    The information is NOT stored on the client. It is stored on your local hard drive, as a file named playerslot.txt. While it remembers the character order, it STILL ignores the first character on your list, and automatically selects the character that was ORIGINALLY at the top of the list, pre-I12.

    Just for clarification, your local hard drive IS the client. The NCSoft hard drives (and computers) are the server, your computer is the client.

    I will be inordinately unhappy if that's what the launcher turns out to be. I do not play Valve games, and Steam factors significantly into why. The CoH launcher is lightweight and, frankly, easy to skip. I want nothing to do with the downloading of patches or other data "streaming" in the background at times anything other than of my choosing.

    If I remember right, you can select what you want to update in the background. haven't looked at it in a while though, not since I played in the exteel beta.

    Energy Manipulator: Chance to Stun has two problems. One is that the text changes from Chance to Disorient to Chance to Stun. The other problem is that when slotting in Lightning Storm it does not proc in PvP. Tested it last night and after 10 minutes of the Lightning Storm zapping it never stunned my target that was standing there unprotected. When I get a chance I'm going to slot it into Lightning Field and see if it's an AoE issue.

    It was set to not work in PvP because of people griefing by putting it in Speed boost.

In game tells already handle communication so why is in game email so vitally important? Also all the DJs have out of game emails that could handle requests as well, and far better than the in game email system as most normal email providers these days have spam blockers.

    Tells have one huge weakness - The Chat system. New tells make the system scroll to the bottom - there is no easy way to "bookmark" where you are at in them, and if you get enough, they start disappearing into the void. Emails don't force you to scroll, you can simply delete them as you do them, and don't disappear like tells do. The DJs frequently do stuff in game as they DJ - using the in game email lets them be active in game without having to go and switch back and forth between in-game and out-of-game.

    Most importantly, using the in-game email gives the LISTENERS an easy way to request songs.

    And that might be what they are doing - but they don't have the system set up to differentiate between trial and subscription yet (only the billing does, and that just tells the game "Active" or "Inactive".)

    No, the developers would not try to review the emails.

    NCSoft has a support staff for just this kind of thing - and they check every petition out.

    The only way I can think of that gets someone banned without review is a credit card doing a charge back against NCSoft, as then it is assumed to be Credit Card Theft. And then your account is banned irrevocably, as far as I know.

    If WoW had done that, I would of simply logged off and uninstalled the game right when I found that out, instead of seeing it to it's conculsion and deciding I "m3h" on WoW with the trial account.

    As it was, being unable to answer questions I knew the answers to in broadcasts, etc, was annoying in the extreme. I say no to this.

    Why not remove the e-mail system all together? All MMOs have e-mail which is why I say it is radical. But, it's usage here is limited compared to some others. We cannot transfer influence, enchantments, salvage, or recipes like other MMOs. It is really only text based communication. In my opinion communication is handled much more conveniently with tells and offiline messages. It would be curious what the actual usage numbers for e-mail would be without those reported for spam. My perception (which is limited and quite possibly wrong) is that it is not used much outside of sending RMT and now p0rn messages. Removing it would stop one of their more powertools, the ability to send spam while the player is offline.

    Many SGs use it as well. It would be screwing over those who use it legitimately. Especially in big SGs where, say, they kick someone for inactivity, and can't recall the global name (if they even knew it) - only global tells get saved as offline messages.

    The only problem with using the /ignore_spammer command I see is the continuous use of nonsensical names used by most spammers, that makes it often impossible to correctly ignore. For the email that has been flooding our accounts specifically could the Dev's please add an in-game email address (per server) that we can forward the emails to (IE Email Petitions; Pinnacle Spammers; Virtue Petitions, etc). The player base can then easily forward the email along to the support team for their review/actions. Or add a button to the current in-game email structure to forward the email as a petition.

    For tells, just hit backspace three times (one to bring up the reply, two to delete the space and comma), then replace /tell with /ignore spammer.

    Ok. And my issue isn't it's just 2. It's that they're 2 picked per server. I think the 2 associated with I12 improvements should be across all servers due to increased powers...but it's a minor issue I have. I still plan on buying 5 for $20.

    But the system isn't set up to just give x per server, it is set up to give out x to be distributed. So that's why they can't jsut give 2 per/

    First of all, it's more messing with the live database. It means they have more to back up if something goes [censored].

    Second, they get charged a fee for processing card info. Even Visa and Mastercard charge a noticable amount, especially on amounts five dollars or less.
