    You know, I had three quarters of a snarky, step by step refutation of this post, but I decided better of it. That one statement there is so amazingly out of touch with reality that you're obviously either deliberately attempting to be provocative, or want changes that are so far out of the mainstream as to make them absurd.

    The game is not going to fundamentally change at this point in it's lifecycle, and it seems like that is the only thing that will satisfy you. All new content is going to use similar gameplay to what's come before; you've got the same designers using the same engine and tools to create content for (largely) the same group of players. You can't just expect that they're going to give you something that's totally alien to what's come before.

    Even the one thing you allow as new, IO's, aren't really. We had rewards for defeating mobs, we had enhancements, we had costume pieces; how do IO's change any of that? It's just a recombination of existing game elements, isn't it?

    I'm really curious to hear what, exactly, you would consider "new."

    Don't forget, Cambios is the person that was upset NCSoft wasn't keeping City of on the 125% uptime standards of the telecommunications industry. Basically comparing a video game to 911 (or equiv) service.

    I'm hoping so Bill. The Fansite Portal has languished in disuse for over 2 years now So many new and active fansites (like Red Tomax and CoH at Wikia) that should be added, while many unused links should be cleared out.

    As a guy who runs and SG site, I would like my SG in there too. I also know how trivial it can be to add and remove hyperlinks on a web page

    But that's just the tip of the iceberg IMHO.

    It might not be as trivial as you think - most places like this require a review of the site before linking to it to make sure it doesn't have porn, etc.

Some people just can't empathize with others I guess, who just wanted to play their favourite guys and were having troubles with it, I guess

    At the same time, did you see the posts from people on Freedom? They were saying they should forcibly move the last five hundred people to start new characters/recent transfers to other servers. Rinse and repeat if more room is needed. Frankly, from the attitudes expressed by the majority of those who spoke here, I have no sympathy for them.

    Although I do suspect Go_Sabres had a "Cry Moar" macro this weekend.

    If your channels go silent, don't look at the tabs via edit. Try sending a tell to the channel - I have noticed that if chat goes down, and you look at the tab, the tab realizes there is no chat and saves itself with out a chat channel in it - whereas if you let it come back without checking on it, it keeps the channel in the tab.

    Yes. We upgraded our server hardware as part of our re-investment plan for City of Heroes/Villains, but the fact of the matter is that we've actually hit a new capacity threshhold.

    To be clear....There are more players on Freedom now than have ever played on that server. Ever.

    Because data mining didn't show that people were transferring characters to Freedom and creating new ones and no one could guess that DXP would encourage more people on other servers to create alt characters on Freedom.....

    And people shouldn't blame server transfers - I started new characters after hearing about RO - if someone is invited by someone on freedom to try the game guess where chances are they are told where to make their character?

    Anything can be made Flashback, but the "completed" star checks for A) Souvenir clue or B) the Badge. If we did missions that were not Story Arcs and not Badged, then they would never show complete.

    That said, I have no problem doing this if you guys don't. Just let me know what missions you want on Ouroboros and I will do my best to get them there.

    Maybe have those missions have a unique symbol in the star coloum - say, ∞ - for the OCD. The symbol would always be there, of course - since as you say there is no way to mark completed for those kinds of missions.

    You mean how long it took you to level to 50? When you level to fifty, go find a NPC whose name begins with the letter "M". They give you the total logged in time for that character since creation.

    Technically, I don't think the level cap was ever "raised." Levels 40-50 always existed "on paper" but just weren't finished in time for release. The intention was always for the game to have 50 levels, as I understand it. In fact, I'm pretty certain everyone knew that the very first expansion was going to be levels 40-50 for precisely that reason: it was always intended to be part of the game.

    However, the design of the ultrarares suggests that they are operating on the assumption that level 50 is and will always be the "top of the game."

    Anything is possible, but I think there isn't even a hint of work or thought going into a level 51.

    Original plan had 41-50 being i2 or even i3 - but that was because they expected people to go alt-crazy. It became i1 since they had a lot of people zoom through on one character.

    every pay to play online game updates and expands there game as it progresses through patches, these are not some unique 'free expansions' we are getting, they are simply patches and updates to the game just like every other paid mmo you can subscribe to.

    i guess its just semantics, but calling them 'free expansions' makes me feel like you think you are talking to idiots who dont realize every single paid mmo has the exact same thing, but they just call them patches.

    I don't know of any pay-to-play MMOs that have introduced any classes for no extra charge.

    I am not counting Guildwars, as it's model is pay once for the box and not to play. But Everquest doesn't give "patches" like this to their customers - not frequently, anyway. They have several boxes out. WoW is working on their second one (they plan to release a retail expansion every year most likely for the full 49.95 price) - and I have no clue what Linage and Lineage II are at.

    Um, at least since CoV beta they have been wanting to show us the real numbers - Castle (and I think even Geko, before he left) said the big issue was trying to show some of the stuff in ways it would be easy for us players to understand (KB/KU/KD being a big example).
