You mean that at the rate I10 is moving, you're not hiring professional voice actors? What are you thinking!
I look forward to the next video, whats it focus on? The mothership raid?

Waitaminute. I recall a study a while ago that applied the tests often used to identify "sociopaths" and found that many CEO's have similar characteristics.

Are we sure this conditioning is a good thing?

I'm actually pleased to see CoX adopting this trope, too- it deepens the "comics" feel of the setting.

Adopting? They have been using the issues to make literary references since i1. -

not nescessarily a bug, but I was running numina the other night and the part where you need to hunt Vahzilok in Faultline caused us a bit of a problem. Obviously, a group of 8 lvl 35+ should have little problem dispatching 20 vahzilok, but its hard to do when you cant find them.
The issue is that they only come out at night. Our team got there right at dawn, and then had to wait for a good 10-20 minutes for them to come back out again. During this time Several TF members got impatient, and one ended up leaving because it was taking too long.
My suggestion to alleviate this inconvenience would be to have some vahzilok appear around the Skyway gate area during the day, just to keep the Task force running if other teams find themselves in the situation we were in.
[/ QUOTE ]
I seem to recall that there are Vahz in Faultline during the day in the underground garage underneath Mirror Spirit. -

umm just out of curiosity, have you tried vista? I'm using it as we speak, and it's just amazing. All the bad rumors are just that; rumors... well that and isolated bad cases.
If you haven't tried it, don't bash it! It's amazing!

Question - What does your EULA say about transfering your copy from one computer to another?
I seem to recall a article saying that the liscense permitted you to only use it on one computer at a time, and no more than two ever - and no definition of what constitutes a new computer other than some [censored] about "it is determined by a complicated algorithm".
And how far into bed they have gone with RIAA/MIAA on the copyright protection and the limits it imposes sounds discouraging as well. -

You're not kidding about Synapse TF. SIX HOURS of "go clear out this warehouse" and "go kill this boss". We had three identical missions in a row. Most of us on the TF said "never again".
[/ QUOTE ]
Ouch - You need a different team - I have never had Synapse take near that long. -
[ QUOTE ]
I mean seriously, from a developmental end it doesn't sound like they are adding anything new mechanic or structure wise, just rendering a few new models, reskinning a zone, and adding in a couple recipies.
[/ QUOTE ]
You never "just" reskin a zone - and it isn't going to be just a few new models.
And we are getting at least one new tile set - and possibly a new "sub" zone - for the interior of the ship. -
[ QUOTE ]
Biggest disappointment yet. Cryptic, please if you are going to have a huge event be prepared to handle the load. The servers were not playable enough to even gain from the double xp. I gained less xp than I normally do because of the wasted time waiting on trying to even log in. After 30 minutes of failed attempts I gave up. 2 Thumbs down for not being prepared.
[/ QUOTE ]
So - which server? This doesn't help anything, you know. -
[ QUOTE ]
Great! I can add a few more XP to my characters before i let my account expire and switch to World of Warcraft. If you have any sort of life it takes far too long to level once you get past 25th level.
[/ QUOTE ]
At least you don't have to buy a flying mount to do the high level content here.
Or deal with Blizzard protecting you from yourself -

This sounds awesome indeed. Should be a TUN of fun.
That said, can we please get a new powerset or two for the ONLY AT in CoH to not get one in the last 2+ years? Scrappers?

And tankers. -

[ QUOTE ]
So what about new power sets...or costume pieces? Just keep stockpiling stuff for the higher level toons aka the Vocal Minority. Why should I be glad that nothing is being offered to me for the 3rd straight issue?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you think people with high level characters are a minority, you're out of your mind. The game has been out for a long time.
The new content starts at level 35. Thats not high level. And there are new costume pieces, as the update mentions.
Did you even read the update information?

35 + Rikiti spawning everywhere.. "This has hospital Stand off written all over it ." to translate for lowbies.."Debt ..Debt... Debt... oh and More debt enjoy" *chuckles* Co Op TF will Rock since all my friends tend to enjoy being villans over heroes.Good Chance to help them reach 50 so they stand a chance in the arena.
[/ QUOTE ]
When they did the eye-ball invasion, the mobs spawned level-appropriate for the zone. Still overpowered (the mobs, after all, only had power-setups for level 40/45+) but Rikti should be better. -
[ QUOTE ]
Circle of Thorns: Don't I remember something about the Circle abandoning part of Orenbega where the Rikti got too close? I think they will try to stay out of the fight, but there may be a story or two.
[/ QUOTE ]
Rikti trying to "bunker down" into the earth dug deep enough they broke through Orenbenga's wards - thus why we can now go there while pre-invasion you could not. -

