Please take the time to fully spell out your words, and spell them correctly. This is a forum, not a chat or in-game. In addition, it makes people take you a little bit more serious. Not saying this is your intent, but what I get out of that is "I don't care" when I see that here. The thread isn't going to get locked (I hope) so you can take some time -

Dang. I was hoping for longer... that gives me like two days to get the pieces for my characters.
Oh, well...

Or, possibly, you just have to level up for it to 'see' the power and activate it for use?
Thanks very much for all the feedback! ^_^

Might be a "legacy" effect from the fact that the minimum level to use the Tikiport IS level three - This is no doubt to prevent people from doing something like porting out of Outbreak/Breakout and thus having mission/contact problems. -

i remember when Invoul got immobile when you activated the anti knockdown power, it was so useless
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't find it useless, but I did find that I had to really think about it's use. Then, I had to position myself in the right place before activating Unyielding. Now, I fire it up and go charging into battle.
[/ QUOTE ]
What do you mean? I knew players that would turn it on THEN charge. Go Tele-tankers. Or, if they went afk, that is what recall friend is for, especially once the tanker had invincability with it's agro-aura. -

The online delay didn't have anything to do with WalMart... maybe. In any case, they probably couldn't have done that if they wanted to.

Does anyone else feel screwed over since PlayNC won't accept mastercards to buy serials online?

Sorta. My Bank just ditched Visa in favor of MC so that means any purchases from PlayNC will have to go on a CC instead of my Debit Card.

Washington Mutual?

Got it in one.

I used to work at a convience store, and when they switched over to the MC debits, sooo many issues.
Mind you, that reader was merely less borked after it got fixed, but never had an issue with WaMu Visa debits. -

(...) What will add interest and intrigue to all of this will be what DC will do because they too are abiout to enter into the world of MMOs.
I cannot say that this will be bad or good either but it will be interesting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to be a downer, but DC has paired up with SOE, maker of such excellent games as EQ and EQ2, as well as fine titles like Star Wars Galaxies and Matrix Online. I'm truly hoping that they'll be able to offer some decent competition to the table, since competition usually spurs improvement in any industry, but I have my reservations.

As befits the company name, Emmert also hinted at things to come for the City of Heroes/Villains franchise. When I asked him what he was most excited about moving forward, he told me that it was Issue 9. Given theyre still in the
middle of putting together Issue 8, this was a surprising answer. Unfortunately, well have to wait and see what they have up their sleeves.
[/ QUOTE ]
Would anyone have educated guesses as what is to come in Issue 9, seeing as how Issue 8 is still halfway through its development push?

Statesman is excited about Issue 9 because of the new technology that allows them, finally, to actually make Hickman wear pants. ALL of the time.

I don't recall Incarnates ever being mentioned in the same breath as any particular upcoming Issue by a developer. They've been pretty consistant about not mentioning any time frame about new EATs.
[/ QUOTE ]
If I'm remembering correctly, the devs said that they want to put Incarnates in one of the upcoming issues after 8 (either 9 or 10 I believe) since those issues were from the former retail expansion and a new EAT was supposed to be included as well, however the EAT doesn't fit into the new storyline the game will move into with those issues, so they're having trouble fitting the EAT in for a proper release.
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't ever recall them saying incarnates would be the box set EAT. All I recall them saying is that a) there would be an EAT in the box, and b) issues 10-12 would take up what was going to go into the box. -

Prestige Jump Jets..?? So basically I start with Super Jump on all my toons? If thats true, why get travel powers? I'm sure its not as good as SJ, but Innertial Reduction is the same way.
[/ QUOTE ]
It provides, mainly, a boost to your jump. It does make fly, ss, and sj go faster, but it only lasts for 30, then has something like a 2.5 minute recharge. It is no-where near a REPLACEMENT for travel powers. -

Yeah, jeez, if I had a job where my deadlines were completely negotiable and only had to be met with "as good as I could do", I'd be set for life. Where do I sign up?
Also, when I pay for "1-day shipping" on the 29th I expect my package to arrive on either the 30th or the 1st, depending on what time of day I ordered it, not the 3rd or 4th. If they can't even mail it until two days from now at the earliest, they should be listing it as "3-day shipping". Call me old-fashioned, but I just bought a pair of shoes in the morning last wednesday from Montana and had them on my feet thursday afternoon. THAT'S 1-day shipping.

