Coyote has alwas been there. Well, at least as long as I've been playing. <--- Though I seem to recall him being called Kyotee or something at one point, but can't swear to that part.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    He replaced Detective Wright.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And around Issue 1, as I recall.

I remeber my irritation when they nerfed street sweeping out of existance with the 1/2 debt and mission xp bonus. And then solo street sweeping anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Buffing one aspect does not equal a nerf to another aspect.

    I just thought of something...

Has anyone tried using the names Taurus Bulba, Megavolt, Bushroot, Quackerjack, or The Liquidator?

Just curious if those were banned, too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    But I'm not a duck.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

PS- now what am I going to do with those blackmail tattoo photos I took at Hero Con? They're worthless!!

Wait, if they're crazy, then this forum is partailly crazy. and everyone is saying it...

Forgive me if this is too obvious, but if they look that bad, why not simply prohibit certain ATs or power sets from taking them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let me clarify something here, because everyone’s taking Posi’s joke about Martial Arts a bit too literally. The only animations that robes look okay with are the basically the ones where you stand around fully upright. So the idle animations, a handful of powers, and a number of emotes. They get trashed pretty quickly the second you go into even a basic combat stance, much less something as extreme as taking a knee to rest. There are numerous core animations (animations that are shared between all player characters) that would be problematic with attempting to add full length robes to our current player model skeletons. That's before even getting into specific powersets or ATs.

This is not a limitation because of Martial Arts. It’s an issue with all player characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So why can't you guys just make a special set of animations for anyone in a rob, such that anyone who takes a robe costume piece never moves their legs more than with small steps. I mean, you'd only have to make special versions of what, 80 or 90 percent of the animations? That doesn't seem so bad...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    5,400*.8=4320animations...

Although, that adds up to about 3670 based off the numbers BackAlleyBrawler gave in his first post for Male/Female/Huge, which *.8 still gives you about 3000 animations.

    For a single costume piece.

This is still going on all the time, even when mobs are set not to run. AVs, EBs, etc. My fire/SR scrapper is causing it all the time. It's got to be a combination of /SR not getting hit and the DOT from fire. PLEASE FIX THIS CASTLE!

[/ QUOTE ]You act like he knows the exact cause and has just been withholding the fix to watch us squirm.

Why do I have a funny feeling that someone's going to be upset that there'll be no Wizard's Beard for Female models....

This entire topic seems to have done little but stir up folks. It appears to have been nothing more than a Fait Accompli posting without any stated or obvious intention to alter course despite well stated and on-point feedback offered by the community.

Not the first time. Probably won't be the last. You would think some of us veterans of this community would learn. CoH won't be the only non-WoW clone in town forever. Then they will learn....

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like how people always forget about the things that have come directly from player feedback.

The Devs have stated why, and the fact that they didn't want to, they are doing it. At this point, looks like we wait for either tweaks to various individual powers or COH2 in some form.

    Again, why not?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would be nice to have an self-demote, but maybe their system won't play nice with it. *shrug*

Unless you mean the GM call - as to that, I can think of no situation which auto-generates a petition without the player starting it.

And as for using the auto-demote to self-demote, I also should not be forced to NOT play a character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

you wouldnt be forced to not play that character you would be just working on that day job!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can work on Day Jobs on character's I am actively playing. After all, I am not perma-logged in

I've gotten the speed of a computational loop from "will be done in half a week" to "will be done in half a minute," but it took about twenty optimization tweaks, and a lot of sticking to it when I thought I couldn't improve any more.

So I'm of the opinion a good code solution will be found. It's just a matter of how bad the programmers want it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They've stated that they know a better solution can be found. However, it would require so much rewriting we would basically have CoH2
  14. [ QUOTE ]

Isn't that like telling the victim to deal with their attacker before calling the police?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, it's like telling the victim to call the police, not expect them to show up automatically without anyone telling the cops they are needed.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
And it isn't my job to make theirs easier at my expense. I am paying NCsoft money to provide a service. I have a problem with them offloading their work onto me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What additional work is there to you if anything happens because of it? That could not happen before? Hopefully anyone of leader rank is a decent person - because you can boot anyone below you - it's one of your leaders that will be superleader, not some random shmoe in your SG.
  16. [ QUOTE ]

I see no issue with the auto /petition if the leader in question puts forth a minimum amount of effort to explain themselves before they act.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Other than the fact that the CS staff has enough to do without the system giving them false alarms?

    [ QUOTE ]
This way CS and the rest of the group do not have to sift through mounds of data to determine who did what.

    [/ QUOTE ]

CS already has this kind of data available to them.

    [ QUOTE ]
Okay, completely missing from this: You don't know who booted you. You don't know who was booted after you. There is no log showing this to the player, so who exactly are they supposed to /petition?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So your SG has no way of contacting each other except throught /sg? You have other issues then, my friend.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Why dont you put in a VOTE system to elect the super leader? Give the current leaders a vote each. Tied voting means no super leader.

I mean, we are all about democracy right? :P

This way any SG politics would not affect customer service - CS would just have to worry about if the voting system works or not.

    Upsen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why put in a voting system for a one time thing?
  18. [ QUOTE ]
That is exactly what I meant, and it should have come as part of this new rank. Customer Service wants a tool to make their lives easier, fine. They should take the responsibility for any abuse of this tool as well. That means they should have the tools to monitor someone abusing this new rank.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except, what exactly would be abuse?

What if an SG in coalition redefines it purpose (RO has done this, tightening/loosening some of the rules and thus changing who is appropriate in the themed SG) so kicks people who don't belong in that particular SG anymore? With the consent of everyone involved. Then you end banned because of an auto-petition? There are so many variables in this game nothing should ever generate an auto-report from a player EXCEPT a crash. But, everything is recorded - it's a huge mass of data, but if you petition that your character, and everyone else got kicked after after so-and-so became super leader, they can look it up, and fix the problem.
  19. [ QUOTE ]

  20. Automatically? No.

At least one person would have to file the petition.
  21. [ QUOTE ]

Groups DO have to work it amongst themselves of Leaders who might log in to get it first.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean last. The game won't care who is the first leader to log back in once i14 goes live.
  22. [ QUOTE ]

Wouldn't this have been solved by simply putting in a prompt for promoting to the same level as the person promoting? An ounce of prevention in this case would have been worth this pound of "cure".

    [/ QUOTE ]

What happens when someone wants to step down, though? You shouldn't have to quit and SG and be re-invited in order to step down from a leadership position.

    [ QUOTE ]
Is there a mechanism so that if someone in this new rank goes on a booting spree that the GMs will be notified and step in?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would think yes - a booting spree would be obvious griefing to me, if everyone had been logging in regularly.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

... and I did not see this in any of the commentary:

    does offline promotion work yet?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is neither offline promotion nor offline demotion installed.

Nor is there any sort of offline SG invite or SG request-to-join.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And none such has been advertised, either.
  24. [ QUOTE ]

btw 247 = hundreds, or so I was taught in school. Admittedly that was some time ago, so maybe that has changed.

Oh sure, count the individual pet powers, why don't you...
  25. Jade -

Legacy Chain bosses also summon fire imps - they also use phantasm, but it's a "Champion of Light" so it's probably a totally seperate entity.

I think the Lead Freezers might also summon Jack Frost.