I laughed my [censored] off at this comment:
As for deciding what goes into the game, I usually consult a magical sea shell I keep under my desk. The sea shell tells me to do good things, but sometimes it tells me to do bad, very bad. It takes about 15 beers before that sea shell starts to talk.
[/ QUOTE ]
But the real question is, does he know how to use the three sea shells? -

Ditto on long skirts. I even would have been happy with, and have suggested, long "loincloth" type skirts, ala Mystique and Alex Ross's version of Wonder Woman in Kingdom Come. It seems to me this would basically be a straight/thin version of the trenchcoat put both in back and front. I mean, trenchs clip pretty badly now, how much worse could they be if made thinner and placed in front as well.
And I also wonder, how would a long skirt be any different than a long robe? CoT have had long robes since day one, and they don't clip. I'm sure there is a good explanation -- I'm just making an observation.
[/ QUOTE ]
as jay mentioned, the NPC costumes were never designed to work on players. player parts have different considerations since each part moves independently of each other while NPCs costumes are animated together as a whole.
[/ QUOTE ]
The CoT never run at supersonic speeds or sit down. Do any NPCs sit down?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, you can usually find Hellions, Skulls and Tsoo sitting. Tsoo are another one that have long robes too
[/ QUOTE ]
But do Tsoo in robes ever sit? I usually only see the pant-wearing Tsoo sitting. -

Great interview. The Pain Pads story was funny. Sick but funny.
I'm glad to see there's some one else out there that gets tired of hearing people complain about dubs vs subbed anime.
[/ QUOTE ]me too, that was one thing that used to tick me off in the old diehard gamefan magazine, they were sub elitests. Luckily dvd generally solved that problem, as now we have both, made especially funny in the ghost story anime, where the sub is the actual script, but the dub is outright insane, offensive, and really really funny.
[/ QUOTE ]
The first set of .hack games, in Japan, had a "comedy audio" track. We just got English and Japanese audio *sigh*.
Subs for the win! (Maybe it would be different if I had not seen the subs first, but if dubbed Bleach comes on TV, and it isn't changed, I leave the room.) -
[ QUOTE ]
Looks awsome, it doesn't specify but does this mean the Crash site is a villian zone as well now?
[/ QUOTE ]
No - what happens is the hero who starts the TF picks how many of the empty spaces he wants to be villains, and they are forced into the TF team, and auto-ported to missions. -
How amusing.
And yesterday I was tempted to do a "OMGBBQ ISSUE !) IS HERE!" post, off the basis there were no redname posts yesterday. Patch Notes don't count. -

I have the same issue on Firefox and IE! Other myspace pages show just fine including my own!

OK, glad it is not just me then. I think something in their coding or layout is broken.
Cheers!

We are looking into this now, the page was set up using IE 7 and Firefox 2 both of those work fine.

What version are the people getting borked pages using? -

Cryptic is a Vendor....that is, they provide a service to NCSoft for which they are paid, under contract you can be sure, but Cryptic doesn't get to negotiate their budget on a weekly or monthly basis.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know they are under contract - thus my line about how they agreed how they were going to split it before they got it.
You are saying that you want NCSoft to not spend money on myspace - which they haven't* - not really. You are saying that you want them to give more money than they have agreed to give Cryptic instead, which is why I brought up the bit about NCSoft can't due to it's obligation to it's owners (just like any store that uses vendors).
*NCSoft has a large staff - and some (like Ex & Lighthouse, CuppaJo, etc) are there for just one game a lot of them go where they are needed as they are needed. Leastwise, that is the impression I am left with. THem having this mysapce page done up was most likely just them getting something for the money they were paying someone while he was at work yet not working on anything. -
[ QUOTE ]
In the end, its all the same pie. NCSoft pays Cryptic to continue developement so Cryptic's slice (as big or small as it may be) comes from NCSoft's pie. I'd rather see the sliver being used to improve the game and fix long standing issues instead of being used to create another webpage that will not (based on experience with the COX page and the items trimmed from it as 'fat') be maintained properly once it 'gets old'.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except the pie is already split.
It's like you want to give the Jones more pie (or take it away) after they already took their share home.
NCSoft has obligations to it's owner(s) - it needs to make profit.
NCSoft and Cyrptic decided how they were going to split they pie as it came in before they got it. That, combined with their need to make a profit to satisfy their owners, means they are not going to take the part of their budget marked for advertising (such as they do) and give it to cryptic for free.
And that assumes that having some of the community rep types even took any actual time away from something else. If it just took up "free time" then they come out even, ahead if they even get one more sub! -
You forgot "stockholder responsibility".
