting into Beta? Are you a selective reader? There were emails stating that you could pre-order City of Villains from online stores. It even listed which ones. Those online stores (who had it listed) also listed the details of the pre-order bonus.

Major Life Tip: Look up information on the product you intend to buy/pre-order. Only the foolish act first and ask questions later (this actually applies to a good portion of everyday life). Don't blame a company for your lack of an attention span or your apathy towards information.

    *directs you to his sig*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention that they have said repeatedly in the CoH forum that the order of beta entry will be Loyalty/Contest/Pre-order.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I pre-ordered CoV 1 or 2 weeks ago, and I still didn't receive my bonus box and I asked for shipping the quick way is it supposed to take this long?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The pre-order box does not get the quick shipping - that is purely for the retail box.
  20. Our reward is early access, basically.

I asked Zeb about maybe also throwing in a Pre-order badge, but he said the plans are already set.

I say lets ask for some more love for the pre-orders!
  21. I think pride, if anything, will make sure they get it right and smooth.

How many companies can claim one, let alone two, launches as smooth as CoH?
  22. I don't know what everyone is talking about

While the scratching is a pain, the letters were clear to me.

But then again, my capital "J" is like this font here, only a little more stylize, with a crossbar to make it a cursive "F", and my zeros can look like "Q"s to some when I am in a hurry (I cross my zeros too). And my name begins with J, so I am used to the "|" with a forward tail look.

Of course, half the time the manager at work asks what I wrote to her the night before cause my handwritting can be so bad, so maybe it is experience. (I have given doctors a run for their money.)

Happy, happy, joy, joy. Just got back from picking up by pre-order kit at EBGames. So, it's now instores at EB.

Haven't had a chance to check out the disc yet, but the poster is lame. Limited Edition my [censored]. This is the same poster I got when I bought the CoH DVD edition. I know it's free, but I hate when a company hypes up crap.

Another complaint- Scratching off for the serial number. Scratching on the plastic it's painted on is difficult enough without gouging, but the number is so small too. I can barely read mine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah about that scratch off ...

when my husband finally got it off, it made half of the letters unreadable and the ink actually smeared. But the people at CS was nice enough to help and get that code for him.

Just have the code written on a sleeve it's so much easier.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. I just got through with the same problem. There were a few where it was smudged so bad I couldn't make it out, so I ended up having to guess what the two of the digits were. Finally got it right on my third attempt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They stopped doing the normal code-on-the-sleeve because of Best Buy, actually (or rather, from the complaints when CoH was released, and where the people bought their copies, it was BestBuy restocking returned copies to the shelf ). There was a large number of duplicated CD keys. You should never get a key that isn't a scratcher from a Cryptic game, if not all future NCSoft games, to help prevent this kinda thing.

And KingCyclone, I got my box from GSOnline yesterday (Thursday).
  24. Don't forget, if EBGames say they won't ship you the free disc, that is their policy, not NCSofts.
  25. Basically the "retail" code - the code that comes they ship in the full box - is an upgrade to the pre-release code in the pre-order box. THe pre-code gives you an account that is deactivated on launch day until you get the new code.

The client for the game will be the beta client.