THought information is scarce about the system. All we know is it has long been put off because it couldnt be done correctly. My only fear now is that since they have been slow to get a "personal lair" idea up and running for our heroes and villians an invention system that is basicly a crafting system is likely to still require use of a SG base. First off requiring you to have COV in order to use it, since as was mentioned before all base stuff is a COV feature that requires both boxes in order to have it in COH, and what about people that dont join SGs?
My only hope would be two things, either finally getting the ability to make the "Qui-Cave" just for my own use, not rquiring hours upon hours of prestige farming to make it useful, or that some kinda of "Public" crafting tables come to pass so that using this ability doesnt require either joining a group you dont care to be in or spending to much time worrying about earning enough prestige to build that table for your SG.
Though they say not to worry i cant help but worry that all of our feature for the next few issues are going to be basicly testing how things will run best in the Marvel MMO. Seems like a huge conflict of intrest for one developer to have 2 competing MMOs in the market place, both dealing with similar content.
[/ QUOTE ]
Qui - the universities. While inventions will be crafting, the workshops will be in the universities. Heroside, at least. And there is at least one Uni villianside too. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, as far as value as long as it's in the $30 range it balances out. At least gets pretty close to it.
$9.99 Online version = bonus items without 1 month free
$30 - In-store version = bonus items + 1 month paid game time
So that part, while I'm not thrilled, is okay. I know they're in business and this is a perfect opportunity to get some new customers. I also know we will have access to the items if we want to wait. Just rather disappointing.
And what is the deal with the Mastercard? Has this been confirmed that online they won't accept it?

so the items affect rent. That's going to be easy to see, and really isn't a concern since it works in the SGs favor.
but I'm asking how does rent affect the item? for example, people have said that if rent goes overdue it turns off your IOP. That claim probably originated somewhere - but does it stop their effect, or delete the IOPs from your base? That would be good to know before we let rent lapse.
[/ QUOTE ]
"Turn off" implies that the effect is withheld. -
At level thirty you get to do a mission that has the reward of giving you the Auras costume section. Things like smoking, crumbling earth, glows, and bright lights. Constant for that costume, and not related to what powers you have going.

I think the best thing is - finally a prestiage power that stacks with other prestiage powers and/or sprint!

Will we be seeing these items as apart of the Veteran Rewards system after I8 launch or as future rewards?
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont see them giving away for free what they're trying to sell for money. Thats not exactly smart marketing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Depending on what you get.
Three cups max. More like two.
Well, I thought there could be a chance to "reward" people who have been playing for almost 3 years instead of guaging them. It seems like this is the perfect thing to introduce into a rewards system, but you're right, why give something away when you can charge for it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe the word you're looking for is "gouge". Which would be a childish, over-entitled sort of description to use.
They have a veteran rewards system, which will reward long term subscribers. However, it doesn't make sense to give away for free what people are willing to pay for, and it doesn't make sense to replace other possible veteran rewards with something that anyone who wants it can buy for the cost of a few cups of coffee. Hell, I haven't been inside a Starbucks lately, $9.99 could be the cost of a small coffee there by now I guess.

I make a list of the changes between editions that could warrant a free respec. This is what we got now, since I7, and before I8 even launches. IMHO, the fly changes alone merit a freespec; it affects about 1/3 of all toons past 14.
Swift, Quickness and Lightning Reflexes now grant a bonus to Flight Speed, in addition to their existing Resistance to Flight Speed debuffs.
Reduced Endurance Cost for Power Pool Flight
Added Toxic Resist to Sonic Dispersion power for Corruptors, Controllers and Defenders. The help text has always stated that Toxic damage was resisted by this power, so we added it.
Dominator Icy Assault Ice Sword Circle has had the long pause after casting removed.
Numerous changes to Oil Slick to make it actually ignite
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is, they generally only give it out for "Power Changes" and not "Bug Fixes". The last three points definitly would qualify more as fixes than changes. -

Issue 3 - Regen got nerf-beaten.. respec for them
Issue 4 - Regen continues to be beaten, holds tweaked along with Travel Supression, and i think HO's were changed..Respec for that
Issue 5 - GDN, coupled with HO's less effectiveness.. I.E. major power changes.. Respec
Issue 6 - ED.. nuff said
Issue 7 - They were NOT giving a respec with these, but, with summoned powers getting new tech, (Rains are buffable, same with burn and pets then) Respec.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I7 was going to go without a respec of it's own, until people asked that they delay the aniversarry respec once it was clear that I7 was going to happen at the same time. -
